I am a quadriplegic man. My lift broke down on Thursday, 24th of September at 5pm. I had the warranty and called the emergency number. I was informed that no engineer is available with the parts that’s needed. Therefore, an engineer will come on Friday morning. I slept on the floor on Thursday night.
On Friday, my wife had to chase Pollock. No one could inform us if an engineer can come to fix my lift. Finally, someone from the main office called at 11.21am to inform that an engineer can only come on Monday to fix the lift. That means I will have to sleep on the floor for 4 nights. I need the lift to be able to go upstairs to my room and use the bathroom to shower.
Pollock Lifts does not seem to understand that they have disabled customers who rely on lifts in their homes. I’d advise that no one buys a lift from Pollock. The service is poor and they don’t care about their customer’s needs. Deeply disappointing.
Absolutely diabolical my lift broke on Saturday and the ealist repair offered was Tuesday afternoon. Don't waste your money on a pollock lift
Installation and removal was quick.
Good communication.

Expected an engineer for a breakdown at 0930 it is 2pm and I am still waiting. At 11.30 I phoned and was told the engineer was caught up but woul ring me to let me know when he would arrive. He didn’t! Rang again at 1.30 and was told he was minutes away - still waiting!

Had the lift installed the day before yesterday. That evening there was an error code and I couldn’t use it. Phoned the emergency number, to be told we weren’t on the warranty list and would have to call head office the next morning. Called head office (who said we were to be added to the warranty list that day)they sent an engineer out, who resolved the issue.
Now this evening, we have a different error code. Called the emergency number, still not on their list, so once again no lift and no engineer!
Update: All sorted the following day, and we are now on the warranty list.

If you are thinking of having a Pollock through-the-floor lift installed, I recommend you think again. Pollock has the backing of Age Co, so you would expect a reliable product and excellent customer service to help elderly people remain independent in their own homes. Sadly, that has not been our experience.
Please read all the reviews on Trustpilot. There is a reason why so many are rated just 1 star. With only 56% of reviews currently rated 5 stars, it suggests that a substantial proportion of customers are not entirely satisfied with their experience.
My mother had a Pollock lift installed about four years ago, and it has been nothing but trouble. From day one there were problems, and over the years it has broken down several times. On one occasion, my 93-year-old mother was trapped inside the lift for over six hours. To make matters worse, the emergency phone had also failed, leaving her unable to call for help. The phone itself has had to be replaced three times.
The lift has been serviced every year in accordance with the conditions of Pollock’s expensive extended warranty and has also been overhauled several times while engineers tried to identify the causes of the repeated faults.
Unfortunately, the customer service has been equally disappointing. Staff rarely call back with updates, and Pollock relies on subcontractors as they don’t appear to have their own nationwide team of engineers. The contractor covering our area is over two hours away and often waits until there are several jobs nearby before attending. As a result, my mother has been left without the use of her lift for three or four days at a time. As she can no longer manage the stairs, this has had a huge impact on her daily life. When I raised these concerns with Pollock’s breakdown department, I was simply told that it wasn’t their problem.
The final breakdown a few weeks ago was the last straw. My mother is now too frightened to use the lift, and we have made the difficult decision to have it removed and replaced with a stairlift.
I have spoken to several lift companies about removing it, and every one of them reacted the same way when I mentioned it was a Pollock lift. They all told me there is no resale value in a Pollock lift and that it would simply be removed and scrapped.
If I had known then what I know now, I would never have allowed my mother to have a Pollock lift installed. I hope our experience helps others make a more informed decision before investing in one.

Took two days to fit, and it's the best built lift I have had (I've had 3 so far)
Looks like it can handle the British weather (unlike my previous melody 3 from Terry lift) which was unreliable from day 1, the door locks are more robust and reliable
Genuinely seems like a better built lift

Pollocks fitted an outdoor Cama platform lift for our son who is paraplegic and a wheelchair user. Since we have had it, it's broken down on numerous occasions, sometimes leaving our son trapped in mid air. Pollocks don't seem to care, after the latest breakdown last Tuesday, where our son was trapped in blazing sunlight for hours it's been difficult to contact them, with emails and telephone calls (premium rate for out of hours contact) going mostly unreturned. It seems they have only two service engineers in the South East of England that can service this type of platform lift. The engineers who have attended were unfamiliar with this type of platform lift and actually had to phone the manufacturers in Denmark to find out how to diagnose the problem. These repairs were short lived and the lift soon broke down again. We were told that we were visited by a service engineer ( not seen ) on Wednesday 27th May who apparently arrived at midnight, he neither left a note or contacted us to tell us he was arriving or what the problem was. We asked for the engineers name and telephone number from Pollocks two days ago so we could contact him directly, this request has been ignored. We were eventually told by the office that they are "waiting for parts" despite the lift being only a couple of years old (and with a full warrantee), and they can't tell us exactly what these parts are or when they might arrive. Our son had to be physically lifted from the lift by my wife and myself. He is now confined to the house, unable to go out and terrified to get on this lift in case he gets stuck yet again. Disgraceful service by company that simply doesn't seem to care. Its ironic that when we're put on hold the recorded message says they promote independent living! I would have awarded minus point had it been possible. Avoid at all costs.

Lift stopped completeĺy out of warranty. Phoned them, they said they would get engineer to call within one hour. He did, sorted out in five minutes, now working perfectly. They are a fantastic company.
Pollock Lifts came out to service the step lifts we purchased from them last year. This was the first problem we’ve had, their team responded quickly and resolved it within a day. We’re very happy with the service and really appreciate the prompt and professional support

Where 3 other companies said it wouldn’t be possible to fit a lift in our small external space, Lorraine from Pollock made it her mission to design a solution and absolutely saved us. She really fought our corner, the company worked to tight timings to get the build done for our deadline, and we’re delighted with our new lift.

Absolutely brilliant service, the installers were lovely guys who made everything really easy and explained everything as they were going along. Esther and Nicola in the office are lovely ladies who have been so accommodating too. I absolutely recommend them if you need a lift installing.

We are very happy with our Pollock lift. Although we had a couple of snags initially, Ross Parker (sales) and John McManus (maintenance) were excellent in dealing with these issues.
Our Pollock lift is fitted in our dining room and the car can be sent up to the next floor out of the way when we have visitors. A very good design feature.
We would certainly recommend Pollock Lifts.

The whole process was handled brilliantly.
From the Salesman , then the technical expert (Lorraine) then the builders to prepare my property , then the installation engineers. Superb.
The lift is better than I had imagined , the fact that when the lift is in the upstairs bedroom it does NOT intrude on my living room is a huge bonus.
I had one little technical glitch the day after installation however the speed and manner that was handled was so impressive.

The full experience with Pollock Lifts was excellent from the initial sales appointment with Ross to the after sales call and visit. The builders, electrician and installation men were all punctual, they worked quickly and with minimal disruption and mess and all did an excellent job. My new lift will allow me to stay in my home for the foreseeable future and I would thoroughly recommend Pollock Lifts to anyone.
