Just left the Norwich 2026 event
Just left the Norwich 2026 event. Profoundly disappointing. 1 sausage vendor, and didn’t have 3 of the flavours we wanted. Not sure how this can be called a sausage festival! In fairness, there were quite a few ciders, but none especially nice. Felt like a rip off, in all honesty

Got told I couldn’t have an umbrella as it was classed as weapon and after when I left went to collect my umbrella “weapon” from security but it wasn’t there and was stolen and other umbrella were just on the floor in a pile in the rain to be collected and got told if yours has been taken to take someone else’s from the pile
Sausage & cider selection was the wűrst
Sausage & cider selection was the Wűrst…
This was Stoke on 06/09/25 for those that wanna know.
The one star was purely for the fact that the event was walking distance from home.
The selection of ciders and sausages that was on offer could be counted on one hand, the promoters could have saved a chunk of money on the promotional material by just calling it a festival instead.
The Oasis tribute was lacklustre and unenthusiastic at best, looking and sounding nothing like the real deal. And when Barry from Eastenders of 25 years ago took to the stage, proudly proclaiming that he was still milking his karaoke ‘win’ from celebrity stars in their eyes 20+ years ago, that sealed the deal for us and we decided to go and spend our money in Wetherspoons instead!
All in all an awfully disappointing and woeful experience all round, only saved by the fact that we bought the tickets in advance back in March from a promotional flyer using the discount code on the official booking website instead of the one listed on the flyer, and actually paid less than £4 per ticket INCLUDING the booking fee. Those people who paid more (up to £40 per ticket with booking fee) were clearly fleeced of their hard earned money and should demand a refund.
Stoke sausage and cider festival
I actually really enjoyed this event despite the negative reviews we read prior to going. We attended the Stoke sausage and cider festival on the 06/09. There was a queue but this moved quickly, staff seemed pleasant and polite with us all day. The acts were very good and entertaining. Scouting for girls were amazing. The only negative I had is that the food/ drinks were pricey but that was expected at an event like this. They did run out of a few ciders but again it was a very busy event. We did have a lot of space around us though and I didn't feel cramped.
Would go again next year!
At Camperdown Park...dreadful
At Camperdown Park...dreadful. Hardly any bands on. Scouting for girls cancelled. Baraoke?? What the heck...twice. Craig Charles ..didn't even talk to the audience and looked miserable.. No artisan sausages or cider. Big queues to get in. We didn't stay long. I would like my ticket money back. This was money grabbing pure and simple. Sorry I bothered!!!
Absolute worst festival i have ever been to! Never again!
Our recent experience at the sausage and cider festival Winchester, can only be described as shambolic.
I had bought tickets back in April and spent close to £120 for 3 tickets. Was very much looking forward to this local event with my partner and my 72-year-old mother. Understandably the weather cannot be helped, and it wash out, but as a seasoned festival goer and used to the British weather we were not deterred by this.
We arrived from the train station just after 2 pm to be greeted with a queue that led back to the sports centre at the entrance. I understand people need to be searched to keep the crowd safe however the absolute chaos of the entry system was absolutely horrendous. I attended boomtown this year with 80k people and security was like a well-oiled machine and we were in within 30 minutes to a large scale festival. There was no queue for disabled people and people struggling in wheelchairs in the mud. When asked why there was a family queue and no disabled one the security guy just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. People in wheelchairs were made to wait in the pouring rain up to 2 hours before getting in.
After a prolonged 2 hour wait, and we finally arrived to the security check, there was 2 people on for an event of that scale? 2 people???? Now with the amount of time I waited i expected full body search and bag search, no they just held my chair and handed back to me. But what i am most upset about is my 72 year old mother had her large umbrella taken on ff her as security said it could be used as a weapon? Used as a weapon MY 72 YEAR OLD FRAIL MOTHER????? I tried to reason with security to get it back and they wouldn't even listen to me. They were very rude and abrasive and VERY unhelpful. So my mum then had to sit in the pouring rain to see her favourite act we had paid nearly £120 to see with no rain cover as it was taken off her. Im not being funny the chairs could be used as weapons, i could have had a knife in my bag as they didnt even search that yet took my mother's umbrella.
