Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud for teams building, training, and scaling AI applications. Developers use Runpod to move from experiment to production in one platform, with Pods for building, Serverless for shipping inference workloads, and Clusters for scaling larger deployments. Runpod gives AI and ML builders access to GPU and CPU compute without forcing them into a heavyweight cloud workflow. Teams can launch GPU environments, bring their own containers and frameworks, deploy serverless GPU endpoints, manage storage, monitor workloads, and run closer to users across global regions. Runpod supports a broad range of GPU options, from workstation-class cards to high-memory accelerators, so developers can choose the right compute for prototyping, fine-tuning, inference, rendering, research, and production workloads. Runpod is built for developers who want infrastructure that stays out of the way. The platform supports common AI workflows such as model training, fine-tuning, image and video generation, LLM inference, agent systems, and compute-heavy applications. Startups, AI-native teams, researchers, and infrastructure teams use Runpod when they need flexible cloud compute, straightforward APIs, container control, and a path from early experimentation to production deployment. For product help, billing questions, platform status, and account support, visit runpod.io or contact support@runpod.io. Customers can also find platform updates and status information from the Runpod website.

The service is not super consistent

The service is not super consistent, prices are creeping up, and the quality is going down. They have been talking about network drives that could deploy on any pod in any region since I joined but its still not a reality. The pods get bogged down when there is heavy traffic in a region. Idk. Some days there is no gpu availability for hours at a time. Known templates fail to deploy, even though the templates had not been changed since the last successful deployment. Uploads and downloads can be as low as 30kbps... making a seevice useless where loading a 30 gig model is common. They are making changes to deployment pages instead of addressing these issues.

Thanks for the detailed review. You called out several areas that matter directly to production workflows: GPU availability, network storage, template reliability, regional load, and transfer speeds.

We will route this feedback internally so the right teams can review it. If any of these issues are still blocking you, please contact support at https://contact.runpod.io with the workload, region, GPU type, and timeframe.

RunPod: Where Persistence Goes to Die and Your Time Gets Fleeced

I would give zero stars if I could. I just spent over 50 hours and a pile of money trying to get a basic AI agent setup (OpenClaw) working with "persistent storage" on RunPod.

The marketing says Network Volumes give you reliable persistence.

The reality? A pathetic joke. Files kept installing to ephemeral locations that get wiped every single restart, no matter how many symlinks, PATH hacks, or support tickets I tried. I lost all progress multiple times, had to reinstall everything from scratch repeatedly, and spent hours manually typing long API keys because their web console is garbage.

Their own support team eventually just shrugged and said "try creating a new pod lmfao."

Meanwhile, I moved to Paperspace and had a fully stable, persistent setup in under 1 hour.

If you enjoy burning massive amounts of time and money on a platform that can't even deliver basic persistence correctly, RunPod is perfect for you. If you actually want your data and configuration to survive a simple restart like a normal product should, run away as fast as you can.

Save yourself the headache. RunPod is great for disposable GPU experiments. For anything serious that needs to actually persist? Absolute trash.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Storage and persistence issues are painful because they can cost real time and work, and the support interaction you described is not the experience we want customers to have.

We will route this internally for review. If there is still an unresolved issue, please contact support at https://contact.runpod.io with the pod, volume, region, and ticket details so the team can take another look.

Thanks for sharing this. Serverless performance issues can be difficult to diagnose without workload-specific context, and we understand the frustration when workers do not behave as expected.

Please contact support at https://contact.runpod.io with the endpoint, region, and timeframe so the team can review what happened.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience, my server got reseted twice when training a model because of a setting change in the run pod panel that made it crash. Do not recommend, I thought paying more for a more professional service wasn't worth but it actually is.

Thanks for taking the time to share what happened. Losing progress during model training is a painful experience, especially when it appears connected to a setting or pod behavior.

If this issue is still unresolved, please contact support at https://contact.runpod.io with the pod, region, GPU type, and timeframe so the team can investigate the specific case.

Sudden billing spike on serverless endpoints — no clear explanation

We’ve been running a few serverless endpoints that were deployed about a month ago. Everything was stable and working as expected — no changes, no redeployments, no config updates.

Suddenly, we saw a sharp spike in billing over a short period. After reporting the issue, things returned to normal without us doing anything.

Instead of addressing the issue, they’re offering small credits, which don’t address the core issue.

I've tried several GPU rental providers…

I've tried several GPU rental providers but Runpod stands out - for the UX of their console and their great community. They also offer loads of useful tools and have almost perfect documentation if you are the kind to prefer self-help like me.

End of Honest Business Model

Honestly, it seems like the era of runpod being a good product is over. In the matter of a few tens of hours, they raised spot prices by 25%, then removed them entirely, then brought them back gated behind API. The spot functionality wasn't technical debt nor troublesome for the web UI; it was a simple plug and play with other HTML elements already on dashboards. This move then can be seen as nothing more than an choice to intentionally add layers of friction and abstraction so as to reduce the value of their product to their consumer base. It comes with a rotten smell for company incentives.

Scam company!!! Stay away!!

They estimated I have 50 minutes left in my pod, I needed 10 minutes to finish a Lora Training. After 2 minutes my pod was terminated. I wasted 10 hours of my life and $30. Pure scammers. Also, they never gave the first deposit bonus they promise if you come from affiliate links!!! STAY AWAY!

Outstanding Support & Professional Team

I had a very positive experience with Runpod. What really stood out to me was their responsiveness and professionalism it’s clear they genuinely care about their users and take feedback seriously.

A special thanks to Luke for his kind and professional approach. His response and support reflected a true customer-first mindset, which is something not easy to find these days.

In addition, the platform itself is very well designed easy to use, flexible, and suitable for different workloads. The overall experience feels smooth, and you can see the effort put into making things efficient for users.

The combination of a strong product and a professional support team shows great potential for the platform’s future growth.

I would definitely recommend Runpod to others, and I’ll be sharing my experience in both English and Arabic with my network.

No services are working. A classic scam.

No disk (pod) could be installed. No template works. The AI assistant helps you by actually doing everything yourself. Everything is wrong. You need to be a programmer to work here. I think this is a big scam. I think the authorities should deal with this platform, because this is a classic internet scam that wastes your time and money. I have been trying to configure the disk for 30 hours and have not succeeded with the help of all resources. Skip this if you don't want to be in hell.

Hit and miss, not good for a cloud provider

Sorry, but it was hit and miss. We'll likely reconsider our plans and possibly switch to a different cloud provider for our project as the experience was terrible.
It is quite a common problem for pods to have very slow network speeds, causing long pod start ups (>20 minutes) despite small Docker images (<2 GB).
Sometimes, the spawned GPU pods didn't have OPTIX available, sometimes they didn't even have CUDA! So, basically broken pods.
And these were "Secure cloud" pods.
I hardly imagine how this quality can be considered acceptable for a cloud provider.

Absolutely hopeless - avoid!!!!

Terrible, terrible service. Servers are now hardly ever available, even less so if you want to attach a permanent space disk to one. Can spend hours trying to find a server that works -then it might take hours to initiate (after uploading loads of data to it), and then crash again, meaning you have to restart. They create pods and storage areas on servers they know are broken. Customer service is basically non-existent, only a useless chatbot. Even if your server is down and you're promised not to be charged, they keep on charging you money. Truly a scam, should be shut down.
