Who will protect you from Protection one?

I was a customer for 10 over years. The system stopped working and I took a few months to call them. Did not ask for a refund. Told them to cancel account. I was having my windows and doors replaced by storm windows. They said "Don't cancel we will just suspend account until you are ready."
They suspended for a few months and then stared billing again. I called several times to cancel (again). On my fourth call they said I had to send them something stating I wanted to cancel. I did and I think they stopped billing but now say I owe them $200. Daily calls texts to harass. Customer service useless. Hours of my time spent trying to clear up. Apparently the irony of being shaken down by a company called protection one is lost on them. Many companies out there. Steer clear of these con artists.

Total Rip-off

They told me I could get a better rate but they did not tell me i was locked into another two year contract. If I could cancel your service I would because i hardly ever if never even use the alarm service anymore. They never told me i could not get out of the new service. This company is a total rip-off. sorry i ever signed up with them.

The absolute worst company I have ever …

The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. If you ever need to cancel your service, they make it as difficult as they can. When you call, they put you on hold forever to try to get you to hang up. I would not recommend ever doing business with them.

Awful customer service - very disappointed.

We were previously with ASG but Protection1 took over and things went downhill FAST. The Customer Service is AWFUL & they do NOT care about the customer at all. The reps were rude, short and REFUSED to work with a long term customer of over 5 years and as the rep said - we only acquired your contract making me feel like I was less of a customer because I was not originally their client. WOW. I cannot believe they would rather fight and argue over a small amount of $ and create a NEGATIVE Experience (refusing to negotiate) than just working to create a win/win. It is funny how they spend thousands of dollars in advertisement to wow a new customer but refuse negotiate and work with their current customers that have been paying them for years. Really sad. I have worked in sales my entire live and have never seen anything like this before. BEWARE - DO NOT recommend going with this company.

don't get in you can't get out even when you cancel.

I chose to cancel my service and it was a 3 phone call ordeal. Once you are in they make it very difficult to cancel. I called 2 years into my contract to see what I could do to cancel and I had another year left. I told them when my contract was done I wanted to be done with the service. They said I would have to call back closer to when my contract was over. I called in February and they assured me it was canceled. Then money was taken out of my account in May I called again and I am getting billed for another month because I needed to give 30 days notice and had no record of me canceling in February.

Help!!!!

I have never written a negative review on any company, because I'm not one to pick apart every tiny thing that goes wrong... BUT Protection 1's alarms go off EVERYSINGLE MORNING!!!!
We call them and the send a tech out to help.. Next morning ALARM goes off and they send a tech, this is the same cycle everyday.... And when the alarms go off, it doesn't even notify anyone 🤷🏼‍♀️. If i didn't call it would STILL be going off!! We have they're cams and you can't make out the person in the picture it takes.. The door bell cam, works after the people drive away🤷🏼‍♀️. We called about the cams, protection 1 say " well you need better internet service" so against my better judgement I purchased the best net service there is AND GUESS WHAT, everything is the same!!!! Protection 1 Says were sorry ur under contract and there is nothing we can do unless u want to mess up ur credit by canceling..

!!!!Terrible service!!!! since ive had this system put in my name in June... now im stuck in a contract I guess until june...an I cant wait til June!!!! so I can switch to a company whose sensors dont go out every other week.. whose battery doesnt die and u have no alarm or you think you have an alarm until you set it and they call you saying alarm going off... a company who sees all of the issues being reported and doesnt still collect full price plus a service call fee every time they come out due to something they failed to provide you with.. nor make up other charges !!! Never again will I ever be a customer of protection1!!

Peace

I love it ! For the first time in years, I can sleep in my bed and not on the couch because of the fear of someone coming into my home and causing harm to my grandsons who live with me. It was very easy to install.

A lot of conflicting information.

The sales rep and the technician told me I would need completely different things. The sales rep also told me installation would take 2 hours, but it took 5, which created problems with appointments I had scheduled during the day. The technician told me things about the ap and the warranty that differed from what a customer service rep told me on the phone when I later called with questions. Due to damage during installation, I had to have an electrician make repairs, which Protection1 said they would pay for. It has been 3 and a half weeks since I submitted my receipt and I have not gotten confirmation that my refund is being sent. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Worse service and prection products!

Since I signed up I've had a bad experience, my system came two days late when I paid for same day shipping. I bought the package and the sensors sticky tapes were all dried out. And my motion sensor was broken, they couldn't get it fixed so the representative just by passed it so our system would have the green light. I was transferred to another line to get a new one and they tried to CHARGE me to order a new one. When the one they sent me was already broken to begin with! I was then transferred to another person who said that it was working and then cut the line. Two days later the sensor is completely broken, I tried changing the batteries making sure the backing was on snug. And it still doesn't work, I've tired calling and they just transfer me to another representative, until I just get frustrated and hang up. And now I'm stuck with this company for three years, with broken products, and no one to fix it or give me ones that actually work. Worst company ever.

Armed!!

As a passifist, I am surprised at how the break-in and theft in my home has galvanized my sense of defense! I love having your system, arming it and everything about it! I go away from my home confident that any would-be intruders will be discouraged or chased off!

Reliable service for years

When I purchased my own home after my ex and I divorced I didn't waste time contacting other residential alarm companies. Instead I went right to Protection1 with whom my ex and I had been for over 10-years ( and she remains with them ).

We've always had excellent service... the system operating as it should. And the customer service has always been exceptional. Short if any wait times... polite, courteous and helpful personnel. Just a pleasure to work with.

If I had any complaints it would be, actually, for my ex who has a panel that is original. It would seem the company would want folks using such older equipment to update/upgrade to the latest and greatest touch panels, etc. It seems to me they should push this out to the customer base.

Worst company and worst product!

System hasn't worked right since day one. Nine months old have same issues and still rude service. Some staff knows things other don't know anything. They change the the programming and screw it up even more.