Also for a sausage and cider festival where was the sausages? We only saw 1 van serving sausage and mash? Drinks were outrageously priced and despite the weather (which can I add i understand you will have no control over), the festival itself was a disaster from security to organisation to the treatment of my poor mum.
I only even give feedback if something is extremely good or extremely bad and unfortunately the festival is the latter. I must say I wont be attending one of these events again and i would also like an explanation as to why the security team felt it necessary take my elderly mums only form of protection from the elements off her that day.
I am a very unhappy customer!
Winchester - avoid at all costs
Unfortunately, I originally wrote this at home while the event was still ongoing. The event was extremely poorly organised, and my family and I left very disappointed after spending £200 on tickets. We have left early due to the massive disappointment.
Firstly, the queues on arrival were unacceptable. We waited almost two hours to get in, which resulted in us missing a large portion of the act we had specifically booked to see. (Scouting for Girls).
Secondly, the advertised line-up was changed without any prior notice. The act we had planned our day around was moved from 10:00pm to 4:00pm. As we had booked train tickets to coincide with the original time, this change made it impossible for us to see the full performance. We had to instead drive our own car. After spending £40 per ticket (a total of £200 for five tickets), this felt like a complete waste.
On top of this, the behaviour of some staff members was wholly unprofessional. Bar staff were openly rude and insulting to customers, with some even calling people names. This kind of language is unacceptable at any event, let alone one that families are attending.
Overall, the festival was poorly organised, and the lack of communication and disrespectful staff made the experience extremely disappointing.
If I could have given a review with 0 stars I would have.
*UPDATE - they have since responded to my email complaint, stating they will not consider any type of refund. They are offering tickets to the 2026 event. Poor customer service.
Terrible event! Waste of time and money
We attended the Winchester sausage and cider event and I would 100% agree with the other reviewers, it was awful! Really long queues, poor variety on food and drink. Event staff were rude and it was terribly organised. We were still in the queue for two of the acts, by the time we got in and overpaid for cans of cider we were all thoroughly fed up and left after Scouting for Girls. I would never go to this event again. Waste of time and money.
Do not bother
The queue was over 2 hours to get in.
The first act started at 2pm, they didn't open the gates until 2pm. So they only performed to a handful of people.
The security guards were stripping apart baby buggies, checking every camping chair, bag, and taking away golf umbrellas as they "had a spike". However the security guard for the VIP queue was letting in anyone who "looked old" or who had an 18 year old with them. One guy had to dispute with him that he should be let in due to his disability but that was a hard arguement to make! By the time we got to the entrance a main security guard to not bother with most of the checks and change the standards of what was let in. People then had golf umbrellas allowed and easier bag checks. People had to then go back and fight for their umbrellas back.
Then you get to the food and drink... Only 2 stalls sold a sausage! And you can pay over £6 for a can of cider, probably expectable from a festival.
And a 30 minute queue for the toilets.
In summary, don't buy a VIP ticket if you have a limp or look old or under 18. And expect to queue and miss a couple of acts!
Got searched at the gates as everyone…
Got searched at the gates as everyone was. Was told i had something in my coat pocket, when I had nothing in my pocket!!! Security were so rude!!! Who do they think they are, only security people. Then after that showed my tkts on my phone, then was told I had already used them!!! What's that all about?? It was plain to see & read that it was for that day!! When we got food, steak was disgusting 🫣 it was pink, we were told that was the only way they cooked it!! It was £16 for this & chips!!! Lastly, far too many children there....there were more kids there than adults!!! We won't be back. Music was average, good enough for tributes I suppose.
Better than Expected
Negatives - be prepared for a lengthy queue to enter. The organisers can't be held responsible for the majority of the attendees arriving just before start time, however given the quantity of negative reviews on queuing, you would think they would have reviewed and addressed accordingly -unfortunately not. Better channelling and signing would improve the experience significantly - we endured a 50 mins queue, however it did continually move, so was not that arduous.
