❌ Terrible Total Loss Claim Experience…
❌ Terrible Total Loss Claim Experience with Progressive Insurance
After a deer accident totaled our car, Progressive made an already stressful situation much worse. We were stranded in New Jersey, had hotel and rental car expenses, and then had to drive back to Maryland.
Progressive pressured us to sign what they claimed was a POA but turned out to be signing over the title before showing any settlement numbers. Huge red flag. The initial valuation was based on the wrong vehicle, and it took multiple requests to correct it. Even then, they refused to properly account for features like tinted windows, despite dealership confirmation.
They also delayed sharing the settlement sheet, excluded taxes and fees at first, and made multiple errors they later refused to fix. The process took nearly a month.
We’ve been customers for 15 years with multiple cars, but this experience showed a lack of transparency and fairness. We’re leaving Progressive and do not recommend them.
Bad Review Ever
I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Progressive’s claim process and the assigned adjuster. From start, the handling of my claim was unprofessional, slow, and frustrating. My car hasn’t been still repaired yet.
Communication was poor and inconsistent. The adjuster was difficult to reach, failed to return calls and emails in a timely manner, and provided vague or conflicting information when contact was finally made. I was repeatedly asked for the same documentation, which indicated a lack of organization and ownership of the claim.
The overall claim process felt unnecessarily delayed, with no clear explanations for holdups. There was little transparency regarding next steps, timelines, or how decisions were being made. As a policyholder, I expected a smoother, more supportive experience—especially during a situation that is already stressful.
Progressive markets itself as customer-focused, but this experience fell far short of that standard. Based on the adjuster’s conduct and the inefficient claim handling, I would rate this experience minus one star. I strongly urge Progressive to improve adjuster accountability, communication standards, and overall claim management processes.
I only gave one star because I had no…
I only gave one star because I had no choice. I had this insurance for over a year. Out of no where I received a call telling me I need to add additional driver's. I told them I had no additional driver's to add. I told them it was just me, my daughter and my elderly uncle. They continued to say they needed to add my uncle to exclude him. I said ok. They came back on the line to inform me my car insurance would go up 15 dollars a month because my uncle. Mind you he'd deaf, blind in one eye, has Cancer with no driver's license. He's unable to drive. They continued to tell me that because he rides in my car and he's 78 year's old that I would have to pay more or be cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous knowing he's unable to drive. Rarely leaves the house. I do not recommend this insurance company.
Had heavy wind damage causing a leak…
Had heavy wind damage causing a leak when shingles were blown off. Was told by a roofing company that I definately needed a new roof. Progressive put a cost of repairs less than my deductible. Totally useless insurance. I am so disappointed in the care given to customers. I am unable to afford repairs or a roof on my own. They definitely low balled the estimate.
This is a complaint against Progressive…
This is a complaint against Progressive adjusters/special investigation. I got insurance through Progressive November 30th my car got hit while parked overnight in the early morning of Monday the 8th. But because I had just opened up my policy Progressive claimed I was a fraud. The aggressive interrogation, the telling me they were gonna pull my phone records and interrogate my family family and friends is the most disgusting customer service I have ever experienced in my life. PROGRESSIVE will treat their policy holders like criminals and murder suspects just so they don't have to fork out money to fix your vehicle. They take our money monthly but almost NEVER from the reviews ive seen cover claims for damage done to your car. They are cheap, disgusting and completely unreliable. As soon as tax season hits im switching to Allstate. BEWARE DO NOT GET CAR INSURANCE FROM PROGRESSIVE!!!!
Run, don't walk from Progressive Insurance
Progressive and its sister company, Blue Specialty insurance are useless. My insurance company had to send a 'Demand Letter' to Progressive for my 'Out Of Pocket Expenses' - 8 months to finalize an auto claim is highly unacceptable. Their client hit my car, as well as another vehicle. Once again, I've filed a complaint with the California Insurance Commission to assist with this final matter concerning my claim. Folks, I would suggest that you file complaints as well. Progressive is not ethical.
