Developers Dream! Amazing platform and service

As a full stack developer, I've found that RackNerd's VPS checks all the boxes in all the right spots. Root access is provided with their VPS plans. This gives me complete control over my server environment allows me to customize configurations, install necessary software, test code, etc.

Another highlight of RackNerd's VPS is the Solus control panel. Should I need to change my OS or simply start fresh, I can easily reinstall my VPS with just a few clicks. This level of convenience saves me valuable time from having to ticket in for reinstalls and ensures that I can test my projects across different Linux distributions.

RackNerd's VPS offers developers like me the perfect blend of performance, scalability, and control. I wouldn’t blink twice when it comes to recommending them for those looking for an affordable and reliable VPS service.

Very nice company, worst upstream provider

Do you know 'ColoCrossing"? Before you pay for a yearly cheap VPS in this company, I hope you'd search for "Colocrossing ip quality".

But if you're reading this, you're here because you've already paid for it. Not before, I guess.

If you don't care about IP quality, then this company will be good for you. This company provides generous hardware at a dirt-cheap price. Ticket response is also decent.

I mainly used their VPSes for a personal VPN. It was capcha-ed in too many places. In some worse cases, it was blocked in unexpected places, giving me surprises.

Also, it wasn't good for a web server, either. Its IP address must have been blacklisted by my peer servers; it was generating a weird symptom in server-to-server communications.

In the end, I was frustrated. I didn't want to see it anymore. I threw away their servers and requested several immediate deletions.

Of all these excellent reviews, I thought someone must point out about the Colo-Crossing IP quality. So I leave it here.

I give it one star because I ended up losing money, however small it was.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our services, and we're glad to hear that you've been overall satisfied with the service and support we provide. I will make sure to pass along your kind words over to our support team :)

We understand your concerns about the IP quality related to ColoCrossing, which is just one of several upstream providers we work with. We'd like to clarify that we offer a variety of data center and upstream providers to cater to different needs, and do have different options available, depending on product line, resource needs, location requirements, etc. Our aim is to provide the best possible experience for all our customers, and as a diverse provider of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions, we operate in 20+ datacenter locations globally.

It's important to note that regardless of the hosting provider, it's quite common for a few services and websites intended for residential use only (such as Netflix, Hulu, etc) to restrict access from datacenter-based IPs and ASN's. This is a hosting industry norm and not a specific restriction imposed by RackNerd. For example, while you didn't specifically mention Netflix, it serves as a practical and real-world example of a streaming platform that enforces content and region restrictions on their end. Such limitations are beyond the control of any hosting provider.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to our team via email at: bizdev@racknerd.com. We'd be more than happy to assist you in finding an alternative solution or perhaps a migration to another location that better suits your needs.

Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Overall solid hosting

Overall solid hosting. For the price not many companies can beat them. The performance has been solid in my 5ish months of using them, no downtime.

Decent route into playing on the cloud

Took out a Black Friday sub months ago to see what all the fuss about cloud computing was. Great value for money and easy to setup and get running on my own journey. The base package I grabbed does not have the fastest or most feature-packed service but it is brilliant for learning.

Great KVM VPS service

Great VPS service. I picked up a racknerd VPS on a black friday deal, since then I migrated my services from another VPS provider and the move has gone smooth. Racknerd replied within minutes of a reverse DNS request and had the record updated with the correct information. Their network has been rock solid, I can see moving more of my services to racknerd in the future.

This Company wiped out my site…

This Company shut down my site after they took my money and I invested money and labor to creating sites for customers. Then they told me that due to verification reasons they would terminate my sites. I had an emergency that delayed my responce so by the time I asked to at least trasferr all my sites to somewhere else they said that they wiped it all all out. Here is there exact responce:

"Your server is severly past due and it has been already decomissioned and all data wiped out.

We sent several payment reminders, we can't restore it's data.

Let me know if you need anything,"

Hello "customer" -- we were unable to find your account with the limited information provided on Trustpilot with your name on here being “customer” -- however, thank you for providing an updated review today which included additional context, so that we can further comment on your case.

We had reached out to communicate the payment-related issues with your account, which was based on several discrepancies that were present. Sometimes, these are provided to us by our payment processors as elevated risk. In such cases, we do have to take action - however, the action is not so drastic in the beginning stages, where communication is first established. In such situations, we simply reach out to the customer (as we did to you) and provide a reasonable timeframe for you to respond. During this time, service is not interrupted. When we still don’t receive communication after a period of time, we can’t have idle active services just sitting there unpaid, so eventually, they do get suspended for a period of time (a suspension is very different than a termination, as a suspension is easily reversible). That is the second stage. The final stage would be a termination, this is if we still have not received any signs of life or communication from you even after the initial reach out, and suspension period, and after some more time has passed even after the suspension.

In this case, our initial contact to you was on March 23rd, and you are just now reaching out to us 27 days later. Between then and now, there were more than 12+ communication from us sent to you (aside from the suspension and grace period we've provided). For more than three weeks, there was absolutely zero communication from your side despite our numerous follow up attempts and despite the multiple stages described above. This is something we typically experience with bad actors (in that they don’t respond) - in this situation, we understand you were away, however, we can’t just keep services online for more than half a month like this without any signs of payment or communication (plus, the original payment was of course refunded in full due to your payment discrepancy).

We do want to emphasize that we absolutely do not shut down services without any reason or notice, and we would never delete a client's data without warning or proper communication. We believe that our track record and positive reviews attest to our commitment to customer service and quality. We simply cannot guarantee that we can keep a service running indefinitely without payment or at the very least, communication from the client. In cases like this where you may find yourself needing more time to act on something, whether that be payment related or otherwise, we just ask that you contact us and let us know -- even if it’s just a short one-line message to at least let us know of your intentions.

We remain committed to delivering excellent service and support to all of our valued customers, and we hope that we can have an opportunity to work together again in the future. As we said in your previous review, you are welcome to contact us directly at bizdev@racknerd.com to discuss further. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

RackNerd review

I have been using RackNerd for a little less than a year and my experience has been fantastic. For my use case RackNerd is simply perfect; I was looking for a VPS to run a couple of lightweight docker images to share with friends and did not want to spend too much money. Performance has been great, very stable, and price is so low it is practically free. I would highly recommend you check out RackNerd if you need to run a service on the cloud.

Great for long-term

if you’re looking for a provider to go to that has a high quality of service, and the low price, Racknerd is the place to go. Been using them for the past while and I’ve had absolutely no issues. For only $10-$15 a YEAR, I get a high-quality VPS that you might get from other providers for $5-$6 a MONTH! Keep up the great work, Racknerd!

Stable and Highly Responsive.

These guys really know how to configure a server. I'm just running a simple WordPress site but it is incredibly responsive compared to my last host. It really is WordPress optimized. The data center options are what really caught my attention when signing up, as there are choices to suit just about any preferences you have. I highly recommend RackNerd.

VPS Provider with Excellent Service

Dustin always helps his users satisfy their needs and I’m glad to be one of them.
He upgraded my service for free efficiently.
Despite the quality of their product (which is above average if not among the top ones), their quantity of service should be respected and learned in every way.
Sincerely hope they could keep up the great work.
