PayPal failure bordering on Fraudulent
I bought through Payal because I thought that kept me safe from Fraudulent Behaviour on behalf of the seller. I contested a false payment taken out of my credit card for a subscription I didn't want. I asked the company for a refund on the same day. They treated it as a negotiation so they could continue to steal from me. I complained to PAYPAL and they took the sellers side, despite me having ALL the evidence, which they clearly didn't bother to read. The case is clear, and the excuse they gave was that the seller had informed me that they would only guarantee a refund within a specified time period...I asked for the refund within an hour of the first purchase. Fraudulent and PAY PAL couldn't be bothered. Very disappointed
Lack of care for consumers
They allow sellers to rip off their customers as you dispute a claim when you never recieved the service. PayPal is so anti consumer and once I paid of my credit agreements I will be closing my account.
Terrible service, just give the sender their money back
Terrible service. I was sent money through paypal which I have not used for many years. My password does not work. Their ID verifaction through website does not recognise me. I rang call centre who suggested I create a new account with another email address and they would move money over, that does not sound right. In the end they said I had to get sender to call. She did, they told her I had to call. I did, this time I sent driving licence and selfie by email which they got. They sent link to reset password, that wanted me to do the ID verification again, this time phone said no. I asked for complaints department and was told that they dont take calls. Call ended. I tried to do log in again through website, it let me take selfie etc but again said it did not recongnise me. Have now lost the sale and have raised formal complaint but that is a 15 day resolution time. Rang one last time and got it refunded to sender. Thank you James for doing a great job, shame about your collegues.
Extremely bad customer service
Extremely bad customer service. Terrible at resolving failed bank transfers. Lots of unsolicited calls. Bad privacy practices and no transparency. Frustrating to close an account. With a lot of struggle I closed both my personal and business accounts. Don't sign up
Don't waste your time and money using Paypal!
One star is too much for this useless company. Bought a product in the uk, from a uk supplier and paid for with a uk credit card! Paypal charged my credit card in US$ which ended up costing me £30 in exchange rate difference. I have seen a number of reviews with similar experience. Filed a complaint with Paypal but not holding my breath, next stop Financial Ombudsman Service. I recommend deleting your account with Paypal and use one of the other many options available.
Verification Process that Doesn't Work
A bunch of months ago PayPal decided to limit my account and require a verification that doesn't work. I have tried for months to get it done without any success because the connection times out every single time no matter if it's in the app, the website or different devices. I can't update my info, I can't use the app to send or receive payments, and can't even close the account without completing the verification process, customer service aren't very helpful either. Don't waste your time here. They are just mining your data.
No Support for Victims of Fraud ort Deception
When transactions are smooth, they are fine. However, when there are disputes, they always seem to side with the seller, especially if it's a corporation. I have had two prior clear cases of fraud where I was the victim. PayPal has never sided with me. The most recent was a clear cut case of deception by a Hong Kong seller. Despite the may emails I provided as evidence, a one-line response from the seller (which was a lie) was all it took for PayPal to rule in their favor. The seller claimed they refunded me, but did not provide evidence. At this point, I will settle all my pay plans with PayPal and cancel my service. I need to use a service that treats disputes in a fair manner. If you need that, PayPal is not for you.
Cancelled Subscription, but charged anyway
Provided evidence to PayPal that a subscription service from Magazine3 showed to be cancelled two weeks before the renewal date, but was charged anyway. I took a screenshot showing that the status was "cancelled." The screenshot properties showed that the image was captured two week prior to the renewal date. PayPal refused to provide a refund. I won't be using PayPal ever again for anything I might need a refund on. They ignored the evidence presented.
User Beware!
PayPal used to be focused on buyer protection, however, that no longer seems to be the case. I used them to order from a business I had not used before, expecting to be protected if it turned out to be a scam. The dispute was decided in the seller's favor, even though I was overcharged and the item never arrived.
PayPal is holding your money? Sue them!
The only way it seems to get your money from the SCAM of a company PayPal is is to sue them -- PayPal is a STRUGGLING BUSINESS that has been DESTROYED by the likes of Venmo, Zelle, Stripe, Wise, etc. NOBODY I know uses PayPal anymore -- the company will surely be bought for pennies on the dollar!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!!

Frustrating Experience with Paypal account Lack of transparency
I had a PayPal account that remained inactive for a long period, following which I was asked to complete the KYC re-verification process. I have now completed this process four times, and it has been an extremely frustrating experience.
On each occasion, I have presented my original Aadhaar and PAN documents through the prescribed online verification process. Despite successfully completing every step, I subsequently receive an email stating that my KYC verification has failed and that I must repeat the entire process.
I have been an income tax assessee for over 30 years with an impeccable compliance record. I also maintain accounts with four reputed banks, including HDFC Bank. Given this background, I find it difficult to understand why PayPal repeatedly subjects genuine customers to such an exhausting and repetitive verification process.
