My experience with Schmidt Global Relocations was an absolute disaster. I trusted them to ship my furniture from the Netherlands to the US after they presented themselves as a professional and experienced company. Unfortunately, after pickup, everything went wrong.

Unexpected extra fees were added with little to no explanation.

Communication was extremely poor throughout the process.

My shipment was split into two deliveries: the first arrived 3 months late, the second 4 months late.

Many of my belongings arrived damaged or broken, including an electric bike I paid extra to ship with care.

Upon arrival, I was blackmailed into paying $350 in cash — the driver threatened to drive off and dump my belongings elsewhere if I refused.

To make matters worse, when I raised my complaints with Schmidt Global Relocations, they were not taken seriously and I was left without any real support or compensation.

This company caused me stress, financial loss, and serious damage to my belongings. I strongly recommend avoiding Schmidt Global Relocations at all costs.

Schmidt Global Relocations BV along side Joost has really provided us with a great serfice at all times. We have had to had our goods relocated multiple times and they are professional, helpful and well worth a ten star service.

⚠️ I feel compelled to share my experience with ExecuMove and Schmidt Global Relocations.

In January 2025, I shipped all my family’s belongings from Cape Town to Madrid using ExecuMove. It’s now August, and we still haven’t received our shipment.

Despite numerous emails, calls, and broken promises — including repeated claims that the issue was resolved — we’ve been given no confirmed delivery date. Our belongings are reportedly being held in a warehouse in the Netherlands by Schmidt Global, but the situation remains stuck in silence and excuses.

We’ve faced:
• Over 6 months of delays
• A complete lack of transparency
• Constantly shifting timelines
• Poor communication and zero accountability

This has caused a huge disruption for my family. We arrived in a new country with just our suitcases, trusting that the rest would follow shortly — but that never happened.

We are now in the process of filing official complaints in South Africa, the Netherlands, and Spain, and are exploring legal options. What should have been a smooth international relocation has turned into a long and stressful ordeal.

If you’re planning to move internationally, I strongly recommend you think twice before trusting ExecuMove or Schmidt Global Relocations.

All we want is our belongings returned and the matter handled professionally.

We had a great experience with Schmidt Global Relocations and would absolutely recommend them for an international move. From the start, our move manager, Katherine, was responsive, organized, and easy to communicate with. I was impressed by how prepared the team was—they asked for photos of stairs, entryways, and parking in advance to avoid surprises on moving day.

Our move was relatively small, but Schmidt treated it with the same care and professionalism you'd expect for a much larger job. The movers were punctual, polite, and careful with our belongings. Everything went smoothly—no stress, no surprises. Great service from start to finish.

Schmidt Global exceeded expectations
From first contact to delivery of my goods, Schmidt Global has made the move from Australia to Germany effortless and affordable. The staff (Joost, Amy and Sarah) have been extremely kind, knowledgeable and have kept me up-to-date every step of the way. The cost were less than expected so I brought a bit more with me. The staff moving the goods either end (pick-up and delivery) were on time, courteous and swift. Highly recommend you get in contact with this company if you have to move internationally.

The company has a great price/quality distribution. Of all the other moving companies I have received a quotation from they did the job for half the price. They showed up well on time and moved everything within a week from pickup to dropoff without breaking anything.

Customer service was very friendly and helpful and they answered the questions I had well or came back to me quickly when they did not have an answer. There was a slight annoyance with a long email chain but if that is the biggest problem in moving across countries than there is honestly nothing to complain about.

Very recommended!

Exceptional Service from Schmidt Global Netherlands – Highly Recommended

I recently arranged for the relocation of my late parents’ belongings from South Africa to the Netherlands, and Schmidt Global Netherlands delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish.

Lynn was absolutely on point with her communication—clear, timely, and always reassuring. She handled every detail with care and professionalism, making what could have been a very stressful process feel smooth and well-managed.

The delivery team, Dion and his colleague, were fantastic—courteous, efficient, and proactive. Faced with an awkward parking situation due to a neighbour’s car, they calmly found a solution and carried out the delivery with care and respect.

The move originated with ExecuMove in South Africa, and Schmidt Global Netherlands really brought it all together. From customs coordination to the final unpacking, they were reliable, responsive, and incredibly professional.

Thank you also to Bruce, Neetasha, and everyone at ExecuMove for their excellent service and coordination at the South African end. The partnership between the two companies worked seamlessly and gave me total peace of mind.

If you’re considering an international move, I can’t recommend Schmidt Global highly enough. Their service is not only professional, but thoughtful and personal throughout.

