Nicole G & ProAudioStar ROCKS!

I made a huge purchase with PROAUDIOSTAR in June 2025, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish.

I ordered a complete new sound system setup: 4 JBL SRX928S subs, 8 JBL SRX910LA tops, along with base plates, rain covers, transporters, and protective covers. It was a major investment, so having the right support throughout the process was critical.

Nicole G was my salesperson, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was communicative, clear, and always timely in getting me the information I needed to make final decisions. Every question I had was answered quickly, and if she needed to consult further, she followed up very fast. She even threw in some nice extras to help get me up and running, which I truly appreciated.

The entire system shipped quickly from their Roanoke warehouse, and everything arrived in perfect condition. On top of that, PROAUDIOSTAR had the best pricing I could find anywhere, which allowed me to maximize my budget without compromising on quality.

I can’t really comment on their return policy or how they handle defective products because, thankfully, everything in my order was flawless. Based on my experience, I would absolutely purchase from them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional audio gear.

I am disappointed with my experience…

I am disappointed with my experience with ProAudioStar. I purchased an open-box item priced at $419. After receiving and testing the speaker, I found that the sound output was lower than expected and did not meet my needs.

I requested a return and sent the item back in its original packaging and condition. However, I was charged a $43 adjustment fee, and only the remaining balance was refunded. This fee was unexpected and left me dissatisfied with the overall experience.

I hope ProAudioStar can provide clearer communication regarding return policies and adjustment fees in the future.

I'm very disapointed with ProAudioStar.com

I'm very disapointed with ProAudioStar.com Customer Service. I asked for a no signature delivery, as I am unable to be home during FedEx Business/Delivery hours. They did not care. I have watched the missed package stickers pile up on my door, and I can do nothing about it. After 3 attempts I asked ProAudio to change the delivery address to the FedEx Store. They said OK, but did not do it.
I was finally contacted by FedEx, and was told they would re-route to local office. Customer Service should be more important than anything else. With ProAudioStar.com it is not. This was NOT the store in Brooklyn, this was ProAudioStar.com to be shipped out of VA. Thank You FedEx, you saved me from bad customer service!
I spend Many thousands on gear every year, This has never happened with any other company.
This was my first time and last time shopping with this company.

Superb Ibanez AM2000H But Frustrating Experience...

