I am in no way shape or form trying to be an a$$. When you have a customer service representative with a very thick accent they should not be helping anyone. I asked about deactivating my accounting closed and the answer was you only have one unless you get an email to reapply. When I asked what that meant she hung up.

Just got my Petal 1

Just got my Petal 1, and setting it up was a nightmare, and felt scammy, and I can not even cancel it myself. So, I linked my bank as they requested right off the bat to verify it. There was no option to skip ... you have to have a bank linked (not everyone wants to pay online with the same bank account every time ... but apparently there is no other option). While linking my account, there is a part where you have to confirm something, and I wanted to read all the details. Turns out, if you take a second to start reading, it kicks you out of the entire activation process. So, that feels scammy. Why can't I read what I am confirming to, hmm? There is a skip option, but it is small, and maybe I want to skip it. I went back through and had to confirm because I didn't have a second to read and know what I was and wasn't confirming. I linked my bank account, but I got an error code saying it didn't work. I went through the entire process again and got the same error code. I checked my email... odd... I had two emails saying it was added. Honestly, I do not know where the disconnect is. But it feels scammy. Why are you telling me it did not add, but it did? Then I got kicked out of the website entirely and had to log back in. I did ... and it said to check my connection. My connection was perfect. I tried it again, and it said to try again tomorrow ... I kid you not ... try again tomorrow. How unprofessional?! And also, that feels like a major scam. Added my bank ... told it was not added, but it was ... then kicked out and unable to log back in. That is SO sketchy. If anything happens to my bank, I will be suing. So, I ended up having to email support to ask them to cancel the card because why would I continue with a company that, out of the gate, is so unprofessional and sketchy? Hopefully, it actually works, and they cancel it. It just sucks because I had a hard credit check to apply, waited weeks to get the card in the mail, and now I don't feel safe to use it. 100% not worth it. Thankfully, I really do not need to build my credit; I just wanted a credit card to keep my score high. But this wouldn't be worth the hassle, even if you DID need it. I struggled with PayPal Credit Card, but you know what, it was a lot less scammy and bad than this. At least there were perks, and you could call for help. It just flagged my account too much because I traveled and spent money abroad, and I didn't like the hassle of having it constantly flagged. This, though, is so much worse.

Petal site does not allow extended history of charges and when you call they cannot verbally tell you or send you a copy if previously charged items, red flag all! The website and App are horrendous. They have connections to my bank account and I have tried 30 or more times to remove them, and after giving them negative feedback on my open account they are not letting me sign on to the site, really strange service! Be careful!!!

So I got this card after a bankruptcy

So I got this card after a bankruptcy, knowing it was a high interest card, which is fine. There are no rewards. I had it for about. I don’t know five months paid on it. Low credit line and they raised it. My concern is I’ve tried to use it on two different online websites and they have declined the purchases when I called. They’re telling me that they’re not supported merchants.WTF does that mean? I couldn’t get an answer given that there are no rewards and high interest and I understand my credit is crap. I close the account and paid it off. I’m not going to have a card that police is where I shop. These weren’t sketchy merchants. They were private merchants, merchants I’ve purchased from before with other cards without issue. There are other bad credit cards out there that you can look at I wouldn’t bother with this one. they also take over a week to post any payments so that they’re reflected in your credit line. And Their app is completely dysfunctional. …

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I made a request to consolidate my Petal credit balance to my primary credit card to pay everything off at once. Unfortunately Petal doesn’t allow balance transfers, which I have no problem with, that’s absolutely ok. The problem is that I never once received an email or a phone call saying that by transfer was declined and Petal kept me in the dark, making me think that the transfer was accepted (on my primary credit account, it showed the balance transfer as accepted). I voiced by concerns and disappointment to a representative and a supervisor, but they refused to elaborate on why the balance showed as posted and why the transfer request was still showing on their end. When they refused to help me, I demanded the supervisors full name and who he answered to. He only disclosed his name, Jed, but rudely refused to disclose his last name and employee number. When I demanded a manager he answered to, he dismissed my request and wouldn’t even disclose their CEO’s name. BEYOND unprofessional, BEYOND disappointing. I paid off my whole card just to cancel my account and card. Will never be using Petal, Chime or any subsidiary of there’s ever again

Scam product

Scam product. Customer service is over seas. I was a Petal 2 card holder and they down-graded me to a Petal 1 with no option to upgrade. Closed my account. Good fuc*ing riddance. Hope they become insolvent and file for bankruptcy soon.

