One star is one too many.
One star is one too many.
They have removed any way to amend a booking from the website or app and direct you to a phone number which only has a recorded message.
How come so many other companies are able to support their customers with respect and efficiency in these difficult times but P&O Ferries refuse to?
Disgusting behaviour!
Great experience
Great experience, arrived at dover early for our crossing to calais, was upgraded to early crossing, boarded straight away.
Plenty of hand sanitisers on board all clean and nice, crew very friendly.
Great service and good price.
It looks like I am one of many
It looks like I am one of many that bought insurance to cover any eventuality including additional cover for travel disruption. their cover page suggesting I was covered for everything was just a smoke screen of lies
Flight to Australia was cancelled by the airline and STA gone into administration but they wash their hands for any help or pay out.
I do not understand how they can get away with this, after refusing to pay out to so many people who bought their product in good faith thinking by their wording that they Would be covered
I suggest we stand against these evil villain and do not use them in the future
Doesn't deserve even one star
Utterly disgusting behaviour from P&O- 2.30pm ferry delayed by 2h out of pure greed, as there weren't enough vehicles for the original departure time. Phone lines disabled, so there is no way to contact their customer services and according to their website, it can take up to 2 weeks to a get an email reply...
I have redeem vouchers and wish to…
I have redeem vouchers and wish to travel in august been waiting for a reply they are stonewalling the customer with redeem vouchers, why no phone service?? Terrible way to deal with customers.i have hotels pressuring me for answers.
P&O Ferries single trip travel insurance
We purchased a single trip P&O Ferries Travel Insurance as it was competitively priced. Unfortunately, when it came to making a claim for a cancelled trip (due to the airline route being stopped), the policy wouldn't pay out. In fact it covers almost nothing and in all honesty proves to be a complete waste of money. We would strongly advise anyone considering such a policy to get a copy of the detailed policy wording in advance (but unfortunately they do not let you see it before you buy it) as in hindsight, it was a complete waste of money. I wish we had paid more for a better policy and would encourage people to do so. Also, given that the policy cannot be used to the trip being cancelled they said we could have a refund of our policy premium. When we phoned them back, they said that the refund amount had now been reduced to 50% but the refund % was subject to ongoing review (in light of the Covid 19 crisis) and it seemed likely they would keep reducing it to reduce costs. It seems they are taking every opportunity to review their rules so as to minimise any payouts. We can only judge based on our personal experience and accordingly we would advise anyone against using P&O Ferries Travel Insurance.
After further delaying tactics eventually PO Ferries advised the only option was a partial refund of the initial policy premium. After a considerable further delaying they said they needed my bank details to be emailed across which I immediately did. Three weeks later they emailed again asking for bank details again. This appears to be a very transparent delaying tactic which only serves to reinforce my opinion that P&O Ferries insurance should be carefully avoided.
I am a regular traveller with P&O
I am a regular traveller with P&O. Usually their service is good. I know that Covid-19 has caused problems, but trying to book a season ticket is impossible. I am only allowed to make contact via email. Emails has not been answered 14 days later. Contact via twitter not very helpful. I understand they have made half their staff redundant so they now have problems. What a mess.
I booked a crossing for 26 July in Feb
I booked a crossing for 26 July in Feb. I have tried all forms of communication with P and O to confirm my booking, as their web site is saying I have no booking, even though I have a booking reference for my sailing?
Their only communication appears to be a recorded message or responses to common questions. I doubt I will book with P and O again like many others on this website. Extremely poor service.
Covid 19
Hi
We traveled back from France on the 18th of July I was highly disappointed at why people was not wearing mask when it clearly states its the law in public areas.
My husband was extremely upset to thought of this. When we went for a duty free shop my husband forgot to gel is hands and was clearly told to do so by the shop assistant but nothing was said to those not wearing a mask and clearly walking round not 2 meters apart.yes we are English and the number of ethnic society was left to roam the boat freely with not mask.