I've given ProAudiStar 5 stars however I have a gripe, please read on.
Firstly I've seen a few negative reviews, seems some are more to do with the delivery company FedEx. This is unfair. FedEx handle MILLIONS of parcels on a daily basis, by law of averages some parcels will go missing or arrive late or damaged. That's NOT ProAudioStars fault & just changing shipping companies because of a few complaints doesn't mean any other shipping company will be better!
Well here's my experience. I Am in the UK & I have been after an Ibanez AM2000H guitar for ages, however Ibanez stopped making this guitar at the end of 2024 & because this guitar was so good & has had rave reviews its almost impossible to find anywhere even second hand. But after many internet searches I found a brand new one at ProAudioStar & at a very reasonable price. In fact they had two, one brand new & one 'open box' which was $150 cheaper. Seeing that PayPal was a payment option I added the new one to my cart and went to checkout and was going to pay via Paypal Credit which I have used quite a few times over the past year. I Have been using paypal since my first online purchase back in 2005 and I have never, ever had a problem with it. IMO it's by far the safest way to buy online.
But at the last second I thought I would email ProAudioStar and ask about the 'open box' one to see if it was brand new. My email was replied to within a few minutes and was told that even though the 'open box' is actually brand new, because the box is open it has to be sold as 'used' & because I'm in the UK they only ship brand new items outside of the USA. But they offered a great deal on the new one which was going to save me around $250 on the price so that clinched it for me only to be told I couldnt use PayPal to pay for it and I had to pay via 'wire transfer'.
Immediately alarm bells started ringing as I have heard lots of stories about wire transfer scams and wire transfers are not something we do much of-if at all-in the UK.
So after several rounds of email exchanges between us & after I did a big search of the company I decided I would ask a friend of mine who lives in the USA if she would buy the guitar for me if I sent her the money via PayPal, take delivery of the item & then ship it on to me. That way I would be covered with PayPal protection. So again after several emails and faffing around registering an account with PAS I sent the money to my friend in the USA only to be told five minutes later that PayPal had put a 5 day hold on the transfer! To say I was annoyed is an understatement. Obviously because of the time difference UK-USA I had to wait 10 hours before I could call PayPal to find out why the money was on hold. Cut a long story short, they said its extra protection they have added to stop scams and money laundering with overseas payments, even though I have previously sent her money before with no problems.
So my friend then declined the transfer (which was around £2,600) and the money sent back to me. Well that was May 7th, its now May 13th and STILL PayPal haven't sent the money back (it takes 5-7 days apparently!)
I Was now fretting I was going to lose the guitar but with my £2,600 floating around in cyberspace I had to sell my beloved Kiesel Allan Holdsworth HH2X guitar to raise some money to pay for the Ibanez & send the money via wire transfer. But that was just the start of the problems! I Tried to send the money via Lloyds Bank but after several failed attempts they locked my account! I Had to phone the banks fraud team because they thought there was some sort of fraud going on! Yet even though I was on the phone to them for over an hour & explained all my reasons for making a wire transfer they wouldn't send the money-MY MONEY! They insisted I phoned PAS personally and speak to them to confirm they are genuine & only after I did that would they-very reluctantly-send the money to them. By this time my head was ready to explode!
All this faffing around, sending money via paypal, having it put on hold then not being able to use it because its floating around in cyberspace then having my bank account locked & spending several hours on the phone to them trying to get it unlocked not only caused me to have to sell a guitar to replace funds I couldn't use it also caused my bank account to go overdrawn because even though my friend declined the payment PayPal have STILL taken the money out of my bank. Yes, I could of just done a wire transfer in the first place but as I said previously I was suspicious of making a wire transfer & the 'PayPal Credit' option was there on the website & I would of rather paid over several months than all in one go which I have had to do.
The guitar arrived today, 5 day delivery, its mega. Also the salesman DeJuan was excellent, very patient & he was who I spoke to on the phone. Just a shame they wouldn't allow PayPal, it made the whole experience VERY frustrating!

Be aware

Instead they dishonestly said the damage "may" have happened during shipping and referred me to the optional shipping insurance they offer.

I told them they could accept a return or I would dispute it with my credit card. Then they offered me a partial refund to cover the cost of the two parts.

I bought a Grech Gretsch G5422G-12…

I bought a Grech Gretsch G5422G-12 Electromatic 12-string - Single Barrel Burst, for 795.00 Jan 3 received it via FedEx
signature requested free shipping, the box was re-taped so it seemed like it was a open box, supposed to be new, didn't like it and asked for a return. sometime later, I received $ 719.00. charged me shipping both ways, also if you look on site it says they can charge $150 for restocking fee. I won't ever buy from them again

They ship using FedEx

They ship using FedEx and as such my fears became a reality. My package has gone missing in the Fedex black hole that we hear so many stories about. This will be my last purchase from PAS unless they change shipping carriers.

Return nightmare

The sales process was easy and the pre-sales chat provided a good deal. However, the return process was arduous and frustrating. It took nearly two weeks after they received the item back and a handful of messages and phone calls to finally track down what was happening with the return.

There were "system issues" first, then the rep gave me an estimated date which came and went with no return, so the next week a different rep told me they'd have to contact the warehouse and get back to me via email in a few hours -- more "system issues." Still nothing hours later, so I called and spoke with someone who said that the warehouse team is still processing the return....weeks after they received the item back. They said I should expect the return by end of day. The end of day came and went with no refund and no email follow-up. The next day, I finally got the refund issued around lunch and the delay was now due to something about shipping labels.

While the initial sale was 5-star, the return fiasco really soured this review and I'm not the only reviewer who has had return issues either. How can an online vendor have so many "system issues?" Is their "system" really that bad? How do shipping labels impact a refund on a item that has been sitting in their warehouse for weeks?
