Quit working in under six months

Didn’t even own this gps six months and it did an update and now has no roads. You can only see a map of the U.S. won’t give directions because there are no roads! Total waste of money! After seeing all these reviews, I hope they get hit with a class action lawsuit!

Do not buy a Rand McNally trucker GPS

I have purchased the TND 730 and the TND 750. Rand McNally will not even last 5 years. I have been a local driver now for 9 years and barley use the gps due to I go to the same places and I know all the different routes to get there. I am going to a new place for another section of my company and the route is 274 miles 1 way. I need the best route and it needs to be updated. I went to update and the last update was in 2020. I know I have updated since 2020 but I guess it didn’t take. This is on the TND 750 due to the 730 stopped being supported 4 years after I bought it. The update on the 750 just says checking for updates and never goes anywhere. I have factory reset it and it starts the process then errors out and then back to never updating. I have spent $800 plus on two units and for what… two useless paper weights.

Worst product and customer service… I…

Worst product and customer service… I bought a trucker GPS, 5 months after purchasing it for $415.97 it stopped charging. I called customer service for help, got hung up on multiple times, sent email, only to get told I was out of date on returning product. Closed my service case. I don’t recommend anything from this company.

I have been using RAND McNally GPS products since 2007 and this year is going to be my last year I'm switching to another trucker GPS because I pay a fortune on them every two years because the battery always craps out on me.

I bought a brand new Rand McNally clear…

I bought a brand new Rand McNally clear drive 220 and not even two months later it broke and I went through the warranty process and the carrier used to return the headset lost the package I have proof of return and proof the carrier lost it and now me the customer is stuck having to pay the price and Rand McNally will not honor the customer because the are “not at fault “ and they want me to wait weeks before they get an answer from the shipping carrier. I’m not sure but for a 250$ headset that I use daily for otr trucking and I use it to be a safe driver Rand McNally sure doesn’t care about that and would rather make the customer suffer I would not recommend this company to anyone after dealing with them

I don't know if you guys even read this…

I don't know if you guys even read this but here goes, we spent almost 1000.00 on our tnd550 unit and since day one it has given us nothing but grief. This thing is expensive AF and the best you could do was give it mini USB a format so outdated that my last device that had it was the old black and white BlackBerry. This thing constantly overheating and when it's not trying to burn us to the ground, it's shutting off or stops charging unexpectedly. Don't bother buying it's full of bugs and is just a massive liability.

Rand McNally overdrive pro 8

Bought a pro8 6 years ago when I started driving OTR, best thing I ever bought. Been with 3 companies, the have had 6 different devices in that time, couldn’t trust any of them over my pro8. I paid $600 odd for it, but seriously the best thing I’ve bought in my trucking career.
Does it get it wrong? They all do, but this one is right 99% of the time. Usually when it’s wrong it’s in cities, but it’s NEVER, put me on a weight restricted or height restricted road, NEVER. I’ve had company GPS trying to send me over 10 ton bridges with 40 tons.
Also set it for fastest route, it nails it every time.
Company I used to work for didn’t allow certain highways, just hit reroute, it finds the fastest way avoiding that highway.
Parts, my window mount broke, after 3 years, went on there site, another one home before I was, for $22.
Long and short, I’ve had this one for 6 years, I hope it doesn’t pack in, but if it does, I will not hesitate spending the money again

Don't trust a Rand McNally GPS

In February 2018 I upgraded to a new Windsport 31Z that didn't come with a GPS included in the InfoTainment System. My previous coach had a Rand McNally GPS that worked well so I purchased a RVND7 new from Camping World prior to our first trip. The GPS didn't work well right from the start and had to be sent back for warranty repair. Turn around for the repair took approximately 6 months. Since then there have been ZERO map updates and I have a Lifetime Map subscription. Our last trip was over 6K miles and several times we found ourselves riding on a "blank" road as the GPS didn't recognize major US Highways. Have emailed Rand Support several times about the situation but received only one reply, telling me to update the device. Unfortunately the device dock software always returns a "Your device is up to date" display and does nothing. Tried to call the Support telephone number but have only been able to leave voice mail messages that claim my call will be returned within 24-48 hours. So currently I have an almost worthless GPS that cost $299 that won't update and, it has become obvious that Rand McNally is not really that concerned about providing any real support.