BTW, the Insurance Commission assisted me a few months ago in my first complaint for 'Damages.' The 'Out of Pocket Expense' is my second complaint, since July 2025.

This company absolute should be sued or the crap they do. I changed companies from Progressive to Farmers, which I will be dropping. I told Farmers i would like to come to their compny for better rates. They informed ME that I need to contacted Pro and let them know I was switching companies. I did. I received a letter from state of florida my license would be suspended if I did not let the state know i was switch companies. It said disregard if the matter was take care of. I got insurance that day with Farmers, so I assumed everthing was ok. I go pulled over and the officer took my license and tags from car. I dont know how insurance works but this is not right. NNNNNEEEEVVVEERRR get Progressive insurance. They are the works company in Florida.
From $60 to $630: “Progressive”ly Increasing My Premiums
From $60 to $630: “Progressive”ly Increasing My Premiums
I have been a Progressive customer since 2019, and for several years I considered them a reliable company. My monthly payment when I first started was around $60, and I stayed loyal because I believed I was being treated fairly. Unfortunately, my recent experience has completely changed my view of Progressive, and I feel compelled to share the details so others can understand what happened.
In January 2025, I discovered that two strangers had been added to my auto policy without my knowledge or consent. When I called Progressive to have them removed, I was told this was due to North Carolina state law and that I would need to provide written consent to remove them — even though no written consent was required to add them in the first place. This made no sense to me, and I was shocked that such a serious change could be made to my policy without my approval.
To make matters worse, I was told that I could not remove the strangers unless I first added my wife to the policy, simply because she lived in my household. I reluctantly complied, providing her personal information, even though I was uncomfortable with the process. I asked to speak with a manager, but despite assurances that someone would call me back, no one ever did.
By December 2025, the situation had escalated further. I noticed that my renewal premium had automatically increased to $630 from $251 starting July 31, 2025. When I called to ask why, the representative explained that part of the increase was due to my wife’s driver information “not being verified.” This was baffling because Progressive had set up our coverage, and any error should have been on their end. Even after I provided her license number directly, the representative could not explain why her records were not located. I was told the cost could be reduced by about $150, but that “someone else” would need to review the matter within 24–48 hours. I was further advised that I would not receive any direct communication from Progressive about whether her information was successfully verified.
This lack of accountability left me with serious doubts about Progressive’s ability to manage policies correctly. After six years of loyalty, I felt completely disregarded as a customer. To add insult to injury, while reviewing my online account I found a request referencing a 2024 Hyundai Elantra I have never owned. The system suggested I was “linked” to this policy and asked me to confirm it. This raised even more concerns about the accuracy and security of Progressive’s systems.
At this point, I had no confidence that Progressive could manage my policy responsibly or provide reliable customer service. I decided to switch to another insurer, where I am now paying $194 per month for both vehicles — far less than what Progressive was charging me.
In summary, Progressive added strangers to my policy without consent, forced me to add my wife under questionable reasoning, failed to follow up on multiple requests for management review, raised my premium without clear justification, and even linked me to a vehicle I do not own. These experiences demonstrate a lack of transparency, accountability, and customer care. After watching my payments climb from $60 to over $600, I can’t help but joke that Progressive is called “Progressive” because they are always progressively increasing the price. I can no longer recommend Progressive to anyone seeking trustworthy insurance coverage.
I am extremely disappointed with…
I am extremely disappointed with Progressive. They added my daughter to my policy without my permission, which caused my monthly payment to increase by almost $200. I have automatic payments set up, so the money was taken from my account.
When I contacted customer service, they admitted the change was made but refused to give me a refund, even though I never approved adding another driver. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a dishonest business practice. No policy change should ever be made without the customer’s consent.
I trusted Progressive with my insurance, but this experience showed me they do not value their customers or take responsibility for their own mistakes. I do not recommend Progressive to anyone.
