Website is easy to use. You can flip between different cover options which show you cost + benefits and the table reference makes it easy to see the type of cover you need. I compared the cover and cost with other insurance providers and SC came out on top.

I had a good holiday and didn’t need to worry about insurance. Going through the online system produced a quote which initially very expensive. I phoned them though and found I’d selected a bunch of stuff I didn’t actually need. If you struggle with the way things are written (why I married a lawyer lol) the online booking can be a little tricky. Call centre were very kind sorting it all out though.

It was easy to get the insurance set up online, it was an affordable price and it was clear and easy to understand.
Access while overseas although a bit faffy (I understand the need for security) was easy enough.
The claims process was mostly easy to fill in and the results of my claim was welcomed at a very stressful time for my family.

We understand why the excess can feel unfair in situations like this. The excess is a standard part of the policy and applies to each claim, regardless of the item’s value, but we appreciate that this can be disappointing when the cost to replace the item is lower than the excess itself.
Where possible, we always recommend claiming directly with the airline first, as they’re typically responsible for damage caused during transit. Travel insurance is designed to step in when those avenues don’t fully cover the loss. That said, your feedback is really important to us. Easy to understand, straightforward.
Whenever I travel, I choose Southern Cross Travel Insurance. Their service is always clear, easy to understand, and straightforward to use. Thankfully, I haven't had to make a claim, but my experience with them gives me confidence that they'd be there when needed.
