Camino de Santiago to Fisterra – A Quiet, Scenic, and Rewarding Journey
I chose to walk the Camino to Fisterra for its lush greenery, scenic diversity, and relative tranquility compared to the more popular Sarria to Santiago route. This trail offers a beautiful blend of forest paths, rural landscapes, and, towards the end, spectacular coastal views — all with minimal urban intrusion. For someone seeking peace, solitude, and a deeper connection with nature, this route is ideal.
My arrangements with Santiago Ways were limited to accommodation bookings and baggage transfers. While the services were quite basic, they were carried out reliably and without any issues. The accommodation options were very good — a mix of comfortable lodges, charming rural inns, and a couple of well-appointed 3-star hotels, which offered a nice variety throughout the journey.
As a birder, the quieter and greener Finisterre route provided an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in nature. I was able to spot 52 bird species along the way, which was one of the highlights of my journey. The peaceful trails allowed me to take my time, observe birdlife, and enjoy the changing landscapes without the distractions of crowds or heavy urban development.
Unlike the Sarria–Santiago stretch, which is great for socializing and meeting fellow pilgrims, the Finisterre route offers a more introspective experience. Of course, you still meet kindred spirits along the way, but the focus here is more on nature, solitude, and personal reflection.
Overall, this was a memorable and fulfilling adventure — perfect for nature lovers, birders, and those looking for a less-traveled and more serene Camino experience.

The accommodation and the luggage transfers had been close to flawless, except for maybe 1 accommodation that was further away from the Camino pathway but we managed to get the settled rather quickly.

Santiago Ways Porto to Santiago by Bike
Alba was always available to answer our questions as we planning our trip and while on the trip. The accommodations were great. There was plenty of choice of foods at the breakfasts. The luggage was there every day but two when we arrived at our hotel. It arrived within an hour or two of us arriving on the other two days.

Accomodation was varied from Exceptional to Average - all up we were very happy with the range of accommodation provided by Santiago Ways.

Stress-Free Booking and Arrangement for the Camino
Booking with Santiago Ways was very easy and convenient. The agent who assisted me (Maria Alejandra) was very responsive when it came to answering my questions about the stages of our Camino; how the bicycles will be delivered and returned; and the types of accommodations we would be staying in. From the delivery of the bikes to the accommodations themselves, I was very pleased. One constructive feedback on one of the places we stayed was the fact the caretaker of the place couldn't be there the next day, so our breakfast was given to us in a grocery bag the night before and consisted of a bocadillo, some muffins, juice and water, and yogurt. We also had to pay for coffee sold in a vending machine at the rural hotel we stayed in. Other than this one issue, the rest of the trip was stress-free, and we had a wonderful Camino.

Don't really have any complaints, the luggage transfer was perfect. The individual hotels were very different some were quite high end, others not so much but perfectly fine. All very clean.

The hotels were great. Showers especially good with no shortage of hot water. No issues at all with luggage transport. I would use them again!

Camino de Santiago-Portugues Coastal Route
I walked the Portugues Camino de Santiago Coastal Route from Porto.
Santiago Ways looked after booking my rooms and transferring my luggage.
I hiked the route with my 79 year old mother. It was so nice not to have to worry about anything other than the hike.
Our luggage always showed up before we did.
The instructions were detailed and everything went smoothly.
I would recommend Santiago Ways and will use them when hiking future Caminos.
