I'm a late adopter of RM's and really only got them because of needing a dressy but not formal set of boots/shoes to wear going out. 4 months in and I'm used to the feel - for me they were more comfor... See more

Due to their website problems I experienced difficulties with information and getting a shipping label after a rude experience with AJ I I made a complaint I paid my money for a resole of the boots and shipped the boots A week Later AJ informs me that the boots cannot be repaired because the leather is damaged and claims that I sent photos It’s total bullshit and they still have my boots be very careful of this company lots of customer service problems occurring.

Utter Garbage

Utter Garbage. The lining in my right boot wore through above the toe and the left under the toe. I had to have a cobbler replace the heel rubber as well because that fell off. These are meant to be premium boots.
Never again. My $150 Wittner boots have lasted 5 years. My $800 RMs lasted 3 months. I expect that from Kmart shoes
They used to be a good brand

I’m extremely disappointed with my…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with R.M. Williams.

I purchased a pair of boots in Australia less than two months ago, expecting the high quality and durability the brand is known for and actively markets (“crafted for life”). Unfortunately, the boots developed significant issues almost immediately — including cracking in the leather and structural problems with the sole and heel.

Before contacting R.M. Williams, I had the boots assessed by an independent cobbler, who confirmed that there were clear construction faults from the outset, particularly with the heel stitching not properly securing the structure.

I then contacted customer service and was initially told the boots could be assessed and repaired. Based on that, I sent them in.

After inspection, they refused to repair them, claiming the leather was “too dry” and that the damage was not due to a manufacturing fault. This is after less than two months of normal use.

When I challenged this — referencing Australian Consumer Law and the fact that a product should be durable and of acceptable quality — I received a generic response stating that their decision was “final.”

Since then, they have simply stopped responding altogether.

This is not just about the product, but how the situation has been handled:
• A product failing after two months is not acceptable for a premium brand
• Clear signs of construction issues were dismissed
• Responsibility was shifted onto the customer
• Communication stopped when I requested escalation

For a company that builds its reputation on quality and longevity, this is deeply disappointing and not in line with consumer expectations or rights under Australian Consumer Law.

I would strongly reconsider purchasing from R.M. Williams based on both product quality and after-sales support.

boots delivered used

I have just purchased two pairs of boots (1400) and one paid has been delivered used.

Customer service (Nataliya) was no help, apparently the best they can do is I submit a refund and then wait for the refund, and then buy new boots? The customer service is not worth the price.

Well I’m 56 and found a tier one 1️⃣ product …

Well I’m 56 and found a quality product that suits my age. I was once an Italian boot enthusiast but discovered Australian made of the same if not better quality and no doubt based on the amount of RM I’ve purchased I should own an outlet. If I could I would. The CARINDALE and Gardencity staff are stupendous in service and relational matters.
If you enjoy quality like myself then RM Williams is your best choice.

Harbour Town RMW - FABULOUS FELICITY

The instore experience at the RMW Harbour Town store is always friendly, professional, and feels like coming home. Special mention to Felicity instore, as she always remembers me and I am happy to travel the 90Minutes to that specific store because of her.

Been wearing RM boots since I was 20

Been wearing RM boots since I was 20, now 60. Bought a pair recently for $449 down from ~$600. Thought that was strange. Anyhow the day after I bought them there were scuffs on the toe from getting out of the car. There's also scratches on the heel and the worst part - the right boot has developed a loud squeak like I stepped on a dog chew toy. People here me coming from 50 metres. Bet Andrew 'Twiggy' Forest doesn't wear them.

Disappointed to say the least.

Ordered a pair of signature boots for my husband for his 60th birthday. Have had zero communication you would think spending that much money in this economy you would hear from them on a progress situation telling you what stage of production your boots are at but nope nothing. Have spoken online to customer service inverted commas and they have been useless to be honest left feeling still very unsure of when they will be ready. Its been 6 weeks which apparently is normal but i was never informed about this in store when i purchased them.

Wonderful in/store and online shopping…

Wonderful in/store and online shopping experiences. Products never fail, with quality workmanship and materials. Always love the range and it’s hard to pass on the temptation to treat myself and/or my husband or Dad (who introduced me to this Australian brand at a young age).

High price for cheap quality

Bought my third pair of RM Williams boots in June 2023 and the sole has split. Customer 'care' says that two and half years is the 'expected lifetime' of a boot sole.

My last pair went 15 years before needing a resole.

Seems RM Williams is yet another historic brand that no longer delivers the substance it once promised as it increases prices and reduces quality. Old Man Williams must be spinning in his grave.
