Plas Weunydd Reviews 

We arrived on Saturday 14/9/25 for two night stay. We were told we had not paid. When disputed it was found we had. Bedroom 10 was small and the en-suite tinny. We booked dinner for 7.30pm. There were very few in the dining room. We were asked if we wanted a drink, I ordered a tomato juice. The waitress looked surprised and had never heard of it! She offered me lemon and lime cordial, I declined and ordered a Perrini beer, it arrived in a plastic glass with Ice! The menu was very poor a limited, I was told this was because they only had a small kitchen. We just ordered a starter and departed. All the staff were very rude. Breakfast was worse, very limited hot food with cold plates. We were told we were late arriving at 9.50am. The reception had told us breakfast was served until 10.30am one rude member of staff said we should have arrived at 8am There was no apple juice or glasses. Scrambled egg was cold. We asked for tea on three occasions. Waitress said she was busy. It arrived after twenty minutes!
We were addressed by a member of staff who identified we were not happy. She gave us the option to check out and give us a refund which we accepted. We were told to reception and they would organise. We did and they said they could not process our refund. The following day they took another payment, not a refund. It has now all been refunded today. What a shambles, we would never visit again. The hotel was lovely and clean, almost new and in a beautiful location for fun and games, not that we did any, the room we had looked straight down the valley.
We have an evening meal, and it was delicious home cooked food hats off to chef.
Breakfast was ok, could be a little better, for instance the plates need to be warm not hot.
We definitely come back thank you team Plas Weunydd.

Fantastic weekend staying in one of the glamping tents, staff were really welcoming and helpful and we all loved the accommodation. A perfect weekend away.

We stayed in the glamping huts, safari style tent roof but very much luxury and lovely interior. The setting was stunning and it had such a calm surroundings. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the hotel serves wonderful hearty food. Would highly recommend for families or dog owners.

We were beautifully looked after by the young team of staff who were all very kind and helpful. Our room was lovely, the breakfast buffet excellent and my hamburger for supper a standout!

We liked location and bedrooms. We disliked breakfast and dinner choices. Staff kind but lacking experience with customers.

We visited the hotel recently while attending the Welsh National sheepdog trial. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly, enthusiastic and accommodating to both ourselves and our little dog. The hotel itself was very clean and fulfilled all our needs for the stay. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely make our way to this hotel.

Family of 5 and our dog staying in the glamping tent. We absolutely loved the experience, views were amazing, not many places you can have a bbq with a view like that! The glamping tent was great, everything we needed, we loved the bunk beds all having a sleep over together. We booked zip world whilst we were there and had a great day there.
The hill to the tents was steep but there were walkable paths and you are pre warned about this on booking.

Lovely clean hotel with staff that were very welcoming. There were 2 adults and 3 children in a family room which was absolutely fine for the few nights we were there. Breakfast and dinner were nice with a good variety for everyone. Location was great for zipworld, 30 second walk to the Llechwedd site and 35min drive to Penrhyn quarry.
We will definitely return!

Smart, spacious rooms. Fantastic location for zip world, great views out over the hills and slate mine. Looks newly refurbished. Food was good.

I passed through with my mother and our 3 dogs and I’m so pleased I chose to stay here. The staff were lovely and made us feel really welcome. And the advice to walk the dogs at the slate mine and lake was absolutely brilliant. We really enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast too. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

Absolutely amazing accommodation and all round experience. Idyllic place with sheep for neighbours and a sauna with views that can't be beaten!
The golf buggys are super fun too.
We only visited the hotel restaurant once and the food was delicious. .highly recommend a stay in the shepherd's hut, 10/10 and worth every penny!

We absolutely loved our one-night stay in the hotel part of Plas Weunydd. The location was perfect for us to go out and explore Snowdonia. The room was clean and everyone working there was incredibly friendly and kind. Comfy bed, great shower, and delicious hash browns at breakfast! We also had a lovely dinner outside with views of the peaks. We booked via the hotel website and found we had a better price by doing so.

Fantastic as usual, not stayed for a year due to a block booking.
Didn’t think it could be better but it was, staff great, hotel…..better.
Got a room upgrade.

Fantastic location and hotel. We were very well looked after (especially with a group of 48 A Level geography students and 8 staff!). The rooms were excellent and the food was super. All the students were very happy with their stay. Thank you so much!

We had a great stay. The room was big and clean with quality furniture and fittings. The team were all amazing and very friendly. Great breakfast and the best cheese dip started at dinner!

Although our experience was limited due to the thunder storm and persistent rain but the team at Plas Weunydd made their best efforts to keep our family entertained. They provided us with the Pizza oven and all the ingredients for kids to make their own pizza (we got this as part of our booking but forgot to claim it) however the team still honoured it and send us the full pack. The glamping sites was on a hill so they provided us with pick and drop to the car park in their 4x4 trucks which was very nice. Overall, it would have been an ideal vacation if it wasn't raining, since the views are amazing. Giving 5 stars as the tents are fully equipped and their team is very friendly and helpful.

We staying in the Glamping tents for a 40th birthday as a family with our two dogs. We were not disappointed we had an incredible time and would highly recommend staying here, we paid for a few extras which were all in the room waiting, we dined in the hotel both nights and the food was lovely and staff helpful. The tents themselves have everything you could possibly need they were comfy and a great base for your adventure