What is particularly disappointing is the lack of transparency. I have repeatedly informed your support team that I am fully willing to comply with all KYC requirements and have specifically requested that they identify the exact issue with my verification. Unfortunately, no specific reason or deficiency has ever been communicated to me. Instead, I am simply asked to undergo the same verification process again. After I complete it, I am informed that everything appears to be in order from my end, only to receive another email later stating that my KYC verification has failed.
This cycle has caused considerable inconvenience, wasted valuable time, and led to unnecessary frustration. I respectfully request that PayPal clearly identify the specific reason for the repeated KYC failures so that I can address the issue directly, rather than being required to repeat the entire verification process without any explanation.
I hope this matter will be reviewed promptly and resolved in a fair, transparent, and customer-centric manner.
worst institution ever
worst institution ever. Before you open a PayPal account, please read the user agreement because if you violate one of the rules, they will hijack your money. upon reading the user agreement, you must be preapproved for certain purchases. Will those certain purchases is anything and everything that you want to use the card for any merchant. I highly recommend that you use another institution because PayPal is garbage. And if I can change one person from going to another institution instead of PayPal and this is worth it so PayPal if you do read any of your reviews. My attorneys are coming after you.
They are not reliable
They are not reliable. Unless they change a lot, I do not think they survive. There is so much more advanced competition on the market. They suspended my account with no reason, with no option to recover the account and money in it. I could not log in. I have spent an hour on a phone talking to a customer support, as there was no email option available without login in. The lady in the customer support tried to be helpful, but could do nothing. Finally, the made the account available only when I have contacted them via complaint form and demanded the account's closure. And they are expensive.
PayPal think UberBV fraudulent deductions are OK?
I had no trouble with PayPal until I suddenly received an email yesterday telling me an auto payment had been completed for UberBV?? I did not know about or authorise any such payment (and for past 3 months too).
I set up a dispute and within minutes PayPal told me nothing wrong with these payments and case closed?? Good luck even setting up a dispute because the entire site is so complicated.
I have since seen on many platforms others have had these fraudulent auto billings too, from this Netherlands company. Probably coming from a one off meal purchase where they retain your card number and programme in a monthly "subscription" fee without you knowing. What a scam, and that PayPal know about it and think it's OK makes it worse. I will go to my bank linked to PayPal and request refund for these unknown monthly debits which I have NEVER authorised - didn't even know they were happening.
PayPal allowed a company to essentially rob me
I had never even heard of YOLO Brothers until I noticed recurring charges of $49.99 per month on my PayPal account. I never knowingly signed up for a subscription with this company, and I have absolutely no interest in astrology guidance or apps, which is the service they claim to provide.
Discovering these charges was both confusing and frustrating. I spent hours trying to resolve the issue through PayPal, hoping they would help me stop the unauthorized recurring payments. Unfortunately, my experience with PayPal was just as disappointing. I was told that I was responsible for how the company obtained my payment information, and PayPal ultimately decided the dispute in the merchant's favor. As a result, I was left without reimbursement or meaningful assistance.
Between the recurring charges, the time I spent trying to resolve the issue, and the lack of support I received, this has been an extremely frustrating experience. I encourage others to review their PayPal and bank statements carefully for any unexpected recurring charges. I am very disappointed that YOLO Brothers stole $200 dollars from me and equally if not more disappointed with how PayPal handled my case.
Worst credit card facility imaginable
Worst credit card facility imaginable. Never ever works. Why provide a card and credit and despite passing any check possible, it doesn't work, causing full bookings to crash and time out. Utterly useless and infuriating. I have missed out on hundreds of potential points and HOURS of my time.
Terrible refund process for duplicate paymentsI
Beware PayPal MC uses Synchrony Bank. I accidentally made a duplicate payment, paying off my entire balance. Because it was a large amount of money, I called immediately to get it back. The initial PayPal rep told me a complaint was filed and I'd get a check in 2-3 weeks. After a month with no check or update, I called again. Another rep informed me that the payment actually went through Synchrony Bank and gave me their number. I called Synchrony and was told the check was just cut yesterday! They have held my money for almost 6 weeks, nothing was ever noted on my account, and no one reached out to me. If I had been late by a day, there would be immediate interest and fees. Synchrony Bank is too big to care about individual customers.
Terrible Company
Trying to solve a problem with PayPal is like walking a thousand miles across the desert in 10 minutes. Never going to happen. There is no live person to speak with to get the problem solved. You keep going over and over and over with the online dummy assistant, with no resolution. Will never deal with them again. Wish I could give a rating of minus 100.
Avoid If You Expect Reliable Customer Service
Very disappointed with PayPal Credit Card customer service. I made five separate calls and received five different answers. One adviser even told me that the credit card doesn't need a PIN, which is completely incorrect and only added to the confusion.
I was told to wait 72 hours for the issue to be resolved, but after waiting, I called back only to be told to wait another 72 hours. There was no clear explanation, no ownership of the problem, and no progress. Just a simple error on their part when I am creating a PIN. This card has no use to me as you cannot create a working PIN.
The lack of consistency, poor communication, and apparent lack of product knowledge made what should have been a simple issue incredibly frustrating. Based on my experience, the customer service was incompetent and failed to provide the support I expected. This card us USELESS to me. Train you people.
