Professional, honest and reliable

Dean and his colleague Paul did come all the way from London to our place near Haverhill in Suffolk to value various items including gold, silver and other jewellery. They were very knowledgeable and professional and they offered prices for the items without any obligation for us to sell. As we felt these were fair prices, we did sell most of the jewellery. Payment was made immediately to our bank account, whilst they were writing out the invoice. A couple of pieces needed to be further tested and we agreed a price for these. They did take these items and did come back after a couple of days and acknowledged the authenticity and made payment straight away. At all times they were very pleasant to deal with. As like most people we had our concerns, as we had not dealt with them before. We can honestly say that at the end of the meeting, we were very happy with the outcome. We would highly recommend them.

A pleasure to deal with these two gentlemen.

I met with Carl and Dean today who valued and bought some jewellery from me. It was a really enjoyable experience, they are both charming and courteous and very knowledgeable. They made me feel at ease and I didn’t feel under any pressure whatsoever. They gave me what I believed to be very fair prices for my pieces and I wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending anyone else to use their services.

Professional, knowledgeable, reliable service

The guys let me know they were running five minutes late, turned up, were charming, knowledgeable, professional and reassuring. Bought a few items and took another away (having given me a receipt). Item was duly sold (with promised phone calls to ascertain my opinion duly made) and payment was made IMMEDIATELY with receipt attached. Yes! Great service (with a smile) - would most definitely recommend!

I called portobello Fine Art & Antiques…

I called portobello Fine Art & Antiques on the off chance that I could get a valuation from them for some items I had to sell. Ironically they were quite close to me and came over straight away. I found both Dean and Paul very knowledgeable and also very fair, they explained everything to me and there was no pressure at all. I would definitely highly recommend this company, for their knowledge and honesty. They paid me straight away and gave me lots of advice. I was very pleased with the result as I received more than I thought I would which was an added bonus.

A fair deal and extremely efficient

I had a small number of items to offer for sale, telephoned Dean at Portobello Fine Arts and had an extremely helpful response. Dean happened to be nearby, came at once, gave a clearly explained estimate and paid on the spot. We concluded the deal on very good terms. The firm is unfussy and unpretentious - just friendly, fair and efficient.

Selling surplus jewellery

We wanted to sell some unwanted antique furniture and jewellery. Dean and Paul arrived promptly and offered fair prices and settled immediately.
It was a pleasure to do business with them.
