This is a nice place to visit for a couple of hours but pricey with quite a bit of tat. Lots of room in the two car parks, and there's a car wash on site which is useful.

Butchers and grocers are well laid out, lovely and clean, but prices are a joke.

Restaurant is always busy but too chaotic with never enough staff. Hence they're always run off their feet. Unbelievably only one till is ever open so the queue is really lengthy. It's easier to use the app from the tables but you can't order your free coffee from it which is a pain.

The other issue is the free items if you spend over £20 are always out of stock. Today they were 'giving away' a free kneeler' so I bought a plant for £40 but at the till the cashier told me they didn't have any left, even though it was a Monday morning 🙄

First visit, not local so made a specific trip to visit Polhil. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and engaging, apart from girl on check out who could not have been more disinterested if she tried. Jo in Novell's was lovely, helpful and hard working, as we're all the staff and the food very good. Woman who helped with wheelchair loan (Sarah?) was delightful and made the process very easy. Definitely return. Thanks to all.

Amanda at Novells was incredibly supportive and welcoming. Despite being very busy, she ensured our food arrived promptly. Unfortunately, the restaurant appeared understaffed, with few personnel on hand to clear tables.

I went to this garden centre on dec 10th 2025.
Went to the restaurant for lunch. Tried using the QR code on my mobile but did not work. Eventually went to the till only to be told cannot order lunch till 12 midday. The ordering and payment process was painful. If the QR app is to used then the WIFI needs to be good. The food quality was good. This restaurant has a wait to be seated policy which for me is pointless. Overall experience warrants the three stars i gave it.

I frequently stop by Polhill and it's always a delightful experience. I enjoy leisurely browsing through my shopping list at my own pace. The selection of products is impressive, and I never miss the chance to pick up fresh produce from the fruit and veg stand. Since I follow a gluten-free diet, I'm constantly on the hunt for suitable additions to my regular purchases. Parking is convenient, and I always wrap up my visit with a coffee break at the cozy cafe. If I'm searching for birthday or Christmas presents, the vast array of options sparks great gift ideas. I'm grateful for the complimentary bird food and the opportunity to enjoy a free coffee once a month. Polhill undoubtedly lives up to its stellar reputation.

Today we did the children’s toy trail and it was brilliant! Such good value and the staff were really kind and patient with the organised activities.

We love visiting Polhill throughout the year as a family. Seeing the fish, having drinks at the cafe, finding plants for our garden and exploring the vast toy range!

I received a parcel of three Christmas village items. I was absolutely thrilled by my delivery! Within a matter of days, I ordered, paid and received my goods! They were packed extremely well and the prices were fantastic! Thank you to the amazing team that helped me with all involved. I'll certainly be buying again! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🧡🧡

The absolute best garden centre in Kent its our second home I go at least once if not twice or three times per week never get bored with it as there's so much to see my children and now my grandchildren adore it there you get a free coffee every month theres a sweet little playground and they leave out toys for the children you can feed the fish and sometimes I just go for a quiet lunch on my own the staff are so friendly and relaxed I couldn't tell you how much we all love it there don't ever change Polhill we love you lots thank you

It’s large - it covers so many things from plants to furniture to fish and a very good restaurant. Above all - what makes this a 5 star review is the staff. Every single member of staff, from the youngest to the more senior, is friendly, helpful and so good. They all seem to get along with each other too. We had a family day out just for the restaurant - and the service was amazing (portion size great too) highly recommended.

Staff here are really helpful. The centre is huge and has everything you need. Great for a visit.

We went to the Fish Centre with no experience at all. A young man who said he had a similar tank to the one we were given (hopefully he can be identified) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He really made the experience worth the trip and easy. I wouldnt go to another place to get my fish supplies going forward. Many thanks for the help the kids were ecstatic with their new friends.

Great place to visit, been many times before. Today for first time took coach load of passengers. Stopped near front to allow passengers off. Some chap in a top saying happy to help starts shouting you don't drop off here. Your blocking everything up. Not one vehicle was delayed while I was there. It's signed for coaches he says. The only sign I saw for coach parking was at the very far end of the site. A warm welcome from a staff member for a coach load on a day out.

We love coming here.
The variety is really good, not just plants/garden tools & clothes but veg/food/sweet shops, butchers, shoe/clothing shops.
Can lose yourself for ages in there!

Absolutely a 5 star garden centre, I used to food shop here years ago when I lived in Riverhead but I haven’t been in over a decade and I’ll be returning soon. Lots of 🅿️ , variety of plants and planters and the food shop is even more amazing these days. As we have a dairy free diet, the choice of baked goods is exceptional, they stock Plaxtol Bakery delights (I wholeheartedly recommend their large thick cut sourdough) coffee cake, and to my husbands delight vegan cookies at a great price. Great for fresh meat, handmade sausages etc and cheeses ( if you like dairy) but a great place to buy 🎁 gifts too.

We will definitely visit more frequently, it’s worth the 30 min drive for sure and of course you can stop for refreshments….plenty of choice.

Fantastic service restaurant very clean and efficient

I had a lovely lunch , which was a coronation chicken sandwich and a good caramel latte , the staff member on the checkout was very polite when I asked for a price check , and there were some excellent bargains in the sale, overall a very good experience

We live in Caterham and only started visiting Polhill in 2023 but it is now our 'go to' garden centre. There is a good range of products and we can spend a couple of hours looking around. We also always save time to have lunch while we are there, which is excellent.

Amanda in Novells was extremely helpful and friendly. She seemed rushed off her feet but still managed to get the food to us quickly. Sadly the restaurant seemed unstaffed. Doesn't seem to have many staff on the floor clearing tables.
