Starfall/Skyfall , Sarah/Sophie is to holiday homes what Cyril Smith was to hangliding. An anbsolute nightmare to deal with, unreliable, underhand, uncommunicative, and totally unbelievable.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
DO NOT USE Salcombe Holiday Homes !!!!
They are a shocking company who don’t give a sh.t about their customers. It’s just a numbers game to them as they are part of multiple group companies ending up in the Cayman Islands.
We were just two weeks late to pay our final balance as the reminder email went to the junk folder. They cancelled our booking without warning, emailing, texting or phoning us. They didn’t even tell us they had cancelled our booking. I only got the £600 deposit back by threatening legal action. Otherwise they would have quite happily kept that and rented the property no doubt for a higher price.
We have now lost our summer holiday which we do every year with the rest of our extended family staying the same week. I’ve since learned their reputation and reviews are appalling.
Be warned don’t be a day late in paying your balance or pay the whole thing up front. But having said that reading other reviews they double book properties, book you into the wrong property, cancel your booking with no notice, so that might not secure your holiday anyway !
Absolutely shockingly bad company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! ZERO STARS. Cottages.com and Salcombe Holiday Homes
We were told via a phone call 2 HOURS before we were due to check in to our holiday cottage that this inept company had double booked it and we were unable to go on our holiday. The car was packed, we were on our way with our toddler and me 7 months pregnant with NOWHERE to stay. No apology from the lady on the phone. Me calling other holiday agencies in tears to see if we could find any other accommodation. The WORST holiday experience ever. Reading other reviews it seems we are not alone with double bookings appearing to be commonplace. To add insult to injury 3 weeks later we still haven’t received a refund for our accommodation that THEY cancelled. They do not answer the phone so there is no way to contact them. We will be seeking legal advice and seeing cottages.com, salcombe holiday homes. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!!!!!
Beware - part of cottages.com
