EPIC electronic health record has lots of problems
As an MD who is now retired I find the patient interface with the EPIC chart to be confusing and time wasting.
It is the future, but could they make more of an effort to get it right?
I keep getting incorrect notifications. I have stopped writing messages to the care team as they say they don't receive them, so I call the office instead.
There is no way to correct errors in the chart. They are then perpetuated to outside linked providers.
My medical care is so much more disconnected than in the past. It has become DIY .
If there is a good aspect it is the ability to l/u past lab tests, but that is really the extent of it.