My car started having a starting issue…
My car started having a starting issue so I had to use roadside assistance a couple times and apparently because it was a new policy (less than 30 days) they have decided to cancel the policy. I’ve made the payments and I pay for roadside assistance but because I actually have had to use it, they cancel me.
I will never use or recommend Progressive to anyone ever again.
Manipulative Claim Adjusters
Decent pricing, but do not even attempt to make a claim. I have multiple policies with them and have never had to make a claim until now. Unfortunately, after talking to others, they had the same experience I had. Most claims denied. They will record and twist your words in their favor. I had the roof protection plan on my RV. Found every reason not to cover. He pretty much told me what I "Should've Said". The honest folks get left behind. Adjusters already have in their head to deny. Typical Louisiana Insurance.
Previous Progressive Auto insurance…
Previous Progressive Auto insurance customer, I was happy with them very helpful when submitting claim previously a few years back.
I was attempting to get a new quote to reestablish auto insurance, they could not pull up my previous policy, only 2 months old. Questions were redundant, made me waste time. Agent on phone was trying to sign me up, after repeatedly requesting email quote. Was very evasive when I requested when email with quote would be sent out. Quote experience was terrible, made me rethink whether to sign up with Progressive again. Time to review other auto insurance options
Pitiful
Pitiful. Poor customer service after an accident. Never did get to talk to my claims adjuster. for a week and half her phone was broken then when I was able to call it and get through she was on vacation for over a week.
I talked to a supervisor, she called the adjuster and got the same message about phone broken then on vacation. promised they would call so I complete the accident claim. NEVER DID! BUYER BEWARE.
GREAT experience with Progressive
I had a GREAT experience with Progressive Insurance following an accident that damaged one of the fenders on my horse trailer. The day after I called and started the claim a very pleasant and professional adjuster called me and walked me through all the information needed to make the claim process as smooth as possible (pictures, contact information for witnesses, etc.) A field adjuster was here within a couple of days to evaluate the damage and take pictures. I told the field adjuster the name of the repair shop where I would be taking the trailer and the adjuster contacted the shop to get the estimate started. I had a check within 7 days of filing the claim based on the repair shop's estimate. No fuss, no problems. 5 stars for sure. Sorry the people leaving negative reviews did not have a good experience.

My car was stolen in the middle of the night. After reporting it in the morning, I was interrofated like I was the Criminal, they wanted to establish a timeline of my doings of the day before, my ph records, my credit report, myu purchases, my everyhting from the day before and who I called after I foudn out the theft. A ph interview of 1.5 of interrogations, NO, I did not do this, it was done to me and I had all the additional expenses and to top it off they are supposed to replace "Like for Like" and even fight you on that. I cannot recommd this Co ever.
Progressive Online Quote Scam
To begin the Progressive online quote you have to input your zip code, then click through to the quote process. After putting ALL the other required info in (much of it personal), the result is that they don't currently sell homeowners insurance in my area of CA.
They knew this with the first input, but continued to waste my time to harvest my personal info (that I expect will be sold to data brokers). Very disappointed in this process. I will not use this company in the future.
Progressive Insurance is Horrible
Worst experience I’ve ever had with a claim. Our car was hit and run in a parking lot. We needed body work. We were ignored, unsupported, and had to fight for coverage. Be warned Progressive is horrible. They won’t be there if you need them.
Providing information about a house guest without their permission could lead to a privacy violation lawsuit
I spoke to a progressive insurance agent because an error code popped up while trying to receive a bundle quote. The agent wanted to go over what I filled out. The agent wanted to know if I had anyone "living" at my house & I stated I only have house guests. I'm the only permanent resident. She stated that I must put their privacy information on the home owners policy.
I told her:
- that's illegal to give out someone's privacy information
- no one I've assisted has ever paid rent because it's illegal to rent in my county while I still live in the house
- I'm the sole person who pays all bills in my house & I paid off my house years ago
She stated that if someone stays 7 days a week, then they must be listed per progressive policy. She also stated she was unfamiliar with laws but have done insurance for 9 years.
