I tried to play the word "negro" and it was rejected as invalid. It's still in the dictionary! I wonder what offensive but politically correct words are OK.

I have never in my life used a worse website

I have never in my life used a more buggy website than playscrabble.com. I love the game of Scrabble, which is why I am angered that this website is my only option for mainstream Scrabble play. We need an alternative! It is a pain to make an account, if your computer doesn't have the RAM of a NASA supercomputer gameplay is super slow, and sometimes tiles just glitch out while you try to place them and unless you refresh your site you can't make a move at all! User side, I have also experienced several crashes, but I suspect that's just a browser issue. The UI is also generally ugly & inconvenient, with incoveniences including not being able to select a specific length of time for how long you want to play online (which is odd because you can make such a decision when playing a bot), but those are moreso nitpicks. I give this website 1 star because the ugliness, difficulty to create an account, difficulty to play, various bugs, and bad design leads me to struggle to find any reason to give this website anywhere close to praise.

I didn't know this thing was bogus scam until tonight. But I have been playing for almost 4 months! I had a 160 point lead, and suddenly it shrunk down to 50 points! Then another game right after, the opponent was timing out... I waited almost 15 minutes...then suddenly, I am the one timed out, with only over a minute to play? Total B.S. Right after, I tried another game and it did that same thing AGAIN!

Def' rigged

Def' rigged. When playing against computer at hard level it regularly plays all 7 letters. More than once in a game. This rarely happens when tiles are chosen at random

Very glitchy

Extremely frustrating as the site often glitches. - Sometimes the blank tiles don't allow you to choose a letter.
- board moves/jumps due to adverts
- other times it seems like your opponent hasn't taken their turn and all you can do is wait watching the 15 minute timer go down and down, then all of a sudden your opponent has won! Reason - you ran out of time. How? When I couldn't take my turn as I was waiting for them!
- other glitches too but can't be bothered to list them. lol

The game cheats and doesn't care if you…

The game cheats and doesn't care if you know it. I get encumbered with i's and u's in virtually every game, often ending up with all vowels or all consonants in my tiles. The computer will virtually always play an x, j, or z at the very end of the game. While I beat it 99.9 percent of the time, I still dislike it's cheating ways.

It’s rigged

It’s rigged! If you’re lucky you can win on easy mode, but you can’t on any other mode. It wants Zoe to win, and it always gives Zoe the advantage by letting Zoe go first every single time!

Stupid game. I always play in the UK English mode and Zoey opens with "favor" instead of "favour"... clearly she's cheating.

I have played a number of times on this…

I have played a number of times on this site and it's okay.
I just type free Scrabble in the browser and click on the website.
I then click on play computer and select medium. It shows forty five minutes each and that is fine as the computer usually takes only five minutes to complete a game.
It's fine filling in time while having something to eat and I find myself winning against the computer around 75% of the time.
Sometimes you have seven vowels and other times you have great letters.
And of course you don't have to join to play against the computer

Zoey sucks raw eggs

Zoey the AI opponent gets all the high score letters when I play in hard or master mode. I end up with four letter i's and single point letters throughout the game. The whole thing is rigged in Zoey's favor. I'm a 400 score player but have to play medium mode to win. I have punched my computer screen a few times in desperation because I love Scrabble but this version sucks raw eggs.

Adverts constantly move scrabble board

I have been playing the AI on this for a couple of months as practice to improve my scrabble. Recently the ads have been resizing every few seconds, and moving the scrabble board left or right, so its now unplayable.

this website sucks

the ai chooses itself to go first every time, no system in place to stop people from waiting an unreasonable amount of time in the hopes that the opponent will give up

Talk about frustrating

Talk about frustrating! I was ready to kick the benign messenger ... the computer. This is perhaps the worst iterations of Scrabble that I've come across. I CONSISTENTLY get multiples of low scoring tiles, which is a rare situation if playing off line. Also it does not accept many words that are accepted by the latest Srabble dictionary. Hate it... but play because I'm addicted to the game.

The Tile Distribution Favors the Computer

The problem occurs when I am playing the 'hard' setting. I constantly get a tile selection with either 5-6 vowels along with low value consonants, or else only consonants. It makes it almost impossible to win against the computer. Also, why does the computer always get the first turn?

Its tile selection algorithm is rigged

Its tile selection algorithm is not random. It decides which player shall win based on some unknown criteria. The person destined to lose keeps getting all vowels or all consonants or "i" keep coming and opponents get choice bingo letters. If the tile selection were random such repetitive hopeless selections would be far less frequent than they are on this site.

Thus, no matter how much of a better player the designated loser is, he has no chance against the rigged tile selection algorithm.

Everyone plays a game based on the assumption that it is not rigged. But, Playscrabble is not not rigged. That makes it untrustworthy.

Today, after a long hiatus I played a game. I was leading by 60 points. I had 1 minute left on my timer. I had three tiles including a blank. I wanted to finish the game by placing all tiles. That was easy. I had G, E and a blank and GEE would complete the game. My placing these three tiles with the blank representing E on triple word score would have completed the game with 50 seconds to spare. But when I placed the blank, the letter selection popup did not come up at all. I tried again and again after refreshing the page but it simply would not let me select E for the blank and I ran out of time. I guess they have a way to punish those who write reviews like mine. They have a back-door mechanism for disabling the letter selection pop-up for guys they want to lose.

The point deduction is…

The point deduction is incomprehensible…
The point deduction is incomprehensible and occurs even if you win. In my opinion, this is manipulated to prevent you from getting a too high score and to ensure that everything appears to be in order at first glance. Something is wrong with this site.

Play Scrabble is the most frustrating unethical site you could play on - how do players switch time left - I had about 7 min left - when my opponent eventually played after about 5mins they had gone done to 1.22 but as soon as they played our times switched over - I got his time and he took mine -this has happened multiply times to be a incident - it is faulty and has a lot of incidents
