Under frustrating circumstances
Under frustrating circumstances, they were faultless and great to deal with. I'd ordered a piece of equipment that turned out the manufacturers had discontinued with no stock available; the only alternative was the new model, obviously at an unwelcome premium, but Ron Smith were immediate to offer a fair compromise on the price and the machine turned up days earlier than expected. So I'm very impressed with them, but realistically not on the market to buying too much more garden machinery in the near future. If I do, they'll be my first call.

Rapid attention to my order and the way it was dealt with. A message was sent when a problem arose and was dealt with most satisfactorily.
My machine was set up, ready to work, well packaged and delivered, and was kept up to date with all that was happening.

Took my money, nothing in stock
I ordered a garden chainsaw and extension kit. I had to call two weeks later to find out they didn't have any in stock. They were happy to take my money though.
Edit: asked for more info. See #90931. There was no indication at the time of sale that one item was out of stock. There were no updates via email or any other channel. I had to call up to see what was going on to be told the item may come into stock some time next week.

The pruner was showing as out of stock at the time of your order, as reflected in your order confirmation. However, we regret that we did not provide a timely update regarding the estimated restock date and that you had to contact us for an update.
Like most online retailers, payment is taken at the point of purchase, but we understand the frustration caused by the delay in communication. As soon as you requested a refund, it was processed the same day.
We appreciate your patience and will review our processes to ensure better communication in the future.
