Great action photos
Nick has taken some great photos at Canicross events - always captures the action in the best quality possible.
I usually end up buying pictures if he photographs an event that I'm competing in.
Capturing those special moments!
Nick is a fantastic pet/event photographer; he has been at numerous canicross events we've raced at over the years, and we always end up purchasing at least one digital print from him (usually more!). He is enthusiastic and has a great ability to be in the right place at the right time, catching moments on camera that you typically "blink and miss". Would always reccomend him to others, thanks again!
Calm, Professional approach
Nick has a very relaxed, calm, professional approach, nothing feels rushed. This helps the most nervous of dogs to settle. Nick manages to home in on the personality, stance and other traits of the dog/s which captures the perfect photograph for the owner.
The photo shoot was a great experience & memorable.
I would highly recommend Nick.
Stunning Photography
Nick from Pets make Portraits has been photographing my dogs at Canicross events for a number of years now, and captures some truly spectacular memories. I call them memories as this is exactly what they are - not just an image but a moment in time to look back on forever. Nick is not only talented at his craft, but also understands the demands of the sport, the locations he is working with, and the complete unpredictability of working with animals. Nick chooses various locations on each course lending themselves to some super action shots, often putting himself pretty close to the action himself! and I always come away from an event know i am about to have another photographic installment of our Canicross career to keep forever. When I look back on past events, which I do frequently, Nicks photographs evoke such emotion for me. I quite honestly go back to the event and relive it, the expressions on my dogs faces are most important to me, and my own feelings of pride, joy, concentration, relief and exhaustion are all there too. I am so insanely proud of my dogs over the years and to have these very special moments to look back on again and again is part of reason i do it. I highly recommend Nick for his work and professionalism.
Absolutely Brilliant
Nick is brilliant and very patient with the dogs. Lovely photos and a lovely gentleman. Highly recommend
Always a good shot!
I always look forward to seeing the photos from our CaniX events. Nick has a way of capturing “those” moments. The ones of pure joy, the ones of exhaustion to prove the challenge and some incredible shots of dogs in sporting action! I have some smashing photos from seasons past and look forward to future memories captured. I mean who doesn’t love collecting photos of their dog!
I’d 100% recommend Nick
I’d 100% recommend Nick. His photos are always brilliant and he somehow manages to capture the moments that matter. The quality is consistently excellent, the photos are always available quickly, and he’s a great supporter of the canicross community. I’ve got some fantastic memories thanks to his work and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!
Incredible images and always supportive!
Not only does Nick capture the most brilliant action shots at races, he is always cheering everyone on at both the start and finish line! I have a whole collection of race photos with CaniX all by Nick, he always captures plenty of shots which makes it really hard to choose! Can’t wait until next season!

I would 100% recommend Nick at Pets…
I would 100% recommend Nick at Pets Make Portraits for any photography needs, we have had many awesome action shots at various canicross events but I was really impressed with how he managed to organise three teams of canicorssers and all their canine companions for an absolutely stunning photo shoot in front of the breathtaking Glamis Castle.
He not only captures amazing moments and the atmosphere at canicross events but also beautiful photo shoots too.
I've never been disappointed and often struggle to narrow down my choices before making a purchase. The process of purchasing feels streamlined and easy.

Fantastic photographer with a real eye for capturing the moment. The photos were excellent, with a great mix of action and candid shots that felt natural and authentic. Patience and love
Nick has taken portrait photos of Rufus on two occasions now: some action shorts of Rufus running through trees in Shropshire, and some still portraits in the grand settings of the grounds of Glamis Castle, together with some candid shots of us walking together. Nick showed amazing patience in these sessions, coping with Rufus’s tendency to look anywhere but where we wanted, and managed to capture the images at just the right moment.
Nick has also taken some amazing running shots of Rufus racing canicross, capturing the expressions of sheer joy that I don’t get to see running behind him.
I have no doubts that Rufus loves Nick - and that Nick loves Rufus back. A fantastic dog photographer.

I would highly recommend Pets Make Portraits
I would highly recommend Nick's photography services. His ability to capture the unique partnership between dog and handler in canicross is exceptional, producing images that perfectly showcase both the athleticism of the sport and the special bond between each team.
Beyond his talent behind the camera, Nick is highly professional and a pleasure to work with. In the studio, he demonstrates remarkable patience and adaptability, taking the time to work around both the owner and the dog to ensure everyone is comfortable and relaxed. His attention to detail, creative eye, and commitment to achieving the perfect shot are evident throughout the entire experience.
Nick consistently delivers high-quality photographs that exceed expectations, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for a talented, dedicated, and professional photographer.

Race organisers experience
As a race organiser I know how much great photographs enhance our runners experience of the event as well as increasing our own online presence. We have been lucky enough to have Nick at the majority of our events over the past 12 Months. During this time he has produced fabulous photographs for runners and developed a working relationship with us that has been fun and productive. Nick has proved his versatility and his willingness to accommodate our wishes whilst meeting the needs of our athletes. Would highly recommend.

Amazing photos
Nicks photos are always amazing! I always have trouble narrowing down the number of canicross photos I buy - they’re all so good!! He puts a lot of thought into where he will be on the course, changing places each day to allow for a completely different set of photos, and beautifully capturing the individuality of each event, whether it be us sploshing through puddles, running down winding forest paths or capturing us in the middle of a mass start. It’s a perfect way to capture those special memories. I couldn’t recommend Nick enough.
