I've had a number of home mortgages over the years. Ruoff stands out as the most iincompetent mortgage provider I've ever dealt with. The process of getting the mortgage was needlessly, ridiculously difficult.due to their faulty web portal and poor communication.
When I made the first few payments, their PO Box was not even operating. Checks were returned and they then charged me late fees and extra interest.When I paid off a huge portion of the loan, they lost the paperwork and created more fees and interest for me. Finally, they opened an escrow account without my permission and allegedly bought home insurance for me. However, I already had home insurance and I had provided them with the documentation. Dealing with this company was hard from the beginning to the end.
