A year ago, I canceled a payment for an order immediately when I realized the seller was a fraudulent scammer. PayPal PAID IT ANYWAY! Now they want me to cover it. I never received the paid-for produc... See more

4 fraudulent transactions from Google Ads in less than 2 minutes. Real time alert answered immediately saying "Not authorized " payments still processed. Filed dispute and even contacted Google Ads and received written acknowledgment that these were fraudulent. PayPal still says I have to wait the 10 days. 7/16. Received written confirmation from PayPal Customer Support stating disputes resolved in my favor and refund issued. Guess what? Still in review. They are sure quick to take your money but it is like pulling teeth to get them to refund.

I have been using PayPal pretty much at it's inception, the other day they permanently locked my account and say they are holding my $400 funds for 120 days. I have no idea what they think I violated, I thought buying stuff was the point and that's all I have done really so I am furious with their bad ethics and automated scam policies, I see I am not the only victim, continue on like this and you will no longer exists because you are screwing decade long customers and if you don't return my damn money I will definitely see you in court. I can't recommend this company any longer based on their pitiful ethics and poor decisions.
What a rip off
Purchase something from an overseas vendor. The initial tracking number was from the Chinese company according to them it was sent through the United States Postal Service once it reached the US, but conveniently there was no postal Service. Never received the item of course.
Reached out to PayPal because I thought I could trust them. Even the shipping information on their website pulled up a blank page so it’s just basically been deleted. They denied my claim because they claim that the vendor said it was delivered without the vendor providing a valid tracking number. When I pointed this out to the dummy on the phone, he suggested I use the Chinese tracking number. Somebody tell PayPal Chinese tracking numbers do not work for the Post Office oh and by the way they left it at the garage I don’t have. I guess it’s their loss though cause I pulled all my crypto out of their account.
Zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have spent an hour and a half on the phone, trying to close my PayPal account. First, they made me close my PayPal Credit account separately, so that I could close my PayPal account. I was hung up on several times throughout the process. The phone tree is maddening, especially when you have to go through it half a dozen or more times. After a huge amount of back and forth, a PayPal representative told me that I would have to wait 10 days after closing PayPal Credit in order to close my PayPal account. This is total BS. I should be able to close my PayPal account exactly when I choose. The customer service reps are awful. Everything about this company is shady.

The worst customer service (Wafa)
The worst. I reached out a few weeks ago to report that my card had been charged on a different PayPal account that I do not recognize. I requested that my card be removed from that account and that a refund be processed. I was notified that the issue had been noted and escalated, but then they went quiet.
I decided to follow up today and, sadly, encountered a very rude and egotistical agent called Wafa. He asked for my bank statement, and I told him that my bank does not provide one unless I am registered for mobile banking. I also pointed out that it would have been helpful if this had been requested when I first reported the issue. He became very passive-aggressive, called me "dear" in a condescending tone, and then called me "Sir" after I pointed that out (my name is Grace???).
Shortly after our interaction, my account was permanently restricted, despite the fact that I was the one who reached out to report the suspected fraud. The timing made the restriction feel retaliatory, especially given the way the conversation unfolded.
Really unprofessional!

Very disappointed in PayPal
Very disappointed in PayPal. Have dealt with them for many years BUT when I needed them, they came up zero. I was unfortunately scammed by a company from Singapore called Channel Flow Digital PTE ltd. They trade under the names of Boots, Argos, Curry, etc. All of it is rubbish BUT PayPal still take money.
AscI say very disappointed. I have lost £60 but I wonder how much other people have lost.
Thanks PayPal.
They will.\nNot help you when to get your money back
Hi, my name is Melissa pale. I've been with PayPal. 12 years, I had someone to steal money off my car $,270, they told me it was nothing they could do about it. And the guy name was Melvin Steele, that took my money from PayPal. I don't appreciate no one taking money from my car and for pay pal to have Not consolidate. And give me my money back, I didn't appreciate it. I've been with pay pay 12 years and this how they treat you, they deactivated my account and told me it was nothing furthermore, they can do If you will with PayPal, I will tell you this they're not reliable it will not help you get your money back and they will close your account. So I really do not appreciate and I do not like it at all and I rate them a 0 because they was not helpful and they won't consider considerate of how I feel when folks take money from me, telling me nothing that is nothing they can do or no other further investigation, and my card was locked when Melvin still took the money. My car, so I don't understand how he got the money off my car.So paypal , I hope y'all have a good day

PayPal insists on stealing $56.72 for me. I order the pride. I paid them. They claimed the product was delivered, but I never got the product and they're refusing to reinburse me my money or send me the product.