Well way under 2 stars for a reason!

Jan 2nd I filed and application, 10 days later their company is still telling me, "It looks like a bit more time is needed to process your request. You'll receive an update via email soon."
Then the guy in the phone tells me after I asked him to pull my Application seeing it's still in flipping limbo that he can stop their slower than MOLASSES application process but that I'll still get a Hard Pull on my Credit Report though the Site said they'd only do a Soft Pull unless I accepted their offer, and then they'd do a hard pull. I haven't accepted any offer because the Application hasn't gone through.
BOTTOM LINE, THERES A GREAT REASON WHY THEY DON'T TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEIR REVIEWS HERE ...THEY SERIOUSLY SUCK AND KNOW IT
AND D O N O T C A R E !!

Dispute Mishandled Twice Despite Clear Evidence Provided

I made a purchase on September 25 for $59.40 from a website that sent me a counterfeit Dermalogica product. After using it once, I had a reaction that required a dermatologist visit on October 18, where I was diagnosed with contact dermatitis caused by the product.

I filed a dispute with Petal on October 20 and provided all evidence, including:
• A doctor’s note from my dermatologist
• Screenshots of my conversation with the merchant
• A photo clearly showing the product was fake compared to the real one

Despite this, Petal closed the dispute on November 11 without offering any explanation. I requested that the case be reopened and resubmitted all the evidence again. Petal closed it a second time on November 20 — again without explaining how a counterfeit, harmful product sold by a merchant does not qualify for a refund.

Petal provided no reasoning, no transparency, and no indication that a proper investigation was done. As a customer, I expected fair dispute handling and basic consumer protection.

This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Petal as a credit card issuer. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly suggest filing a complaint with the CFPB.

Terrible card!Terrible program

Terrible card!

Stay as far away from this company and its products. They have the absolute worse customer service with limited hours, limited resources and, their representatives are subpar at best. They don’t take any other forms of payments other than bank information. If you ever want to do a balance transfer to another account, they have made that pretty much obsolete.

They give no rewards, they give you service fees, their interest is ridiculous and, they offer nothing more than a small credit line. The only thing they are good for is building your credit if you have bad credit or you’re hurling your credit but even that is awful because their reporting is backed up by like 2 to 3 months.

Absolute horrible product and a waste. There are other companies out there that do a better job at helping people with less than favorable credit build up their credit with less nonsense to deal with.

Stay away!

Horrible customer service and…

Horrible customer service and ridiculous policies. My card expired and they refused to ship to PO Boxes claiming it as “not secure” when it’s under a lock under the supervision of the post office when regular mailboxes are easily stolen from.. They don’t give a crap about rural areas that can’t get mail delivered.
Took weeks to get any kind of response from customer service and my questions were never fully answered. I had to email multiple times to get anything back. Completely unprofessional.

The worst card I have ever had

The worst card I have ever had. I wish I had enough to pay it off and close it and definitely will when I can. The interest charged depends on the amount you pay. It will allow you to pay the minimum due, however, between the interest and their $8 per month fee (which started AFTER I had the card), you will find it only leaves a few dollars left available. The rest goes back to them. For example, a $35 minimum due minus an $8 fee per month minus interest charges will leave you with about $7 available. Basically, you're left paying monthly and may have enough for a very small purchase once or twice a year. Avoid this card unless you want to just give away money.

Petal Play Real Dirty!