Positive experience with the staff, all of who we encountered were polite and professional. Toilets were good in terms of capacity and cleanliness. Food and drink was also fine. I didn't think between £6.50 -£7 was overly excessive for a pint of cider/beer, given prices in the south of England. Plenty of choice for authentic cider as well, though not that much choice for sausages, but other decent food offerings.
We didn't find that we were cramped, lots of space at Winchester venue. As to the important matter of music, all the tributes bands we saw were really good and Scouting for Girls were excellent and immensely exceeded expectations and were worth the admittance alone. We endured probably the most dampest Sausage and Cider festival in 2025 (the rain was relentless), however, we still had a great time, though bailed out early due to the rain. All said would definitely consider returning.
Security Guard stollen our snacks
It was absolute terrible this event never going again, terrible check in service took some snacks and a drinks and some sweets with us they were taken of us and when we left (2 hours later) and I saw a security guard with our bag of snacks and didn’t let us have them back at all. eating them as we were leaving and also I saw the security guard eating my packet of milky way magic stars
Run by unorganised unprofessionals
Run by unorganised unprofessionals, I was kicked out because I hurt the general managers ego by telling him his event wasn’t great. He then got every Stewart looking for me and then kicked me out and lied said I had called him names like child. He was infact the biggest man baby I think I’ve ever came across. Don’t go overpriced for something that’s not that good.
****Guildford 02/08/2025****
All these 1 STAR ratings are fake?
Guildford Sausage & Cider fest was easily 5/5 Stars.
- Queuing at main entrance was standard 20min wait.
- Quite a range of ciders, but they also had your basic beers, and spirits! Something for everyone!
- Shops, Axe throwing, Silent disco, Stage/Area for the children.
- Plenty of Port-a-loos, so no queuing.
- Funny entertainment between some sets/bands like: Sausage eating comp & Live Karaoke that was hilarious.
- VIPs had their own section & own bar, benches and shade!
- Staff were lovely.
I don't know if other places were just terrible, hence their ratings- where they toured. But Guildford was an flawless experience!!
Sad disappointing event
You’d think something billed as a sausage and cider festival would sell sausages but no, the only ones available were from a hot dog stall. I also expected a variety of ciders from a variety of suppliers but no, it seemed just one supplier and what a sampled could hardly be classed as cider. Mojito cider?
A disappointing experience
2025 was terrible compared to last year.
The line up was poor, frankly, not helped by the sound engineering - we were sat 2/3rds of the way back from the main stage, and the noise from the kids stage drowned out the main stage.
And the staff in the main bar were terrible, and kept trying to rip us off. Every time one of my group made an order they messed up the prices.
Very disappointed, frankly.
Harassed by security
I wasn’t given a wrist band on entry and therefore got taken away to check my pass and to get a wrist band. They then surrounded me with 8+ security guards to check my ID, bank card and my social media as they didn’t believe that I was 18+. horrid experience from this place as i’ve been harassed more than once about them not believe i have a real ID

Went to guildford 2025 version.
Ques were terrible i qued for 30mins just for them to let 68 people behind us to walk in first.
Staff running festival dont know what there doing I kept getting sent to a different person just to get a simple question answered.
Security took away our blanket said it was for safety reason. But I seen half of the people sitting on blanket they bought from home.
On a positive note once your in food is lovely and beer is nice but all is expensive
Augage and cider festival 25
Sausage and cider festival 25. Slow long ques, very small entrance with limited staff, for the size of the event. Bags checked as no food and only a bottle of water aloud in. Disgusting.😡
NO ICE WARM BEER MARQUEE WAY TOO HOT!
How can you put on a summer function and have NO ICE ? Warm Beer ! Plus the food stands were very very very expensive and not particularly good. The Bands were very good, if you could bare to stand in the Marquee. It was not a hot day 22-24 degrees, but in the tent it must of been 36/40 degrees. If it was a hotter day like it has been this year I'm not sure how the bands could perform and how any one could stand and watch them. they need a rethink and a way to cool the Marquee. they could have at least open some of the sides ? Dangerously too hot in there ! SO the only good thing was the music
