Falsely Advertised Part Nearly Causes A Car Accident.

If anyone wants a good test of their patience, they should buy a part from Pelican Parts. I had a new centre tie rod installed a few months ago bought off their website. Whilst I was driving, I had to make an emergency stop because the car was wobbling everywhere. The centre tie rod had almost completely come out of place. The new ball joints don’t properly fit.

I then purchased what I thought was the correct one from Pelican as their advertisement said it would fit my 7 series. They send me the same part so I logged a ticket in their message centre requesting an exchange for the correct one.

Terrible Customer Service.

Although they may be nice, apart from that one parts rep, the 4 different customer service reps I spoke to have been extremely unhelpful. They promised to give me a callback and never did. I had to chase them up at 4 in the morning (my time) and still didn’t get a straight answer or a proper reason why they didn’t call. They are still yet to email me back with a solution as they promised and it’s almost been 3 weeks. They seem to think if the customer doesn’t kick up a fuss then no need to worry.

I would've shipped back the item by now and happily taken my money back but after reading the other well-hidden 1 star reviews, I don't believe they will refund my money or wear the cost of the shipping. After this whole upsetting experience, I strongly believe their word is as worthless as the parts they sell. I suggest that you DO NOT do business with these people if you want safe and reliable parts for your car.

Don’t trust their model finder

I am UK based. I used Pelican’s search tool to identify my car on model year. I spent over $1,000 on parts, plus circa $300 on import taxes.

My car is a 1994 Porsche 993. I was sent parts for a 1994 Porsche 964, a completely different model. The Pelican tool is based solely on USA model years, nowhere else.

Pelican would not pay for shipping or taxes for me to return the goods.

Terrible customer service

Ordered a water baffle for my 2001…

Ordered a water baffle for my 2001 Benz. The part was unavailable. Pelican parts got the part for me and shipped it to me . Of course with our mail being in the Covid- 19. Snail pace. Pelican parts kept in touch and informed me several times. Now that is what I call above and beyond. Thank you guys you will find me as a repeat customer.

Horrendous experience

Horrendous experience. Worst company to deal with. Website shows in stock for parts, took the payment then run around for 2 weeks. Customer service rep supervisor hung up on me. One rep stated parts can be here between now and christmas, meanwhile the guy that took the order stated 3 days. Liars and libtards.

Worst

Worst, dodgy supplier. They knew that there will be three weeks delay for overseas dispatch from California due to Covid 19, but still did not change the false promises date BEFORE collecting the money. Package is still in California and talking about one month delay!!!! Told me two weeks after collecting money. Then said that they can’t refund too. Can’t cancel. Want whole package back back and forth from Australia, and then will think about any refund at all. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Pelican Parts are a joy to deal with.

I have ordered parts for my old Mercs a couple of times from Pelican Parts and on each occasion they were a delight to deal with. Very helpful at pre-order stage and then shipping etc was fluent from start to finish.

I would have no hesitation at all in recommending them.

Far too often I have been let down by suppliers where they say I will get X and they will provide it for Y price and it has ended up not being the case. Far too many people calling themselves experts. I don't think Pelican Parts call themselves experts, but they should, because they are. Pretty much all service providers in Ireland could benefit from watching how Pelican deal with their customers.

Return

i ordered 3 parts totalling 368.00 for my BMW. Decided to return the brand new unused parts, still in their original packaging and boxes for a refund. Sent them back to Pelican after confirming with their customer service that I could return them. I was refunded 124.00 freaking dollars out of my original 368.00 purchase price!

I have never in the history of purchasing auto parts not gotten a full refund for brand new returned unused parts. This is disgusting and I'll never use this company again.

UPDATE**** Update, I was reached out to by a representative from Pelican Parts and they have since refunded me my full refund. I guess they haven't lost a customer after all. Thanks to Michael Morita Vice President of eCommerce Pelican Parts, for assisting me to resolve this issue.

Did not fit and I have to pay for all shipping...

Did not fit, too small
I just order this fan and it said that it fits BMW 540i 2000. I need to return. Part was $36.00 with a tax. Shipping is $13.25. I did some return with other company, all I have to do, print the Fedex label, put it on the box, be sure that it is done properly and fedex will come to pick it up. As with Pelican Part, I have to pay for the return shipping. I already paid $13.25 and I have to pay for the return another $9.25 total of $22.50. If you cannot guarantee that your part will fit, you shouldn't be in this type of business. I lost $22.50 for something that I cannot do anything.
And when I research by the part number, it seems to be fitting Porsche. You send me the wrong part and you went back to mention that now this part might not fit our vehicle.
Highly not recommended this company.
