Never use this company to help purchase a property. I started with them in February, and by the time may came I was still no further forward. Few weeks later they pull out of working on my behalf for still no reason given to this day but still demanding near enough £900 from me for nothing. All my paper work and bank statements where supplied at the start of February. Went to another solicitors and with in 2 weeks all was sorted so seemed to be straight forward enough. Gemma the head of the department is very un professional put in loads of calls for a call back and still nothing. Only way I heard they where chasing me for £900 was when a debt company called me no letter no call nothing.
Stay clear don't put yourself through what I had to.

Scullion represented me in an assault case. I turned myself in so it was a guilty plea from the start, but I still had to navigate false statements from the victim, who saw an opportunity to take revenge by inflating the offence. I thought they negotiated very well with the Sheriff. My lawyer at the first hearing was Michael Stewart. He managed to negotiate the wording of the charge down to something I could agree to. I had a different lawyer for the sentencing hearing -Urfan Dar. It was an annual leave change. Not a problem. The Procurator Fiscal tried to represent the same false embellishments to the Sheriff (a different Sheriff from the first hearing), even though they had been removed from the wording of the complaint. If those embellishments had been taken into account, my sentence might have been harsher. I thought this was the key contribution by Scullion. You need people who are wise to the tricks of the courtroom. I think both Urfan and Michael have the savvy to represent a client well. I had toyed with the idea of saving the fee and not having a lawyer at the sentencing. That would have been a huge mistake. You need a good defence lawyer from start to finish

After receiving 4 high speed driving charges, I contacted Scullion law. I was scared out of my mind when I received driving charges for the first time. Kris made a stressful situation really easy and reassured me even when I was panicking, and kept me updated throughout the process. He was able to help me keep my license with a minimum of points, which gave me a great deal of relief. I am deeply thankful to Kris Buchanan for representing me in court.

I used Scullion Law during my first time buying a property in Scotland. During the entire process they communicated with myself very well and were contactable throughout.
However, I felt they weren't very transparent with myself, especially when it came to things that would result in extra costs. Which was a shock to me as one of their key selling points on their website is that they try to be a transparent, open and honest with the process as it is forever changing and can be very challenging when buying especially if you haven't been through the process before.
Not long after my offer was accepted by the seller I was asked by my solicitor to give a 'proposed' move in date. I asked what the limits were for this and what sort of dates I could pick, they then informed me that anything less than four weeks would cost extra and anything longer than eight weeks would cost extra. Due to timings with holidays and such I choose around five and half weeks. However, when picking this date I wasn't informed that this would then become my fixed move in date and if this was missed I would be required to pay more. Even after picking the date I wasn't told that it had now turned into a fixed date and was no longer 'proposed'. I am sure anyone who has purchased a property in the past will know that things are often delayed and this can't be helped. My solicitor knew that my mortgage case was more challenging than the normal and therefore, meant that it was slightly delayed however, I was still within the original eight weeks once everything went through. At the time when we were passing the original 'proposed' move in date I was pushed into a corner and told if I didn't sign to say we were out of scope and therefore required to pay more at the end no more work would be done on my case. As you can imagine missing the date we thought we were getting into the flat in was frustrating enough for us as it meant needing to rent storage lockers and such. However, with the addition of now knowing that we would be charged extra at the end of the sale just created added and unwanted stress during this time. However, I took the outlook of how much can this extra really be?
Well at the end once the sale was complete I was sent the fee's that I had to pay. To put this into context my original quote for all legal fee's, ID checks etc I was just over £1,000. The extra I needed to pay for the elven working days over the original 'proposed' move in date was just below £2,000, 200% of the original quote, resulting in my cost overall being £3,000. My understanding of the word 'proposed' is that it is something that can change. So to be charged an extra 200% for missing the 'proposed' date was extremely frustrating and even though I thought their overall customer service was good, I will most certainly not be using Scullion Law again and would NOT recommend to anyone to use them. I do not believe for a second I am the only case where they have done this and believe with the way things go in buying houses they will have the opportunity to do this often. To add to the frustration when I was sent the final documentation to review it all still have the original move in date on it and I had to inform my solicitor to change this so the question is raised of what work did they really do for that extra 200%??

Awful ‘representation’ from start to finish. Would have had a better result if I had represented myself. Go elsewhere. Oh and don’t expect a call back from them either.

Horrendous experience with one of the senior partners. Lost case due to inadequate preparation, zero communication and forced to pay up front. Took case to another legal firm and they blew us away with their amazing attitude and genuine concern for the well-being of the people involved.
