Well Worth It
We have two dogs that we rescued as puppies. We've always had PetsBest since we adopted them. Our oldest has allergies and PetsBest has always paid for her flareups and for her immunotherapy.
We've been very happy knowing we can make sure our dogs are always getting the care and coverage they need. We will continue to use PetsBest as long as we have doggy children.
Never Disappointed
I have a newly adopted, senior dog and just submitted my first claim for him. It was a scary situation where he had to be seen at an ER vet on a Sunday. He was not doing well at all but thankfully it ended well.
It was a little rocky at first with Pets Best to understand the claim and it had to be sent to the Claims department for review. After two phone conversations regarding this with very kind agents and the claims dept review I did get the reimbursement.
I have been a Pets Best customer for around 8 years and have never been disappointed in their customer service or my claims being reimbursed.

I had them since 2020 and the one time that I actually needed their insurance they claimed “pre-existing condition” for a surgery, even thought my dog has never had issues other than an ear infection. They then want to jack up the rates by 35%? Unbelievable.

Pets Best Pet Health Insurance has some of the BEST support staff! Anytime I have needed to call for assistance I have encountered a friendly and knowledgeable individual. I thank them each time for finding resolution in one single phone call.
The claim filing process is simple if the system is working correctly. On occasion they have required medical records from our dog’s Veterinary office before they can make a conclusive determination on a claim. This adds time between the claim submission and reimbursement (if the claim is reimbursed). In most cases our claims have been reimbursed promptly and efficiently with the reimbursement being deposited directly into our bank account.
Thank you, Pets Best, for doing such a good job in covering a percentage of the Veterinary expenses incurred by our dog.

The website frequently malfunctions, causing significant frustration when trying to log in and submit claims. Additionally, the reimbursement process is unacceptably prolonged, which adds to the overall inconvenience and dissatisfaction.
Why bother with coverage when most wellness visits are not covered specifically the shots
It seems like nothing is ever covered. Its hard to get someone on the phone and you keep raising prices. We will be looking elsewhere.

Easier than human insurance
I wish human insurance was this easy! Our cat needed all of his teeth removed due to stomatitis. I uploaded our final invoice and had my claim processed in just over a week. After the deductible the surgery was covered. I feel so much better knowing we can care for our pets when things get expensive.

American Bully Ares
Since 2021 we had our American Bully Ares, we had Pets Best Health Insurance. After two years he developed head tremors and epilepsy, Thanks to Pets Best insurance we were able to provide Ares with the best healthcare available because of Pets Best affordable insurance. We were always reimbursed for 90% of up-front costs on claims. Payments were always refunded in allotted time. Unfortunately we lost Ares March 05, 2026 he didn’t recover from his palate surgery to help him breathe better. Through this horrible time Pet best was with us through the process, and we are extremely thankful for them! Ares claim was $8983.55 , Pets Best refunded us and the hospital on claims.

Response time is great. Payment is very fair, definitely according to the policy I signed up for. However, and this is a BIG however, the website is often very difficult to sign in to. I often get an error message, and it is sometimes days - not hours - later when I can finally get onto the website. This is a big red flag to me.

I had no problems the first few years.I've been a customer for 8 yrs.Last year or two I could never get the claims for my two dogs approved because you were never satisfied with the receipts and invoices I sent you.Now I had issues with taking the pics on your app. I took the pics over and over again yet they were never good enough for the app even though they looked perfect to me. I called support and had to talk to someone that I could hardly understand.i was told to email them.i did that and finally got one approved and waiting on payment. Got an email today telling me i needed to resubmit the 2nd claim because the email I sent didn’t have the attachment with the receipts. I pulled up my copy of the email and it’s all on there so I resent it.I forgot to mention that my vet had also sent all the info to begin with. I’m waiting for these claims to go through and after eight years I’m done.What I’m paying is way more than I ever get back and I can’t deal with these issues anymore.It should not be so difficult to submit a claim.
I have Pets Best for both of my dogs
I have Pets Best for both of my dogs. I recently got a puppy who turned out to be very ill with a liver shunt and I have had no issues with the insurance paying his bills, and honestly, they are a big reason my puppy is getting better! Thank you!!!!

My claim was initially denied because one of your adjusters changed the reason from a covered accident claim (ingestion of a foreign body) to an illness (gastrointestinal infection) despite the supplies documentation clearly stating the reason for the emergency visit.

Pets Best reduced 4 line items on my actual veterinary invoice by a total of $130 without my consent or any explanation. Their own website states they pay based on your “actual veterinary bill,” but they used their own lower amounts instead. I have filed complaints with the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Do not trust this company.
