Very Disappointing

My experience with Royal Jordanian was very disappointing. The staff showed little care or empathy, particularly towards elderly passengers and families travelling with young children. The rules and procedures were unclear and felt rigid, making the journey unnecessarily stressful.

The seats on the Amman to London flight were extremely tight, which was surprising for a long-haul route. Whenever we asked questions, the responses were abrupt and rude, similar to our experience with staff at Amman Airport. Overall, the service fell well below expectations. I never going to travel with them again.

Amazing airline

Amazing airline. I don’t know why some people had bad experiences. This was by far one of the best airlines I’ve traveled on and I will definitely travel on RJ again

Incredibly slow check in at Stanstead

Incredibly slow check in at Stansted airport, UK. We have been in the queue for 25 minutes and they havent been able to check in the first set of travellers yet. No communication about the prolonged delay. Had they communicated the cause of delay, we could have been more patient.

I paid to travel by plane and also paid…

I paid to travel by plane and also paid an additional £150 for this service. However, I ended up travelling by bus instead. I was forced to pay extra for a Jordanian visa in order to enter Jordan and continue the journey by bus.

The airport staff were unfriendly, and no one was able to clearly explain the next steps or provide proper assistance. All of this happened due to fog at Damascus Airport.

As a result, the journey from Jordan to Syria took approximately 28 hours, causing significant inconvenience, stress, and additional costs.
The retern was very bad, I will never use or recommend this airline.

Absolutely unacceptable experience.

My flight on 20 December (Damascus → Amman → London) was cancelled without any prior notice. I arrived at the airport around 7:00 AM, checked in normally, and then was forced to wait over 7 hours at the airport — most of that time standing, with no information, no updates, and not even a basic apology from staff.

Only after we entered the boarding area were we suddenly told that the flight was cancelled. No emails, no messages, no calls from Royal Jordanian beforehand. Complete lack of communication and respect for passengers’ time and wellbeing.

What makes it worse is that although the cancellation was entirely Royal Jordanian’s fault, I am now expected to chase my own refund, and no one from the airline has contacted me or taken responsibility.

This was one of the most disorganised and unprofessional airline experiences I’ve ever had. I will not be flying with Royal Jordanian again and would strongly advise others to think twice.

DO NOT BOOK WITH RJ! Not worth it!

I got in contact 5 months before my flight to book a baby bassinet, after several DM’s and comments on social media I got a call from ‘Basil’ based in the London office. He booked the baby bassinet for me and when I asked about the seat he was confused at first but when he looked up the information he told me ‘in order to book the seat you have to go to the airport on the day to book it’. I have taken several flights and have never heard of this method, so asked him again if that was correct which he claimed it was. I mentioned that I am worried about not being able to get the seat as these are extra leg room seats and are in high demand he then suggested I go to the airport the day before the flight! Which is insane as I have a baby. However I trusted he knew what he was talking about and now that my flight is in a few days I contacted the airline which I am coming back with (Turkish airlines) and they were able to book the bassinet and all the seats on one quick call which made me question the information given by royal Jordanian.
So I emailed again for someone to get back in touch and got a call back and when I asked if the bassinet was booked she confirmed however when I told her what Basil had said about the seats she said “that is not correct I don’t know why he said that as you can book the seats online!”. I asked her to quickly check the availability on the seat infront of the bassinet and as I mentioned would happen montdh ago they were TAKEN! Infact ALL front row seats were taken!.

I explained my fustrations to her as I asked what is the point of having the bassinet if I cannot use it! And that this could have all been prevented if Basil had done his job and given me the correct information and booked me the seats.

Now I am trying to log a complaint but the only way is to send a message on the online portal and wait up to 10/14 days, this is no good as my flight leaves Tomorrow and I am now having to hold my very small baby for 2 flights. I also have another young child so this has just added so much more stress and inconvenience to my journey.

I do not recommend flying with this airline! the only free number they have is as followed - 020 7878 6300