ISSUE #1: March 7, 2025 I bought an item from Best Buy. I returned the item less than 2 hours later as it did not work. On my statement Petal listed the -$64.19 and then promptly added $64.19 to my balance. This has NOT bee corrected and they indicate a balance $64.19 HIGHER than what it actually is. This will now be TWO months of interest they are collecting for a balance that does not exit. Petal wee informed of this obvious mistake via email on March 10, 2025. To date they refuse/have not corrected it and continue to charge interest on a balance NOT owed.

ISSUE #2: On March 10, I wrote via e-mail, to Petal regarding the $100 increase. I reminded them that I have NEVER been late with my payment for well over a year, and NEVER gone over my limit, and also that their advertising regarding credit increases is false advertising. My income is NET over 1K per Week. Their advertising IS false, and is clearly stated to manipulate people to get their card.

ISSUE #3: After all the above, this is where it get interesting. On March 28, 2025 I receive an email informing me that my payment is 2 days late. I NEVER received any payment reminder like I have all this time... BEFORE.... complaining to them about their services and shady practices (see #1 above) They also charged me $25 late fee! It is very obvious that this company resort to dirty games in the event you call their shady business practices and false advertising out out!! I did not receive any notification of payment due! Keep in mind, the amount they say I owe is incorrect by $64.19 (see #1 above) and they are charging me interest on it too! This Company's business practices need to be investigated! What they are doing is Fraudulent/False advertising. I could NEVER recommend this credit card to anyone. They will deliberately "forget" or "glitch" with their system in order to 'teach you a lesson" for speaking up about their shady business practices. Read ALL the reviews. They are not credible..

Financial discrimination at its finest!

Ever feel like you are constantly getting singled out and discriminated against because of your heritage? Well, then this card is definitely not for you. I have several credit cards in my wallet with limits over $10,000. About three years ago I foolishly applied for this Petal card. I was approved for a measly $1300 credit limit. I was shocked! Over the next three years I continued to play their foolish games by flawlessly completing what they call “leap challenges” which is a juvenile way this company makes you beg like a dog for a limit increase, only to decline the request by saying “ we are not considering increases at this time”. My credit score is close to 800 across all three bureaus, anytime I’ve used this piece of crap card, I have paid the balance down to zero by close of every billing cycle. I’ve been nothing but the perfect and responsible consumer. So, only one of two things or maybe both are going on here. They would like me to carry a large balance so they can charge me exorbitant interest rates, or, the one I truly suspect is that they do not like my Hispanic surname. I urge you to take this review to heart and definitely reconsider even thinking about opening an account with this sham operation. I’m not a person who uses the race card often or unseriously but this is the only excuse I can think of as to why it’s been three years without any consideration at all from Petal. The part that really gets you in the end is that when you have access to over $100,000 between several cards and you are two points away from an 800 credit score, this stupid racist card with this measly $1300 balance sticks out like a sore thumb and prevents you from moving forward. And, if you cancel the card, your length of credit metric takes a hit on your credit report. Seriously do not do business with this company. It will just be years and years of degradation and disappointment. Shame on you, Petal!

STAY AWAY from PETAL

I've had the Petal 2 Card for several years and things were flawless. Approximately one month ago, I woke up to emails from Petal about fraudulent charges. I disputed those charges and just like other customers, I was on the hook for more than 75% of the balance. Customer service was no help whatsoever

AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!

What a SCAM! STOP NOW! Don’t APPLY! They offer a credit limit increase as soon as you activate your card and link your bank account within 30 days! Problem is! You can’t! Took them 65 days to get me the card! Called them multiple times and got BS responses. This is one I’ll pay off on the first payment and close quickly! The APP is a JOKE! Like a 13 year old created it! Highly recommend you AVOID this scam! Never been so DISSATISFIED with a credit card company in my life! If there was anything LOWER than ONE STAR, I’d submit it! -10 stars. I’m contacting FDIC, FTC and BBB as soon as I have time!
