Basic care is crap my mum is left for hours waiting for water & pain relief. She's picked up a bug & Covid in hospital her basic needs aren't met she's ignored. She's deteriorated since going into hospital so nurses are rude to her. She went in with back pain but ended up with temperatures, & oxygen they said it wasn't Covid. But day 12 she picked Covid up, when I couldn't even see my own mum. So she picked it up in hospital, now she has a bug. But none of the nurses know what it is because she's probably picked it up in hospital. She got a chest infections water kidney infection in there. She was asking to go to the toilet but was lefted to wee in pads. Up to 3 hours wait for pain relief for her back at bed time. If she slept she missed breakfast or lunch no one would ask her if she wanted anything to eat a cup of tea or toast. Calling the hospital to try to speak to a nurse or doctor I get cut off or left to wait for hospital this is a rubbish hospital. Some of the nurses carers are really rude horrible but not all of them. Just can't wait to get my mum home.

A hospital overflowing with bad practice. I was there with a broken leg a few years ago and was distraught to see how the treated the elderly on the ward. One patient just had a hip replacement and also suffered with something like dementia and couldn’t communicate properly, he kept repeating words related to his pain like pain killers etc. The poor fellas leg which had only just been operated on was hanging over the bed for so long that I ended up getting up and hopping over to him with a brace around my ankle holding 3 fractures together pre-op as no one was coming any time soon.
The second guy was definitely in a bad way and was in a permanent sitting position for some reason. I remember him telling me about himself and that he was a lecturer or something like that and his wife was deceased, they used to have to do regular bed changes and they would come marching into the ward in the middle of the night like storm troopers roughing him around to change him offering no reassurance to his startled complaints, they wouldn’t even give this poor old guy a chance to wake up it was frightening and sickening to see this guy who’s contributed to society all his life be treated like this in what I believed was probably his last short time alive as he was very old and very sick.
Yes that was a few years ago, but what makes me raise this now is my own elderly mother has been in A+E since yesterday and out of the 8 times I’ve phoned I’ve got through to her ward once! They put you on hold and pass you around until you finally reach her ward, then cut your call off. I had this same experience the last time she was there.
What kind of management do they have there for a practice like cutting off family members phone calls trying to get information on people rushed to hospital to be that prevalent?

I was sent to the crisis team at The Royal Liverpool Hospital back in 2014 after suffering from very serious anxiety and depression. I was told by the head of the crisis team that ''there was no magic happy pill'' to make me better, and to ''just go home and watch TV.''
After trying to end my life, I was sectioned and it was the best thing that happened to me, as I was treated properly and was put on medication, to which I responded very well to. I have been stable since being sectioned, so I thought I'd write a review to help others who have unfortunately been told ''there is no magic happy pill'' when in fact, there is. Don't give up, and visit a different hospital to this one. I just feel awful for all the other poor people who were told the same as me, and they unfortunately went through with ending their lives.

I have been a patient numerous times here and iv had nothing but respect, dignity and care from all the staff, ward 5a thank you for looking after me ❤️❤️🌈
