The hotels were great
We loved all of our hotels except the one in Baden-Baden. It was a Holiday Inn and was not all that great. But I imagine it was the cheapest one in the area so that is what we got. Otherwise all the other hotels were spot on. We were very impressed.

When it comes to choosing them ahead of time, we've done our best to include all possible information about a hotel ahead of time to avoid any surprises (pleasant or unpleasant!). This includes mapping, listed facilities, pictures (provided by the hotel), and user reviews which can help verify a hotel's presentation of itself. Unfortunately, many hotels do only show their best face when advertised and the reality can be less than what was promised. We wish we could do more to avoid this but naturally have to rely on the hotel's information to some extent. On top of this, a smaller destination like Heidelberg is likely to have more limited options, as you guessed.
However, we'd be happy to help you check up on the quality of your chosen hotels before booking in the future to the best of our abilities - just let us know!

12 day Italy trip with my family …
I planned a 12 day trip with my family to Italy...I was able to visit 7 different regions at my own pace and in my own order. The best part was choosing hotels that were traditional to the Italian customs..we didn't want to stay in the big name hotels. Every hotel was fantastic

We used RoutePerfect for a 19 day trip …
We used RoutePerfect for a 19 day trip to Italy last summer. We loved being able to plan our trip and customize all the accommodations. We had a wonderful trip and loved being able to use this to plan out and book our trip... Great and would use again. It would be great if they offered this feature in other places.

RoutePerfect was a great service that I found online. I booked my trip to Ireland. I didn't have any particular plans of where exactly I wanted to go, or what to see, so the ability to rank my interests, and get ideas (and click to research the details), was just what I needed. All of the lodging I booked was great--friendly, clean, reasonably priced, and within walking distance from the train stations. At the time, I couldn't get train tickets through RoutePerfect, but the site directed me to the right website.
I recently had a trip to Washington DC, and am thinking about a trip to Nova Scotia, and again didn't have plans. I was disappointed to learn that RoutePerfect was only for Europe--I wish it worked for the US and Canada too!

Neat service but hotel ratings are off
I like the service, but when I used it to request 'moderate' hotels it put me in total dumps. I think there is a difference between what Americans and Europeans consider 'moderate'.

When it comes to hotel ratings, it's absolutely correct to infer that "moderate" and 3-star rated hotels in the U.S. are of a much higher standard than in Europe, where hotels have a much more basic standard and have to provide much more in order to be rated with 4 or 5 starts. Great at planing a route and identifying lodging options, be careful with booking.
Great at helping to create route and identify and book lodging options.- there are lots of choices at different star levels.
Be very very careful to read every word .......I thought that all lodging included breakfast, when I realized that one was presented and booked without it, I tried to make a change and was offered a ridiculously low "credit" for that room night. (I had booked a total of 12 nights through them). Although it may say changeable and cancellable, it is not totally refundable.

It was great!!! only trouble, the hotel in Limerick was waaay to far from the city and unaccesible on foot. We missed our bus to Dublin and had to wait more than two hours for the next one. A better location would have been great
