Great experience
Great experience. Incoming calls get answered in a professional manner and routed appropriately. We had lots of complaints with another company we used, which is why we switched to ReceptionHQ. They took over and we haven't had complaints since.

Inconsistent billing
Inconsistent pricing/billing. Had a couple of test calls made and billing was accurate on one call and overcharged on the other. Seems to depend on who’s answering the phone. Other relayed calls have minimal information after significant minutes charged. This is a regular concern and vendor says “we do not provide access to the call recordings to customers but they can review in house”. Unfortunately, for this type of service we have not found a vendor to provide the service with accurate charges. Instead, we are slowly working into AI receptionist and soon to try call center services to end live receptionist services due solely to repetitive billing issues. Date of experience for this survey was selected as today as issues are scattered with not just one date. Hope this helps you in gauging services.

I’ve been a loyal ReceptionHQ customer…
I’ve been a loyal ReceptionHQ customer for more than 10 years, and one of the things I value most is knowing that my calls are answered by professional, U.S.-based receptionists.
There is certainly a place for virtual assistants and global staffing solutions, but I personally believe in supporting companies that provide their employees with fair compensation and a living wage. Choosing the lowest-cost option has never been my priority when it comes to the people representing my business and speaking with my customers.
ReceptionHQ has consistently delivered dependable, professional service, and I appreciate the company’s commitment to taking care of both its clients and its team. My hat is off to them.

I chose them because of the ease of…
I chose them because of the ease of their site. However, there is not general instructions on how to use this service that is written anywhere for reference. I have had multiple charges that were unnecessary in which I had to troubleshoot and wait days for IT to resolve and credit my account. In addition, the same is for unreceived texts in which again took days, and was still not resolved - so I stopped using that function. IT does not call you either. The issue is given from the person you speak with on the phone and I feel it gets lost in translation and you have to repeat items and are always unable to speak with someone directly. Lately, I had a login problem in which I could not login and neither could the support group. Instead of letting me know it was taken care of - I just ended logging in a few days later.
Bottom line, IT support is not helpful at all and there are on written guides or instructions on how to troubleshoot, use procedures, etc. I had to learn these from calling in.

Did a 7 day trial-dissappointed
Did a 7 day trial had someone tell me They didn't give any information and they werent sure what do on the call. I never recieved a notification or any information regarding the call. Did have some messages come through and this worked well. However when i let them know about the person who told me They said they found no issues and were satisfied with the service i felt this was dismissal and avoiding any accountablity and didn't offer an apology at all.

Beware
Initiated the service on February 23, 2026, after several bad experiences with per-minute answering services. I simply needed a service to answer calls and schedule appointments if needed. The average call should only be under 10-minutes if that much. Of course the salesperson specifically guaranteed that this service was "different" and agents would not "waste time." Within the first few weeks I received notice that the 200-minute package was almost exhausted and that I should increase the package. I increased the package and again within about a week or so received another indication that time was near exhausting. I logged into the client portal and noticed several calls over 20-minutes and some over 30 minutes. I contacted customer service to express my concerns and relay that the length of the calls was unnecessary and not what was agreed to. I was advised that the receptionists followed protocol and no credit would be given. I was then assured adjustments would be made and the length of calls would be curtailed. Within a week, I received another message that my time was being exceeded. Again, I logged into the portal and discovered calls at almost 30-minutes. I messaged customer service and never received a response (been over 2 weeks now). Sadly, this company requires a card on file and just charges at-will. Needless to say, I have canceled the service. This company did not work for me and take my experience as a warning. Between February and today (April 15, 2026) I have paid approximately well over $1,000 for phone answering, and I do not receive many calls.
Dialer not a real person answering calls?
I can only speak to our experience. The past two months we have received messages from receptionhq about phone calls and the vast majority were characterized as hang ups. We did a secret shop of receptionisthq by calling our business number. We were greeted by a robotic voice that asked me to hold. I then spent 43 seconds before a receptionist answered the phone and she didn't get the name of our business right. I cancelled the service today. How many leads did we miss, potential new customers who would never wait on hold when making an inquiry?
Mirna was awesome!
Mirna was awesome! Despite the fact that we had a weird, delayed connection, she was patient and kind, and she listened to my issue with attentiveness and genuine concern. She was able to walk me through a quick resolve that I could do myself on the portal! Not only did she solve my issue, but she educated me on how to navigate the portal more efficiently and effectively!
Mirna's an asset to the ReceptionHQ team for sure!!!
Unauthorized Charges After Cancellation
I cancelled on December 1st, and ReceptionHQ still billed me on December 3rd — even after their own staff told me that wouldn’t happen.
I called to cancel the service on December 1st. I was told no one was available to process it, so I submitted the cancellation through their website. They emailed asking why I wanted to cancel, and I confirmed again that I wanted the account closed. They emailed a second time offering a free month if I stayed, which I declined. I repeated that I wanted the service cancelled.
By the end of December 2nd, nothing had been processed, so I called. Their staff told me the service would run until the end of the billing period and that there would be no further charges.
On December 3rd, I woke up to a new charge anyway.
When I called back, the agent (Mirna) acknowledged that the cancellation request was submitted on December 1st but said she had to "escalate" it. Then she changed her explanation and said she needed to “review the notes herself,” which didn’t add up. I was told I'd receive a callback by the end of the day — for something that takes seconds to verify.
There’s no confusion here:
• Cancellation was requested on December 1st
• They confirmed I wouldn’t be billed
• They billed me anyway
After reading other reviews from customers who reported the same issue, this doesn’t look like a one-off error. It looks like a pattern of delaying cancellations and charging customers after they’ve already stopped the service.
This experience has been unacceptable from start to finish.

Outstanding After-Hours Answering…
Outstanding After-Hours Answering Service Enhancing Client Experience
We have been extremely satisfied with the quality and professionalism of this after-hours live answering service. From the outset, the onboarding process was seamless and well-coordinated.
The customer service provided has been consistently responsive and thorough. Any inquiries are addressed promptly, and the few minor issues we have experienced have been resolved efficiently. Our clients appreciate the value of connecting with a live agent outside of regular business hours.
One particularly helpful feature is the immediate text notification following each call, which includes the caller’s ID—this gives us the opportunity to prioritize call-backs. The pricing structure is competitive, offering excellent value for the level of support provided. We highly recommend this service to organizations seeking to enhance their client communication and after-hours responsiveness.
Cancellation policy is vague and you…
Update: They did provide a refund after my review. I gave four stars because they also raised the rates almost 40% without informing us.
Cancellation policy is vague and you will not get any money back.
all refunds are subject to a $30 processing fee, it is not feasible to process a refund. Additionally, the cancellation request was submitted outside of our cancellation window, which also makes the account ineligible for a refund.
We were never given a cancellation period.
ReceptionHQ has been really helpful
ReceptionHQ has been really helpful for our construction business. We have been using them for years now and it has streamlined our communication with new and existing customers. Any time we have an issue or question, we reach out and are responded to within 24 hours (unheard of for most companies!). The price is reasonable for the value that we receive for our business. To hire someone in house to do the same admin work would cost us so much more.
ReceptionHQ has been a great addition to our team~
ReceptionHQ has been a great addition to our team. Their various plan options provide a variety of options to choose from. The MyAssistant plan works perfectly for our team. Everything is customizable. Their support staff are always prompt and friendly. I would highly recommend ReceptionHQ for anyone needing admin/receiption support.
