Revo has lost its way..

When this company was founded and based in Scotland, its customer service was first class. However, I cannot say the same since it moved to the Netherlands. It disregarded my first two emails and took over a month to respond to my third only to tell me that my eight year old Revo Superconnect could not be repaired as parts were no longer available.... my older 12 year model is still going strong although will not connect to any BBC stations. When I replace my Superconnect, it will certainly not be with another Revo model.

Very poor quality products which don't…

Very poor quality products which don't last. My Super Signal has stopped working after minimal use and Revo (and their owner) take no responsibility for offering a repair an simply refer me to a local repair service. Avoid at all costs - Ruark make similar (and better quality) products.

Great sound but woefully unreliable

I recently upgraded from a SuperSignal to a SuperConnect as I wanted to change all the radios in the house to Internet Radios.
I had only owned the SuperSignal for perhaps 3 weeks, but it that time it did power up twice without any sound. Turning it off again and back on remedied this.
The SuperConnect sounded fantastic when it would play ball, but has numerous software gremlins that cause freezing up, constant buffering, self-resetting, etc. Sometimes a factory reset sorts it (but then all your presets are obviously deleted too) but I have even known it to freeze when pressing "yes" to factory reset! The only tried and tested remedy is to unplug and leave for an hour or so.
The fact that you should have to put up with this shoddy operating system when you have paid, frankly quite a premium for the product in the first place is unforgiveable.
I have now sold all my Revo radios and replaced them with Ruarks.

Initial Impression

Just received Super Connect Stereo radio.
Quite expensive, but sounds great on Internet Radio.
Replaced a Roberts IStream Radio on a window ledge that had no problems with any reception.
The Revo struggles with DAB connection in exactly the same location.
It definitely is not the DAB signal strength, which is fine on all other radios (Pure,Roberts etc)
Background noise(rumble) ,and dropping in and out of signal a regular feature.
Would not buy a Revo product again.

Poor long term support

These are priced and sold as high end equipment. When the item is working all is fine, but when it goes wrong on an old machine you are screwed. Customer service just says nah, it's out of guarantee and an obsolete board, we can't help and you're on your own. I've got older hardware from other companies that is still well supported. Bad long term support.

Company website won't publish negative reviews …

… so here it is instead:

The SuperCD takes a while to start. Then it restarts EVERY SINGLE TIME I change mode. It takes a while to switch off. And it restarts EVERY SINGLE TIME I switch off.

Oh and they sent me a customer-branded version they had specially made for one of their customers with one station permanently locked to "Monocle Radio".

I tried contacting them through their "contact us" page. No response. I tried contacting the CEO direct. No response. I submitted a 2-star review. They didn't publish it.

So "Buyer Beware" as they say!

Problem with the products, no support whatsoever

I own 2 REVO radios superconnect.
The volume knob does random volume changes up and down when trying to change the volume. I tried contacting the revo support (now Telestar, Germany), no answer.

I recently bought 2 remote controls to replace the old ones. I paid 80Euros. The mercandise came with no instructions on how to sync with the radios. The invoice (althought asked) is missing from the envelope.
I tried contacting the company, no answer

Poor

Similar to the other reviews, I’m afraid. There’s now no way of adjusting the alarm time settings. No point in trying ‘customer services’, by the sound of it.

No customer support

After 2 years, the display of my Super signal radio started to fade and within a few weeks it was completely gone. Contacted the service with the form on their website, never got a reply (allthough the website states they reply in a few days).
I expect better support for such an expensive radio

This has a mind of its own!

The volume button randomly increases and decreases the volume regardless of what you're wanting it to do! It freezes and crashes, the pre-set buttons just don't work sometimes. It's a good looking piece and the sound is good, but overall it's very poor that these issues exist.

Revo Superconnect: unreliable device and customer support

Bought a Revo Superconnect in May 2020. Beautiful design and the features look nice in paper. But then the trouble starts. Very frequent malfunctions and one feature after the other gives out: Bluetooth never worked, remote stopped working within a year, screen freezes requiring a hard reset, volume knob does random volume changes up and down when trying to change the volume. The app is jittery, slow and unstable and in high need of a makeover from the ground up. Still within warrantee but no way to use it. Contacted customer support several times: zero support, not even an answer most times. A PITY. STAY AWAY

Revo radio is a company in a tailspin

Revo radio is a company in a tailspin. I bought a very expensive radio, and it broken 2 years later. There is now no sound. What makes it worse is I have emailed, called, and tried everything to get a response from customer service but have heard nothing - and the ‘British’ number on the website is a German ore recorded message. If I advise you of ONE thing DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT buy. The product is inferior and will not stand the test of time

REVO is now owned by Telestar Digital - no after-sales support

Bought a SuperSignal radio direct from REVO in December 2019. It was sold with a 2-year warranty. Now, some 20-months old it has developed a glitch whereby the sound cuts out for periods of 5 mins to a couple of hours. Quite arbitrary when it happens, and it's not a DAB signal issue - it happens across FM, DAB and Bluetooth.

Initially I thought - no problem - it's covered by the warranty and went to contact REVO. Turns out that Revo has been sold to a German company called Telestar Digital. I tried to call them but after 10 minutes of German messages it was clear that no-one was going to answer. So I emailed them - both via the form on their website (which said they get back to people in 24 hours) and also via regular email. Nothing. I tried tweeting @them. Again, nothing.

So I find myself in a position where I have paid quite a lot of money for a radio that doesn't work properly that should be covered by a 2-year warranty, but thanks to Revo being taken over by Telstar, that warranty is worthless.

Anyone buying a REVO product in 2021 needs to be aware that they are going to be spending a decent amount of money with ZERO after-sales support if something goes wrong. And as I and other reviewers have said, this silent SuperSignal issue seems to be a reasonably prevalent issue. How brave are you feeling?

Not good enough to be charging premium prices

Really wanted to like Revo but after buying 2 different products and them both failing I'm afraid to say they fall well short on quality. The sound is warm and full bodied but build and aftersales are well under par against the established names. I have kept one of the units as it was just out of warranty but only some features still work on it

Beware Customs Tariffs

We just had our £579 Revo Music System delivered only to have the DPD driver present us with a £121 customs charge...which had to be paid on our doorstep in cash (it was genuine but they had no card facility) The site is revo.co.uk but the stock is dispatched from Germany. Until Boris gets his act together avoid direct purchase from the site and use dealers who hopefully have pre-tariff products in stock!

I'm surprised to see this excellent…

I'm surprised to see this excellent British company doesn't already appear on this site. We ordered a Revo Superconnect radio in their online sale at £110 off normal prices with free postage. It arrived swiftly and is a fantastic unit. Really pleased with the product and the service supplied. Three cheers for them.
