Raru is the worst ever

I ordered some things for Christmas of 2021 and we're now in November 2022 and I still haven't received anything, I requested a refund via email but they are full of promises and excuses. They are the worst retail shop ever, actually you can't even call them a retail shop. I want my money back.

RARU IS A SCAM!

I purchased a book on 31 October 2022. The feedback I received was the book was due to be dispatched on 9 November. I checked this morning, 10 November and I get this message when I try to track my order. "Notice
Due to unfortunate circumstances we have no choice but to stop taking orders.
More information will be provided in due course." When I try to call, I get a recorded message saying that they are unable to take my call. No response from them via email! Please be careful people. Don't be scammed!

Let employers beware

Let employers beware: do NOT hire Raru ex-employees. There were signs all was not well from 2020. This must have been common knowledge amongst employees. They colluded by taking orders they knew they could not fill. They colluded in lying about delays. They colluded in delaying repayments. They colluded in breaking the ECTA and CPA. They (all employees) have proven themselves dishonest and untrustworthy. Beware.

RARU CLOSED DOWN!!

According to My Broadband, Raru closed down. Just a pity this happened only now, because they have been stealing from lots of customers including myself. Goodbye you bunch of thieves!!

DO NOT USE THIS SCAMMING COMPANY :I Ordered educational books in June 2022 never delivered which hasn’t helped the child at all !! Got a credit rather than my money back so ordered again still not delivered now November
Luckily my credit card bank have agreed they are scammers and have refunded me
Raru have no regard to the effect there scam is on kids and childrens education by offering educational books they cannot supply
Hence I can honestly recommend: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY ps the sales manager O’Leary in Cape Town is on Facebook he sure needs some comments posting lol

Raru is a SCAM

I honestly wish I read this reviews before buying on this site. Just wanted to get a book for myself as an early birthday gift. That time I am unemployed and can't believe I lost money just like that. They always talk about their suppliers and what not. But never deliver the item or the refund

Stay Away from these crooks

I ordered some 4K blu rays discs on the 29 June 2022, with shipping on 28 July 2022, as of today still waiting, they blame suppliers waiting for stock , they won’t share the CEOs details , as I directly lay the blame on him. They offered to credit me , why would I want credit when they can’t deliver. Showed them Amazon has stock they can order from them … silence on this. When they do choose to respond they send the same scripted reply. They are dishonest, scamsters , more so their CEO who hides behind his call centre staff …. Stay far away from these thieves. They still advertise what I ordered as available … go figure… like I said a bunch of unethical, immoral, unprofessional thieves …

Crooks

Hey everyone - been waiting for my refund for months. Used the credit to buy digital steam vouchers and actually got them a few days later. Can't pretend they are on back order if it's digital ;)
Would have preferred the refund, but better than nothing

Going Down Hill

I've been a long time Raru customer and was very happy with their service, but in the past 6 month their service has gone down hill, first I order items that was purported to be shipped in 10-15 working days, after waiting almost two months without any movement and Raru blaming suppliers I cancelled my order and ordered items that said 5-7 working days before shipping, another month and more excuses blaming a supplier and I cancelled my order and requested a refund (Mon, 15 Aug, 13:09). Guess what, waiting two and a half months, so far, for the refund with the refund department sending copy and pasted responses (Mon, 31 Oct, 10:30). This site feels like a scam, stay away!

I only give them one star because I can't give them 0 stars. I ordered in June and they kept telling me it was on backorder or whatever. Finally asked for a refund in August. After a month or so I wrote to them and they told me as per the law they had 30 business days to refund me. I waited a few more days and every time I asked they gave me the runaround. They needed to process it etc. I was getting ready to file a police report on them and finally 2.5 months later (after they had ignored my last email or two) I got a notification from Payfast that I'd finally gotten my refund.

I bought stuff from this place a few years back and was happy with them, but it sounds from other online reviews that customer service has gone downhill since covid. Don't buy anything from them! They are not abiding by the law, as they quote it themselves!

RARU = Big skelms

RARU = Big skelms. They might have been legit a view years back but they are now running a scam. Bought 3 books from them - but no delivery. Generic answers blaming "the suppliers" but they failed to name and shame the so-called supplier despite numerous written requests.. Stay away.

RARU - HUGE SCAM

Reading all these reviews are so scary! OMG! I ordered an item on 26/07/2022 and it was supposed to be delivered on 17/08/2022 and it wasn't so I cancelled on 31/08/2022 and they have still not refunded my money and the feedback i receive is the same as everyone else's. Seems to be a HUGE SCAM!

This is a scam site

I ordered from them in the past with no complaints. Then suddenly they started to lie about what they have in stock. When I asked them about my ordered they claimed that they are "waiting on their supplier". After I finally cancelled the order (about a month after the order was supposed to arrive) they gave me credit instead of a refund. Now it is almost 6 months later and they are still "processing" my refund with no idea as to when they will actually repay me. Avoid this website as the people running it are clearly criminals wanting to scam you.

Just stay away

They are cheaper than other sites but takes months to deliver and if you cancel the order, you never get your money back. Been waiting months for them to refund me.

Raru sent me a fake proof of refund!!

Dear Raru Customer Service, Accounts and Bronwynne,

I think it is fair to say that I have been polite and patient, but my refund saga has been running since February 2022, for products I paid for in April 2021! No one is answering my emails since I mentioned the mistake that was made by your accounts department in February. Bronwynne called me to tell me she was sending it through to be resolved at your accounts department. I have just gone over my bank statements again for this year and the end of last year, and there is still no refund of R611.00. I am aware that a refund can take up to 2 months with Raru, but this is ridiculous, and I have been sufficiently patient.

You did refund someone at Capitec my R611.00, and list my name as the beneficiary on the proof of payment you sent me, but I only have a personal bank account at ABSA bank. Please see the attached emails with my bank account refund information. I know it was a capitec account you refunded it into, because I googled the branch code you listed on the refund receipt. This is clearly an error of your accounts department. Could someone please rectify this, and could I please have my refund.

I truly hope that someone on your side will resolve this for me, before I take further action on my side. It is ridiculous that this should have taken so long, and it is really bad customer service on your part. I should not have to wait for my hard earned money, because someone made a mistake on your side. Short of this, I can only assume that the proof of payment that was sent to me was fraudulently photoshopped by one of your staff members to string me along. I certainly hope that this is not the case!

I would appreciate an explanation and a refund please.