Worried that P and O aren’t implementing CV19 guidelines
Worried that P and O aren’t implementing Covid guidelines. Lots of people not wearing masks on the Dover to Calais crossing and no one asking them to put them on. Staff cleaning tables then serving food. Is this wise? Come on, P&O , there is a health crisis on. Think about not only your customers but staff working on board and their safety. Our daughter works in NHS and staff at her hospital have died of CV 19. Don’t encourage a second wave. Not good for our health or your finances in the long run.
No communication?

I find it completely ridiculous that you cancel our ferry at short notice but that there's no one to talk to and there's no correspondence from yourselves. An automated email reply saying to wait up to 12 days isn't good enough!
We were due to travel from Zeebrugge to Hull on the 4th of August.
This ferry journey was needed for a touring holiday booked in France. We will not be retaking this holiday; hence the credit would be useless to us!
As you cancelled I have a right to a full refund. You can not force us to take a journey in the next 12 months that will not be required/wanted.
Profit over safety during Covid crisis.
Booked to go to Holland in June but the FCO were still advising against all but essential travel. But P&O didn't care, happy for you to travel and pass the virus around the boat despite what the Government instructions are. I wasn't allowed to stay away from home over night but according to P&O I can board their overnight ferry and stay there despite Government advice. Whilst P&O are doing their best to help spread the deadly virus by letting people travel they're also stood with their hand out demanding support from the very Government whose instructions they are flouting. Too many double standards, hopefully they will go bust.
COVID 19 post experience
Booked originally for April, couldn't go due to covid, was told fare on credit note, was told to call to rebook.
Fast forward to July, tried calling phone lines not in use, email only 6 day response, unable to get original ferry we wanted due to waiting for email. Rebooked ferry and paid in full again.
Requested a refund, for email today apologising about the wait for response and that our credit note will be refunded into bank, thank you p&o that's a relief, as this was all stressful.
Thought for future, email customers with intention that are unable to man phone lines and there is a wait for responses. Also an E voucher may work in future, slow down the traffic of emails waiting for a response.
Bottom line is i am getting my original fare refunded, i thank you for that and looking into it.
I have never before found fault with P…
I have never before found fault with P and O but I have been trying for more than three weeks to exchange my coupon, for a cancelled trip in March, for a ticket. It seems impossible and I need to go to France on the 8th July. Have had one response asking for my phone number, sent it off only to get an automated reply and presumably I am back of the list again. I know times are difficult and I am sure staff are working very hard But something is not being organised that well
DO NOT USE P&O TRAVEL INSURANCE
Booked an annual travel insurance at the beginning of January with P&O. They weren’t the cheapest but after carefully reading all the terms and conditions thought it would be a good cover for me. How wrong I was. Had to lose 3 trips due to COVID and P&O couldn’t give a toss. Loads of e-mails sent, not one single reply. Complete waste of time. DO NOT USE P&O TRAVEL INSURANCE
No face masks enforced. On the ferry right this moment
On the ferry right this moment, only about one third of passengers wearing face masks, as is the law, and is not enforced by p and o. Staff not wearing masks or gloves. Cleanliness questionable. Beware.
Fantastic service - easy, polite and fast!
Just booked a season ticket with Bryan from customer services and he’s been fantastic. Competently guiding through the process and all quick and easy. They called us so we had no charges for ringing and it was fast and easy.
Thanks a lot, can only recommend!
Thankyou Vanessa
Yesterday I emailed P and O ferries regarding rebooking my cancelled booking.Less than twenty four hours later Vanessa telephoned me with the up to date conditions. She was more than helpful and tried to help all she could.People should be more tolerable and patient during these difficult times.Thankyou again.
Negative experience.
The company simply doesn't care. They won't help, leave you waiting for months (this is pre covid) and customer service doesn't care how their customers are treated. Nothing explained to the customer, treated awful as soon as they have your money. Stay away at all costs.
I will never travel with this company…
I will never travel with this company again.
Due to the Corona Virus I had to cancel a booking to N. Ireland .
it is now six weeks since I cancelled my booking , and though staff assured me 3 times I was entitled to a refund, to date I have not had anything .It seems I have been lied to by the staff with the company's approval.
I do not know if I will ever receive a refund or if the company will just hope I go away.
