First time buying from a microbrand
First time buying from a microbrand. Was skeptical given typically terrible quality that break after 6 months but saw amazing reviews for this one from Riley and thought I’d give it a go. It’s been 2 weeks and now it’s my daily watch. Agree with reviews which say the watch looks even better in person than online. Beautiful design. Only thing I would say is I wish the brand offered watches with a more classic / formal aesthetic - I get it’s trying to stand out with playful colors but I’m not interested in the mentally underdeveloped millennial / little boy identity vibe.

Toxic smell
The watch looks amazing and will be giving as a gift to my son in 2 weeks. However I do have one issue. The watch band and box it came in has a toxic smell. I've left the box open and removed the watch for a month trying to get the smell to disappear. Still very rank.

How very strange. We build and package these ourselves in out workshop, which is kept INCREDIBLY clean (as you can imagine, with us handling watch movements all day) so all I can think is that it's been sat next to something in transit.
