Be careful when making a purchase from…

Be careful when making a purchase from Bravissimo if you live abroad, it may cost you more than you expect. But the product was good.
Bravissimo has recently imposed extra charges for items for my wife, who has been a loyal customer for over twenty years, in a manner that is unjust. We currently reside in Spain, and when placing orders with Bravissimo for items from the United Kingdom, Spanish VAT and import duty are applied on delivery. While this is standard practice, and we have no objections to paying these charges. However, Bravissimo has also seen fit to add an extra amount that is the equivalent of the UK VAT, which raises some concerns.
My wife has previously raised this issue of the additional charge with Bravissimo, but the company’s response was simply, that this is how we charge all customers.
This statement is inaccurate. When purchasing within the UK, customers pay the product cost plus VAT, with the VAT going to the British Government.
For customers in Spain, Bravissimo should only charge the product cost, as VAT and import duty are subsequently imposed by Spain. By charging an extra amount, Bravissimo is effectively charging international customers more than is necessary, the amount charged is the equivalent of the UK VAT. They Seem to do this so they can make extra profit.
Bravissimo may claim that the extra charge is to cover exporting costs. But this is not the case, in fact the company saves on costs, due to the provision of free returns, not being available to EU customers. EU customer, also cover their own delivery costs.
For example, my wife’s most recent order amounted to £85, with the additional Spanish charge of €33.31. Such treatment of a loyal long-term customer is unacceptable and falls far below expected standards of fair trading. Bravissimo need to stop charging what amounts to be an extra charge to clients just for living outside of the UK.
In a year we make many purchases from companies within the UK and not one charges UK VAT or any extra charges for export to EU customers.

I purchased 4 new bras of which 2 were white (Panache style). I have religiously hand washed these in a mild delicate washing liquid.i am really disappointed with the yellow tinge after only a few weeks of purchasing.
I have never had this problem in the past.
I am awaiting a response from the company as to the quality of the material they now use.

Strange experience

This was my first Bravissimo experience, and to be honest I was a bit taken aback by the process. I just wanted to buy a bra! I visited the Chelmsford branch. The staff were perfectly polite and on arrival as I stepped through the door, I was told by a member of staff that if my size wasn’t on display, then to just ask as they carried more in stock. I made my choices, but found it strange that staff had to radio upstairs for stock, the first few choices were unavailable in my size, and there was extensive back and worth conversations over the radio about stock, and the staff member seemed to get inpatient with my choices. Eventually I struck lucky with a design that was in stock. I was asked if I needed fitting as no fitters were available, and asked for my name and contact details before being directed upstairs. Upstairs was busy with clients, staff and fitting rooms. I was directed to a fitting room where my choice of bra was waiting for me to try on.

The bra itself was lovely, well made and very comfortable. Fitted perfectly and was very comfortable. A member of staff was on hand if I needed help but the bra was perfect so made my choice.

The ticket price on the bra was £39 but at check out I was charged £42. I hadn’t checked the price in the shop and only noticed when I got home. I’m not sure if the additional charge was for a fitting service which I didn’t use? But it wasn’t mentioned at any point that there was a charge for fitting.

On the whole, the product is fantastic, but the process of buying it and the additional charge, was strange to say the least.

Fantastic customer service

During lockdown ordered some clothes. Arrived screwed into a ball. Sent them all back. Then phoned customer services. They asked for my proof of return number and found that my parcel was in a post office in the north. Despite the fact that they hadn't got the return the customer service woman refunded me and was so nice. Apologised and said she would look into it herself. Fantastic customer service. This makes all the difference when ordering mail order because you have to trust that when things go wrong they are on your side. Well done!

Excellent website and easy to order; very polite, friendly staff

I promised the staff at Pepperberry Oxford Street/Margaret Street branch I would leave a review and kept meaning to. I am always scouring the Pepperberry website for sales items and always opt for click and collect. I very rarely try items on in-store and tend to return items in-store rather than mailing them. I have never had any problems doing this and I find the Pepperberry staff very friendly and approachable. I use both Oxford Street andmore recently the Covent Garden branch and although I find the system for collecting items at Covent Garden rather strange - you have to go downstairs and mingle with the ladies waiting for a bra fitting, resulting in some of them thinking you are possibly trying to jump the queue - the staff there are equally friendly. If Covent Garden could change their system so that you can collect items at the till that would be perfect! I have not tried the bra fitting service yet but when I do I will update my review.