I asked to read the policy because a business policy can't break any laws. I told her I was finance in the Air Force and I am very familiar with not breaking privacy laws of individuals & I will not break the law.
She said that I probably should go with another company other than progressive.
Your company needs to train employees of the law and to not be rude. She never asked for me to get "written" consent from my house guests nor she couldn't produce a written policy I could read so I could turn progressive in for privacy act violation practices.
Asking for other adult house guest information strictly to raise policy premiums is disgusting, sad, and unprofessional business practice. I won't risk being sued for progressive nor any one else.
"You cannot share your house guest's personal information with an insurance company for the purposes of an application or claim without their explicit written consent.
Providing information about a house guest without their permission could lead to a privacy violation lawsuit."
AVOID THIS CASINO AT ALL COSTS
JeffBet and Progressive play/Instant Game Group is by far the worst and most dishonest operation I’ve ever dealt with, and that’s saying something. My withdrawal was withheld without explanation, and when I tried to resolve it, their customer support behaved with blatant incompetence and outright refusal to help.
They sent important account and withdrawal information to an email I cannot access, and when I asked them to update my email, they refused. Repeatedly. Instead, they kept stalling with useless responses like “one moment please” while ignoring everything I said.
When I directly asked what information they supposedly sent me, their agent literally said:
“I have no information to provide.”
They then ended the chat after I questioned them again.
This company is clearly using the same delay tactics ProgressPlay is notorious for obstructing verification, blocking withdrawals, and refusing to communicate transparently, all while hiding behind scripted chat agents.
Their behaviour breaches multiple UKGC rules around fair and open communication. They are absolutely not acting like a legitimate UK-licensed operator.
I am now escalating this to eCOGRA and the UK Gambling Commission with full chat transcripts and evidence of their refusal to provide basic account information.
If you value your money, your time, or your sanity, avoid JeffBet and every ProgressPlay white-label brand. They misuse verification, block withdrawals, and then blame the customer.
This company should NOT be operating in the UK.
55 Days for a Deer Claim — Returned My Car Unsafe
I’ve been a Progressive customer for nearly ten years, and I’ve never been this disappointed in how a simple comprehensive deer-strike claim was handled. My accident happened on October 2nd, and I didn’t get my car back until mid-November a total of 55 days. Throughout this time, there were repeated delays, poor communication, and a lack of oversight between Progressive and Caliber Collision.
For weeks, the claim file remained locked, which prevented the body shop from submitting supplements or ordering the necessary parts. Every time I called Progressive’s general line, I was transferred between departments, disconnected while on long holds, or spoken to in a dismissive way. At one point, while I was urgently trying to solve a repair authorization issue, a representative told me to “cut them some slack because it’s early and they probably haven’t had their coffee yet,” and then tried to upsell me auto-pay instead of helping.
After all the delays, I finally picked up my Audi only to discover the vehicle was not inspected by either repair shop before returning it to me. When I took the car to an official Virginia state inspection station, it failed inspection immediately due to a severely bad alignment. This was concerning enough, but what made it worse was that Caliber Collision had specifically told me the alignment was done as part of the repair. It clearly was not. I had to pay $600 out of pocket for an alignment and correction before the car could pass state inspection.
Releasing a vehicle to a customer in an unsafe condition after an insurance claim is unacceptable. It shows a complete lack of seriousness and responsibility. The fact that neither Progressive nor the repair facility caught this issue before returning the car is extremely concerning, especially considering how long the repair process took.
To be fair, I do want to acknowledge my adjuster, Barkeem, who was the only person throughout this entire process who communicated clearly and actually took action to move things forward. He did his job, and I appreciate that. Unfortunately, the systems and support around him did not match his level of effort or professionalism.
I’m sharing this review to make future customers aware of what I went through. I truly expected better care and attention after nearly a decade with Progressive. Safety should never be compromised, and long-term customers should not be left dealing with such poor coordination and oversight. I hope Progressive and their partner shops take feedback like this seriously because this experience has completely changed the trust I once had in this company.
