Reverb is solid. It's a good platform for buying and selling music gear. Good, not great. As a seller, the good is that the negotiated shipping prices make it reasonable to get gear to a buyer easily... See more

I recently ordered 26 parts from Reverb…

I recently ordered 26 parts from Reverb for a Les Paul project. Due to their multi-Seller platform, I was able to find all the required parts except 2, which were out of stock (and the cost of eqch was refunded immediately).
I did have one negative experience with one Seller, which I can accept given the other parts were delivered within 3-6 days. Reverb is my new go to site for guitar parts.

Reverb has gone downhill badly

Reverb has gone downhill badly since it got acquired by Etsy.
I have a music instrument advertised and had a keen buyer.
He tried to make an offer and the platform wouldn’t let him and he contacted me. It took ages to get into their help team via online chat and they said it was a problem with PayPal and that my buyer should I contact Reverb customer service so they could sort it out. He tried and tried and couldn’t get through to them and as a result I lost a valuable sale.
So many people complaining about this sort of thing with Reverb now. Don’t trust them! They are hopeless.

Instantly blocked as a new buyer, zero customer service, lost the item.

I created a brand new Reverb account specifically to buy a guitar I had been hunting for. However, the absolute second my account was created, it was inexplicably placed "under review" and completely locked. I hadn't even done anything yet.

I was completely unable to send a single message to the seller or make an offer. Because of this ridiculous automated system, I was left paralyzed and the item slipped right through my fingers. To make matters even worse, Reverb's customer service is practically non-existent. I have sent multiple requests to get my account unlocked so I could just buy the instrument, but I have been completely ignored. If Reverb doesn't want new customers bringing actual money to their platform, they are doing a fantastic job. A completely frustrating and horrible first experience. If you are a new buyer looking for a specific item, be prepared to have your account locked for no reason.

I’ve done a number of transactions through Reverb over the last five years or so, both buying and selling guitars and amps.
I’ve never had a problem and appreciate the customer protection this platform provides.
A full five stars!

I love Reverb

I love Reverb. Way more fun than social media and you don’t get angry after visiting. My only gripe is that the algorithm seems a lot looser than it used to be when browsing the “Just listed” section. Pro audio used to mean pro audio. Now it means a three pack of SM58s with stands and cords.

First and last purchase.

You said: “Thanks for leaving a great review?” I didn’t leave a great review? I left a very poor review.. I was going to spend $3000 more dollars on reverb but I was totally disappointed and discouraged from ever doing business with Reverb again. The one sign or red flag that a company is questionable, is they don’t have a “phone contact number?” And you don’t. My purchase was so very disappointing.
