I made a reservation online. Got an email confirmation. Then the next day, I get this message:

That's it. No explanation, no nothing. I went straight to the website, looked up my reservation which fortunately seemed legit and cancelled it. It didn't say anything about still valid or not. In hindsight, they were also more expensive than another one I found right after I cancelled. Never use them again.

I was left stranded at Ezeiza International Airport with my family and all our luggage. Europcar Argentina refused to give me the car because my credit card did not have visible numbers on the front. This requirement had never been communicated beforehand as part of the booking conditions.

They also refused to provide me with any written confirmation of the cancellation of the reservation. I had already paid a partial amount in advance, and when I requested a refund, I received no response.

I was forced to file a complaint with the National Consumer Protection Agency. This was an extremely stressful and unacceptable situation. I strongly advise against doing business with this company.

I paid £53 to rent a car through these shysters. But the car company wouldn't rent to me as I only had a debit card, not a credit card. So I cancelled within half an hour of the booking and Rentacar.com refused to give me back anymore than £13. I am a junior doctor and needed a car to get to work, due to the rail strike. I now cannot afford to get to work....They continually tell me that their system does not allow a refund.

BOOKED A CAR ONLINE WITH RENTACAR.COM FOR AN ALAMO CAR AT PORT MACQUARIE AIRPORT FOR SUNDAY 7PM....ARRIVE 6.55PM TO PICK UP THE CAR...NO ONE WAS THERE....WE COULD NOT CONTACT ANY ONE FROM EITHER RENTACAR.COM OR ALAMO FOR OVER 15 HOURS....HAD TO BOOK A MOTEL FOR THE NIGHT LOST A DAYS PAY... AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY WAS CHARGED FOR OVERSTAYING THE DROP OFF TIME IN THE AIRPORT CARPARK BECAUSE WE WAITED FOR AGES FOR SOMEONE TO SHOW UP....TAKEN OVER $800.00 FROM MY ACCOUNT AND NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO NOTICE I HAVE NOT GOT MY MONEY BACK AND HAVING A HELL OF TIME CONTACTING RENTACAR.COM ALAMO WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME....
