Pete James Magic Reviews

Written by the company

I'm Pete James, a professional close-up magician based in Orpington, Kent. I perform at weddings, corporate events and private parties across London, Kent, Surrey and the South East, and I travel further afield and abroad for the right event. I've been a Member of The Magic Circle since 2016 and an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle since 2021. Over more than 15 years I've performed at well over 500 events, from drinks receptions at country house weddings to Christmas parties on the Thames, awards dinners, exhibition stands at Olympia and ExCeL, and milestone birthdays. My style is roaming close-up magic: card magic, mind reading and impossible moments that happen in your guests' own hands. I move between small groups for a few minutes at a time, so nobody has to stop what they're doing or stand in a circle and watch a show. It's especially good at breaking the ice between people who don't know each other, which is why couples book me for the drinks reception and companies book me for the first hour of their party. There's no stage, sound system or set-up for the venue to arrange, and I'm fully insured with public liability cover. One magician comfortably covers up to around 150 guests, and for bigger events I can bring a team of Magic Circle magicians. If you've booked me, I'd be grateful for an honest review here. If you're planning an event, send me your date and venue through petejamesmagic.co.uk and I'll check my diary.See more
