Bad Software, Bad support, High price.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the ongoing and recurring problems I have experienced with QuickBooks over the years. Despite being a long-time paying customer, I continue to face serious issues that prevent me from using the software as intended.

QuickBooks has consistently failed to provide a stable and reliable service, with repeated technical problems affecting essential features such as T4 processing, bill management, and other core accounting functions. These are not minor inconveniences—they directly disrupt business operations, waste valuable time, and cause unnecessary stress.

Even more concerning is the lack of effective customer support. Every time I contact QuickBooks for assistance, I am placed in an endless loop of unhelpful responses, transfers between departments, and scripted troubleshooting steps that do not resolve the underlying issue. The support representatives often refuse to escalate cases, and I have been repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak to a manager or someone with the authority to make meaningful decisions.

What makes this situation unacceptable is that QuickBooks charges a substantial ongoing subscription fee, yet fails to deliver consistent, dependable service or meaningful customer support. When the software malfunctions, I lose hours—sometimes days—of productivity, and QuickBooks refuses to offer any form of credit, compensation, or accountability for the downtime and frustration it causes.

This pattern of neglect and lack of responsibility is unacceptable for a company of Intuit’s size and reputation. Customers who rely on QuickBooks for essential business functions deserve transparency, reliability, and genuine support—not automated replies, repeated failures, and a refusal to take ownership of problems.

I urge QuickBooks to take this complaint seriously and to address both the systemic issues in its software and the deficiencies in its customer service. If these problems are not resolved or at least properly acknowledged, I intend to escalate this matter to provincial consumer protection authorities and any applicable regulatory agencies.

🚨 Frustrated with QuickBooks Online 🚨

🚨 Frustrated with QuickBooks Online 🚨

I want to share a serious issue I’ve experienced with @QuickBooks. Their software triplicated my main company account under the same email and setup — and then charged me 3 times the subscription fee for the same business.
This is not only a billing error but also a failure in preventing duplicate account creation under identical company details.

Small businesses rely on accounting software to be accurate, reliable, and transparent. Errors like this create unnecessary stress and waste valuable time chasing refunds.

👉 QuickBooks, please fix this issue and ensure no other business owner has to go through the same problem. Accuracy in financial software isn’t optional — it’s essential.

Time consuming unreliable dysfunctional

Ridiculously time consuming, unreliable, this is clearly designed for people who work with it daily so they can stay on top of work arounds. The repeat data entry recall is totally dysfunctional. You have to be so very careful, 2 repeat entries are the same and efficient then it goes rogue and offers unrelated default entries.
This is where we no longer trust Quickbooks or intuit. Regarding downloaded data from our bank, one day we were looking at data to compare with current year. We notice 3 months of data is not their, we don’t have time to trouble shoot and carry on with current data entry. A week later we go to work through the lost data, now its there. Think we made an error we take screen shots to confirm what we are seeing. We find another area is missing. I have screen shots of the gap. We start doing manual entries and fill the gap and take a screen shot. We come back and the date we entered is not there and take a screen shot. This simple to describe issue took an hour on the phone with numerous questions not related to the issue. After putting me on hold for another 20min the came back and said an email will follow where I can send the screen shots. No email sent, not in spam. I've since abandoned the product to work with my accountant off highlighted bank statements as we have closed the business and sold our 2 properties. However, I'm stuck paying the subscription until we get taxes filed
Tried getting yr to date report out today 2025 is the yr, the dates in the report are 2020. What do you do with this type of disfunction... I fear another 2hrs of support circling on the phone.

Never again

On January 9, 2025, I subscribed to Intuit QuickBooks Canada. As always, the advisor who sold me the subscription was a salesperson, and everything sounded great.

A week later, I had my introduction session to the software, and I really liked it—until I asked, How do I handle imports of goods? The response was: Our system isn’t great for that, but you can buy an app. The basic app costs approximately 65 CAD per month.

After that, I tried to contact the salesperson who had been so helpful before, but this time, he simply replied with an email suggesting I cancel the subscription. So, I called and canceled it. However, sometime later, the first month's fee was deducted from my business account.

I tried contacting them multiple times, but I never received a response. As a result, I paid for a month of service I couldn’t even use. It’s unbelievable that a company like this would take your money and ignore you afterward.

BE AWARE!

BE AWARE!! I processed payroll for one of our clients using QBO payroll and all the banking information was confirmed correct (even by quickbooks)One employees payroll was deposited into another employees account. This breaks all confidentiality around someone's pay and this is a very dangerous precedent

Terrible software

Terrible software. Does not pull all the transactions into your system so you have to spend hours trying to find missing transactions to balance the books. Trying to upload the statement manually does not work, system just spin 4 little dots. Stay away and save yourself some frustration.

This is the most frustrating software

This is the most frustrating software. Don't even try to contact support It's a waste of time and I mean it ( I learned from my mistakes). I just spent all day trying to fix report of employment for my employee. I almost submit it without checking. The number as so wrong that I just counted myself. When I contacted support they told me to contact CRA and send me their manual how to calculate insurable earnings. It's not worth the money and It will increase the price every year because they know lots of people is lazy to switch to other software. So BAD

Run far away

I highly do not recommend QuickBooks.ca. They will steal your money and when you ask for a refund they will decline it within minutes. Terrible company, terrible customer service. They have zero morals
