Worst customer service ever! Been a member of the gym for many years and I tried to get information about the charge i got but didn’t get any help. Non-emphatetic and rude customer service I’ve ever experienced. Cancelled my membership after this incident.

Disappointing Experience with SATS Customer Service:
I have been a loyal SATS member for many years, and while the gym facilities and staff are excellent, my recent experience with their customer service has been extremely frustrating.
At the beginning of the year, I requested an invoice to be sent to my company so I could use my annual gym allowance. Despite sending 12 emails and multiple reminders, I received no response. I even asked for a customer service representative to call me directly to resolve the issue… still, no reply.
Eventually, I decided to cancel my subscription, and even then, no one followed up or acknowledged my concerns.
It is unfortunate that while SATS is very responsive and welcoming when signing up new members, their support for existing customers is severely lacking. I’m very disappointed.

I expected much better from a gym like SATS, but the customer service has been nothing short of frustrating. Staff members seem disinterested and unhelpful, and when I needed assistance with my membership, I was met with rude and unprofessional responses. It feels like they don’t care about their members at all once you’ve signed up.
There’s no proper follow-up, no willingness to resolve issues, and overall a complete lack of basic courtesy. A place focused on health and well-being should at least treat its members with respect. Very disappointing experience.

We had a payment issue and they helped refund me back my money, which I didn’t expect especially in Sweden.. so for that 5stars

I am appalled by your staff's totally incompetent mismanagement of the incident which happened this afternoon at SATS DN Skrapan.
Firstly, your Instructor giving a class at 17:00hrs on the treadmills was astonishingly arrogant toward me. He needs to take a class in basic etiquette and customer service before he is allowed to deliver a class where other humans are involved. What a shockingly rude individual he is!
Secondly, your manager Louise, who admitted that the gym was in the wrong with the information it provided on site, did not have the basic courtesy to rectify the situation for me and I was left fuming in anger with the dreadfully disingenuous manner that you treated me. I am shocked by your blasé attitude Louise. I never expected this from you!
Thirdly, all the staff (there were around 4 women employees and you know who you are) who were at the reception desk at 17:10hrs should be fired for their spectacular failure and incompetence to efficiently manage the situation. Their incompetence was laughably outrageous.
The way how badly and disrespectfully you treated me today really takes the gall. I have been a loyal customer of SATS for the last 20 odd years. This is the way you treat your loyal customers. How extraordinary!
Anyone considering joining SATS DN Skrapan, think twice before joining, for their staff and management will treat you with complete disrespect and with sheer incompetence.

Sandra who works for Sats in customer service was exceptional from the get go. Took into consideration thhe customer (myself) situation, listened looked into the matter and solved it. Sandra gave the customer service experience everyone should receive. I would strongly recommend that she trains others to give the same service/ experience that she gave to me and I'm sure she gives on a daily basis.

Gyms are fine. People get results, or they don’t. That’s not the issue.
The issue is SATS. Or more precisely, the entire gym oligopoly in Scandinavia, with SATS as a prime example of what happens when Private Equity meets public health and nobody pushes back.
Let’s start with the trainers. SATS locks personal trainers into rigid contracts that strip them of independence. They can’t set their own prices, can’t work outside the system, and take home a fraction of what they’d earn in a free market. SATS benefits from the illusion of quality, but the reality is price fixing and control, not meritocracy
But the real story is what happens to members. People aren’t just locked into contracts—they’re entangled in legalese so dense and confusing that even the most diligent customer struggles to make sense of what they’ve signed. Terms are written to obscure, not clarify. “Free months” become automatic extensions. “Intro offers” morph into full-year commitments. Cancellation windows are narrow, process-bound, and deeply buried in the fine print.
This isn’t an accident. It’s behavioral design. SATS applies the full toolkit of consumer psychology—nudges, friction, and cognitive overload—to make it easier to stay than to leave. If you’ve ever tried to cancel and failed, it wasn’t because you were careless. It was because they designed it to be confusing. Complexity is their strategy.
And yet they have the audacity to pretend they’re serving us. With scale, reach, and massive backing, you’d think SATS could afford to treat trainers better, offer more flexible services, and build genuine client loyalty. But no. The model isn’t loyalty—it’s entrapment. It’s about extracting the maximum possible revenue per person, and locking in recurring income streams from people too confused or exhausted to opt out.
This isn’t a gym. It’s a textbook case of a Private Equity machine, dressed up in motivational quotes and Instagram filters. None of us win in this model- Sincerely hoping for more diversity in this sad market.

I wanted to buy SATS Premium which includes all gyms, but apparently when you go to Åre, it costs an additional 80kr. If I change my membership to Åre, then I lose access to all other gyms and have to pay 80kr. Then what is the point of premium?
I made changes to my account on their website, and now my account is frozen and I have to call customer service. The online chat service doesn't work, and when calling customer service phone line, you realise they have very limited hours.

I went online to check prices and availability. when I saw the prices I felt that I needed to think about signing up since I have other activities too apart from gym. I specifically remember there being a box where you could accept that SATS can use your number to call in marketing purposes. I specifically Did NOT check the box. I left the site as was. The day after - someone from SATS called. And today it happened again. This is NOT allowed.
Update: to answer: if I do not check that box- I dont want to be contacted and you shouldnt. I also registrered my
No in NIX, so it is problematic despite of what you wrote in your answer. :)

Great gym, clean and well maintained. A little overpriced but otherwise a good gym. I can recommend it if you have one close to your house or work.
