While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Horrible service

Horrible service. I am trying to cancel and they are not answering to our emails. Phone contact is impossible because they are always closed - any time of day, any day of week. Our items on Google Free Local Listings are disapproved because of them, and we can do nothing because we cannot remove them from managing our data stream. Terrible!

The pointy device sits between your…

The pointy device sits between your scanner and epos system. It therefore grabs all your sales data. You are not allowed to upload data directly from your epos, they are not interested in actually helping build an online presence, they are simply after data. Your data.
There is no stock inventory, so pointy makes guesses based on rate of sale. This is nonsense! To use their example of milk, if I have a supply of 20,and sell them quickly, pointy will show 'high availability' when in fact I have sold out, if however I sell 2 only, it will show 'limited availability'. Not helpful! It will drive customers to your shop when you have sold out, and keep them away went you have plenty! Totally useless Kit.
This is simply a Data grab tool for Google

Horrible and waste of time

There are product descriptions are not for the products that are associated with the picture or upc. They are shown in a jumbled mess on my google page as if a 2 year old designed it. It is overall sloppy and unprofessional looking and I don’t want it associated with my brand that we take pride in. The customer service was horrible when I asked about the wrong descriptions and the order of products. Their response to me was just delete the products that are wrong and there is no way to clean up how the products are listed.

Pointy.com's Services Have Been Destroyed by Google Data Grab Policy

Pointy was developed for local businesses to show up in local searches with targeted Google ads featuring specific bar-coded products that would be automatically entered into a database through a 2G device attached between the barcode scanner and register/computer. It was developed and maintained by its founding members in Ireland. Sometime in the past year Google purchased Pointy. To use Pointy now the business must link its entire barcoded inventory to Google. The business's page on Pointy shows photos of the items based on the barcodes and indicates "in stock", "out of stock" or "unknown availability". Those indicators are based on product scans and changed, not based actual inventory, but scanning frequency and some AI tomfoolery. What's changed since the Google purchase is that most of our business's products have been labeled as "out of stock" or "unknown availability" so don't generate Google ads. It was an amazing marketing tool but it has veered into an information grab for Google. Very unfortunate they destroyed the service as it was originally- and successfully for its users- intended.