Update- I have been on the flight and I still would NOT RECOMMEND THIS AIRLINE to anyone! Especially those with children. Not only have I not heard back from my on going complaint but my experience at the airport with this airline was horrendous!. You would have thought you booked a budget flight with ryanair with the way they were checking the sizing on the onboard bags. We were a group of 5 and a baby and we deliberately made sure to only have 2 cabin bags to accommodate for the 2 cabin friendly buggys we had. At checkin we were told everything would be fine and we were on our way. When we got to boarding the lady who I believe was a manager told us we could not take the buggy's with us on the flight. When I explained that these 1- cabin friendly buggy's, 2- we had been told they would be okay and 3- that we have taken less cabin bags to accommodate for the space we were told ‘ we do not allow buggys to be taken on full flights’. I asked if I had taken the 5 cabin bags instead would that have been okay? And she replied with yes.. which makes no sense what so ever. I explained how we had a stop over and we had two children and it would be difficult for us she basically shrugged and then hastly said ‘ there will be pushchairs available at the stop off airport’ (which there wasnt). Another memeber of staff came to retag the buggys and procedded with shouting at us ‘ why didnt you tag these at check in!’ both me and the manager told her that we were meant to take these on board thats why. We had packed the buggys and one was in a secure travel bag with adapters (for the carseat for our infant) when the staff was tagging them she took the buggy out of the bag, I tried to stay back to see if I could rebag the item but we were told to get on to the plane (we were not last to board if anything we were one of the first).
When we recieved our pushchairs in our final destination the buggys bag was not closed properly and there was an adapter missing.. now this could have been from Manchester airport when the staff member was retagging the items and she did not put the adapters back in or because she did not close the bag properly when the buggy was taken on and off the plane the adapters got lost. The issue was I was now unable to use the carseat for my baby who is too small for the normal buggy. I was put in more inconvenience because of this, we had to carry around a carseat which could not be used and our baby had to readjust to the pushchair which they were too small for.
I am still waiting for a response from my complaint so I can speak with RJ about compensating me for the adapters and the huge stress they have caused me. Its such a shame as cabin staff were professional and food was decent but because of this I would not recomend.

I accidentally purchased a ticket for the wrong date. I called them directly, and they assured me I would receive a refund, so I bought another ticket. After that, I didn’t receive anything. I sent multiple emails, and they claimed I wasn’t entitled to a refund because it was an economy ticket. After many messages, I explained that their own website states that cancellations within 24 hours are refundable regardless of ticket type. After a long wait, I received only 30% of the ticket price. Please avoid RJ.

ROYAL JORDÂNIA BREAK LUGAGGE AND FORCE PEOPLE TO SIGN FULL SATISFACTION …

I’m extremely disappointed with the way Royal Jordania has handled my situation. Two of my suitcases were damaged during my trip, but the airline only agreed to compensate me for one — and not even for the full value of the suitcase.

To make things worse, they still haven’t sent the payment because they want me to sign a document stating that I am “fully satisfied,” which is simply not true. This situation has been ongoing for a month now, and the lack of respect and proper customer service is unacceptable.
I’m truly frustrated and feel that passengers deserve better treatment.

Was sent a polite email in tiny writing that my £4000 flight was being downgraded to Economy from Business (I have a spinal condition so save up for better seats), with zero options, zero compensation, minimal communication, like that was ‘normal thing’.

I fly 12 times a year, and I’ve never had this happen, or my friends, or my colleagues.

First time and last time flying with them! This airline is a terrible joke. AVOID them at all costs.
Delayed flights, cabin crew are missing the basic which is being able to speak and understand English! And the cherry on the top was my luggage that never arrived!! No customer service to call, you email and never get an answer. What a disgrace of a company!! Sham on you!

Treated Like Cattle

I booked an international flight with a domestic connection incurring a 6 hour overnight transit. There was no advance or website information regarding the transfer; on arrival to AMM there was no liaison and after much confusion RJ Sales Desk advised to sit in a departure hall with 1 small cafe and fixed single chairs. No access to business lounges, shops or restaurants

🚨Don’t travel with Royal Jordanian🚨

🚨Don’t travel with Royal Jordanian🚨
I recently flew with Royal Jordanian from Manchester to Amman and was very disappointed with the check in experience. I spent about an hour queuing just to drop off my baggage, there were roughly 50 passengers waiting in a long line. Unfortunately, there were no dedicated lines or assistance for elderly or disabled passengers, and I watched two elderly couples stand in line for the entire hour before they were served.

For the amount of money you pay for these flights, the level of service simply doesn’t match expectations. It was a truly disappointing start to the journey.

Bad customer service on “Royal” Jordaniab

If there was less than one star I would have put it, it’s called Royal Jordanian but has nothing “Royal”on the way to Jordan my bag was lost/ delayed and every time I contact them I get only promises then the bag came after 5 day ( the day I was leaving Jordan) .
On the trip back I was offered to buy the seat beside me for extra $130 which I did to have extra space on long trip ( over 10 hours), arriving to the airport port to find my seat was given to some one else and they could tell “sorry”

The flight you get might not be the one you booked!

Our flight (BKK-LON) was altered several times by the airline after booking. The most recent changed the second leg from Amman to London to a day later, which would meant a 29 hour stopover. Not only that but they changed the class from Business to Prem Econ without any offer to reduce the price! We had no choice but to cancel and seek another flight with less than 3 months to our travel date.