Avoid!! I have moved several times across countries, but for a move from Paris to Abu Dhabi I chose what I thought was a reliable Dutch company. What a regret!!!! Their sales department is extremely well trained and will call you timely, send you all kinds of emails with information. All downhill when you get your “account manager” who does not bother to update you at all. They have been holding my stuff for 8 weeks and they do not bother to give me any update. I have a small child and I am pregnant, on the other side of the world and I hear nothing about my shipment, only that the container is not full… During the sales phase, they said that there is so much demand for Abu Dhabi it would be quick, NOT AT ALL. They also said it would take a max of 8 weeks for shipping, and yet, 8 weeks have passed and I still hear nothing. I was between this and a French company, with very similar price points, I chose this one because of their “digitalized” approach and for being Dutch myself, but what a regret. I have no words to describe my disappointment and dissatisfaction.
Update on July 18th: 1. yes they did send me an email with a promise to ship my stuff this week (mora than 9 weeks of waiting), and again, it’s Friday and I hear nothing. Unreliable and horrible. 2. I paid for 17m3, the reality is that I inly have 15m3 (confirmed by them) and they proposed to reimburse me 400€, with all the trouble they are causing me. I am spending more Money at Ikea here now, so I should have avoided this move. Ridiculous!! Be warned customers, especially if moving from Europe to the Emirates.
Update 27th July: they got in touch, promised my stuff would be shipped on the 25th of July, and again, I heard nothing. It’s been almost 3 months they are holding my stuff in Holland. Unbelievable how terrible this is!!!!

I've moved several times over the years, and Schmidt was easily the smoothest experience I've had with a moving company to date. Everything was worked as it should: on time and efficient with clear updates along the way. The movers themselves were very pleasant and worked quickly and efficiently with zero fuss.

They have managed two shipments from Australia and Singapore to Europe. The communication from the office team in Netherlands is very good, responsive, and helpful. They were able to resolve all issues during the shipment process and took care of the logistics and import paper work. I have experience with two of their unpacking teams who were excellent and exceeded expectations.

Worst moving experience ever. Schmidt Global

+They changed the information at the last minute and the contract was unclear, with no delivery deadline specified. They promised 1-4 weeks delivery, but it took over 5 weeks.

+Called 2 hours before pickup to reschedule when I was leaving the country the next day.

+Added a surprise €50 charge 6 weeks after giving them my address details.

+Items arrived damaged
+they refused the service to assemble a wardrobe we paid for (said they "forgot" to include it)
+damaged our wall during delivery.

+Customer service was incredibly rude - when I asked about delays, they said "let's move forward" and dismissed my concerns.

Paid for professional service, got careless movers, and terrible customer care.

One of the best services !!!! Highly recommend to do business with this company,my goods arrived on time and no damages,all the team was very helpful including delivery team ,very friendly and professional guys,if I need another move of course this going to be my option,thanks again to take care of my family goods!!!!

Schmidt took care of the final leg of getting (some of) our belongings from Hong Kong to the Netherlands. They were very easy to communicate with, gave excellent instructions and delivered as promised. Awesome stuff!

We moved from the USA to Amsterdam and used IVL to pick up our goods and deliver them to Amsterdam using Schmidt Global via a shared container. Both companies were excellent in handling our move.

I subsequently realized that we could have used Schmidt for the pick up and drop off. They were excellent throughout the process of clearing customs, separating our goods, getting street permits and delivering them on time with no damages or loss. Bianca was excellent in keeping us up to date and handing all logistics but they also are implementing a “move tracker” to provide live status updates on your shipment. Their pricing is also fair.

I highly recommend them for any move within Europe or across the ocean.

Perfect moving solution end-to-end: the team were highly professional, efficient and responsive. I moved from Switzerland to the UK with absolutely no problems. Some scuffs on my table upon delivery (something always happens in a move, it's to be expected!), the delivery team proactively pointed this out and we are working to a resolution. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend to others :)

My shipment finally arrived safe and sound. Boxes looked like new as if they had not travel such a long journey. from Doha (Qatar) to Spain. The service of the packers in Doha was very amicable and profesional. They asure me that it would be the same on arrival and it was. My movers very excepcionally profesional on arrival, very kind and understanding as i had a few requests. they helped me with everything i asked. Very very happy with them. My only concerned is not knowing when the shipment would arrive. It would have been great to be able to track my shipment for my own insurance of time of arrival. Also, I was not told how to communicate with your company, nobody told me, even i requested another form of communication I was not told about the whastapp possibility. I thank each and everyone of you involved with my shipment. I am very very happy with the whole experience and I will recommended to anyone in need of such company and for sure i will use it again if i needed it. Thank you all! great work!!

I moved from Australia to the Netherlands, and they handled everything once the ship took off. I am pleased with the service. I was able to track everything online and live. I was never left in the dark; I have always received prompt responses. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend and will work again.
