Utterly amazed. I knew from research and reviews that Richard Freeman had a reputation as the man to go to when faced with road traffic offences but you never truly believe that you will get to be one of those people writing a review with a happy ending too.

After being arrested in my car with two charges; possession and drug driving, I was facing a criminal record, a long driving ban and a big fine which would have lead to other work consequences. I thought I had no chance of being acquitted and was resigned to just pleading guilty to get it over with. Richard looked at the case and immediately spotted multiple reasons as to why we should submit a not guilty plea with ‘no case to answer’.

Hiring Richard to represent me in court was one of the single best decisions I’ve ever made. Obviously, the best part was walking out of court today after being fully acquitted. However, what was really amazing was witnessing his abilities in the court room that led to the acquittal. It was quite something to hear his sheer knowledge of the law, the articulation and his years of experience. I remember thinking, “well, if this guy can’t get us the result we want, no one can”.

Richard is truly “Mr Technicality”, but he’s also a really great guy and I don’t know how I can ever repay him fully for giving me my life back against the odds. Thank you.

I instructed Richard Freeman’s RoadTrafficExperts law firm after finding myself charged with Drink Driving and Failure to stop and report an accident back in March 2022.

Naturally, I was both horrendously stressed and frustrated with myself in equal measure for allowing myself to end up in such a position. I knew a conviction of this kind would spell the end of my career and would cause me extreme difficulty.

After some extensive research into the policies and procedures surrounding the taking of urine samples in DUI cases, I became concerned that procedures may not have been adhered to in my case.

After contacting multiple different firms who cut me off half way through my version of events and told me I “had to plead guilty”, I contacted Richard Freeman and Co.

Richard himself took my initial inquiry and immediately started to ask probing questions surrounding the actions taken by the police.

He identified that, based on what I had told him, there was a good chance that due procedure had not been followed and as such I was potentially facing an inflated alcohol reading due to the sample being taken incorrectly!

I first appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in June of 2023 where Mr William Mackay appeared on my behalf. The case was plagued with difficulty, largely associated with Crown Toxicology Witnesses failing to attend. I was finally found not guilty of drink driving on 28th Feb 2025. A guilty plea was entered for the failure to stop and report charge and I received the minimum amount of points (5) and a reasonable fine.

To summarise, Richard Freeman and Co, with particular reference to his colleague William Mackay, are extremely experienced and skilled solicitors. They will go over the evidence presented to the court with a fine toothed Comb and will defend you to the best of their ability.

Take no notice of the negative reviews on here, if you have a defence Richard Freeman and co will find it, and If you have even the slightest concern about the validity of what you’ve been charged with, these guys are the ones to instruct!
