Very sneaky cancellation process, and too much spam.
How many times do I have to hit "unsubscribe" before the emails actually stop?
Also, this is one of those services where cancelling the subscription requires several steps of confirmation. I was actually in complete disbelief at how many times I had to click "yes, I'm sure" before finally getting a message confirming that my subscription had in fact been cancelled. They're really hoping you'll stop just short of technically finishing the process. I've seen this sort of thing with other services too, this practice needs to stop altogether. Instantly disregard any service that tries to pull this "but are you SURE you're sure you're sure you're sure you're sure" crap.
Even after I cancelled, they kept emailing me. I recall leaving the "email me with offers" box unticked. I unsubscribed (more than once) and it continued. In the end I had to apply a new spam filter so whatever they send me just goes straight into the trash.
I didn't even get far enough with them to properly look for houses, their entire service is just full of red flags. This is already an exhausting and expensive process, Rentumo just adds to both.

PS (I was required to give a review BEFORE they would refund me. I don't blame the support staff, they're doing their, but a company policy like this is bad practise. Had I been asked to please review AFTER the refund I would have had more respect)

High quality listings aggregator, but proceed with caution and be aware of its limitations.
I am amending this review since Rentumo made contact and have addressed the specific issue I had with them.
This site is not a scam. Rather it aggregates property listings by scraping content from various other sites such as daft.ie and fivestar. If you click the 'contact' button you will be immediately presented with a form to enter credit card details to proceed, which the sites it is scraping do not. But I guess that is their business model, to aggregate listings in one place and charge a fee to engage. Nothing wrong with that, but important to be aware of what this site it.
It is not a property listing website, landlords and agents do not place listings there. Rather, it is an aggregated view of what its system has found on the web. I suppose it's like the old Google Reader for news sites, but with a fee.
I wanted to come back and clarify this, as the problem which caused me alarm in my original review below, has since been clarified. Rentumo made contact with me directly, addressed the issue, removed the problematic listing, and immediately stopped emailing me. I must give them credit for responding quickly and resolving the issue.
The site itself has a very high quality UX, and there is value in aggregating property listings in one place.
My personal opinion on it though, is that by its nature it cannot have the most up to date view on available listings using a web crawler technology. In a rental market where things get snapped up almost as soon as they are listed, Rentumo is not for me.
But kudos to them for a high quality website and for responding quickly and fixing the issue.

This website is a scam. Claim to have properties available, the only way to "contact" the landlord is via their contact form - which requires a credit card!
Then they follow up by sending me spammy emails telling me this particular property is still available - quick sign up before it's gone! Give us your credit card!
The owner of the property is personally known to me, and has not had it on the market for over a year.
This is a fraudulent website.
Update: 5 days later, I am receiving daily emails from Rentumo for the same property saying "are you still interested?" this one is "still available" with of course a link to contact a landlord which throws up a credit card form. 22 photos of my friend's private home littered around their website and in the spammy emails I am receiving. Friend is considering going to the police.