I would never recommend PayPal after my experience.
Even when I had an open dispute and clear, undeniable evidence that the merchant admitted full responsibility for failing to provide the service I paid for, PayPal did nothing to help. I provided emails, screenshots, and written confirmation from the merchant admitting the fault and acknowledging that the service was not delivered correctly. Despite all of this, PayPal still failed to protect me or recover my money.
If you think having solid evidence guarantees a fair outcome, think again. In my case, it made no difference.
I have completely lost confidence in PayPal. I am closing my account and will never use their services again. I cannot recommend paying with PayPal based on my experience.
PayPal is actively complicit in a severe human rights violation by locking my funds and ignoring a disabled crime victim.
PayPal is actively complicit in a severe human rights violation by locking my funds and ignoring a disabled crime victim. Two weeks ago, I was brutally assaulted and tortured by the Mannheim Neckarstadt Police Department in Germany, who stole my phone containing all my 2FA security access. Media tracking logs prove that my stolen phone is currently sitting inside the Neckarstadt West police station.
Because I lost my phone to police brutality, I am locked out of my PayPal account. I have provided PayPal with my official passport, comprehensive medical assault reports, and formal legal warnings drafted by a military criminal court prosecutor with twenty five years of experience. Their response to this emergency has been nothing but useless, robotic automated messages.
By cutting off my financial survival and ignoring all of our legal and official warnings, PayPal is helping a corrupt police department cover up their tracks and leaving a seventy percent disabled individual bleeding and penniless on the street. This is absolute institutional cruelty. PayPal values their corporate silence over human life and legal compliance. Do not trust this company with your money.
Endless Loop Trying to Close PayPal Credit
They make it almost impossible to close your PayPal Credit account. I've spent hours trying to get mine closed over multiple occasions, only to be told it would be closed within 7 to 10 days. Every single time I check back, it's still open.
Because the account remains active, PayPal will occasionally default to PayPal Credit for a payment even though I don't want to use it. Then you're forced to clear the balance again before they'll even consider closing the account.
To make matters worse, interest of just a few pounds, in my case around £1.74, gets added after you've paid it off. That means the balance is no longer zero, so you're told you have to pay it and wait another 7 to 10 days before they can "try" to close it again. It's an endless cycle.
I've been promised on multiple occasions that my account had been closed, only to discover later that it was still active.
The APR is also extremely high, so there's very little reason to keep the account open in the first place. If a customer asks to close a credit account, it should be closed promptly. Instead, PayPal seems to make the process as difficult as possible. I would never recommend PayPal Credit based on my experience.
Vile and shocking company.
Vile and shocking company.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
I have been trying to resolve a simple issue with my PayPal Credit virtual card since 8 July, with the matter being escalated on 10 July. Despite this, nothing has been resolved.
Since then, I have spoken to 16 different members of staff, and every single one has given me different information, different timescales, or promises that have never been kept. I have now had 12 complaints raised, and every single one has been ignored.
I have been promised callbacks from Credit Specialists that never happened. I even took time off work and lost money waiting for calls that PayPal assured me I would receive, only to be left waiting with no contact whatsoever.
The most frustrating part is that I have repeatedly been told there is nothing wrong with my account, yet nobody can actually resolve the issue or tell me why I cannot access my PayPal Credit virtual card.
The complete lack of ownership, accountability, and communication is shocking. Every time you call, you start from the beginning, hear another excuse, and are given another timescale that comes and goes without any action.
This experience has caused me significant stress, financial loss, and considerable upset. No customer should have to chase the same issue every day while being repeatedly misinformed, ignored, and left out of pocket because of broken promises.
I have exhausted every avenue available to me. I am now pursuing a formal complaint, will be referring this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and am also considering legal action to recover my financial losses and seek appropriate compensation if PayPal continues to fail to resolve this matter.
If anyone from PayPal's Executive Complaints Team is reading this, this is your opportunity to finally take ownership of my case and resolve it. I have had enough of apologies, excuses, and broken promises. I want my PayPal Credit virtual card enabled and this matter brought to an end.
Loot with hidden fees and no rules to…
Loot with hidden fees and no rules to mitigate the loss, paypal restrict the seller to charge paypal fees from the buyers. it says that it charge 4.4%+0.5$ fees but it charges more cuz the forex spread it follows is 3% more so its 4.4%+0.5$+3% fees in total almost 8% its charging as fees. Thats bonkers and totally unacceptable i was receiving 4000$+ monthly income on paypal on my small business after this unethical working i have planned to look for other payment gateways. paypal is one sided penalising the businesses who pays paypal thats bad business. i wonder how paypal is managing to survive.
A company who does not care for their paying customer is a sinking ship. Its gonna sink if not today but surely tomorrow.
PayPal didn’t support a recurring fraudulent charge from a company I ordered from.
I ordered a health product on PrimeCell using PayPal. It was a difficult process checking out. PrimeCell kept trying to add unwanted items to my order. Finally, the order went through. I received the item that I ordered. It doesn’t appear to have done what it claimed it would do. But that’s not the worst of it. PrimeCell had added a no cost item to my invoice for “Prime Health Rewards”. I never added this item to my cart. And there was no description of what it was for. I assumed it was for some sort of health rewards discount. Instead I found out it was for a recurring monthly charge of $39.99 when I received this charge on 15 July 2026 from PayPal. I contacted PrimeCell to get the charge reversed. Instead they tried to get me to accept a lesser monthly charge of $7 per month, which they assured me would give me half off the price of future purposes. But they didn’t reverse the $39.99 charge. PayPal also refused to refund me for the unwanted charge despite their supposed protection against improper charges. PrimeCell is shown as a known online scammer. So avoid doing business with this company and don’t use PayPal to make any payments as their payment protection is meaningless.
PayPal is a dying company out to scam users.
I intentionally selected USD on an eBay listing because I wanted my UOB FX+ card to perform the currency conversion. During checkout I was not presented with any option to choose my card issuer's exchange rate. PayPal converted the payment to SGD automatically, costing me approximately S$33 more.
I have previously always looked out for the option to choose the exchange rate method, but for a reason unknown to me, the payment went through automatically. I did not consent to automatically using PayPal's exchange rate for eBay transactions, and this was forced upon me and without my knowledge.
I called PayPal support and explained the issue, asking for the charge to be reversed and done again in the right currency, or for a goodwill adjustment of USD25 credit into my account. Both were refused.
I've struggled with this PayPal conversion issue for years where they've always done their best to force their unfavourable exchange rate on users so they can squeeze us more. They continue this disgusting practice when PayPal is no longer essential for certain payments like it used to be, and the so-called buyer protection they offer is provided by credit card companies.
I have also heard horror stories from friends of thousands of dollars stolen through accounts frozen for no legitimate reason.
I will no longer use PayPal again and hope they disappear.
What the heck is going on with PayPal…
What the heck is going on with PayPal and their customer service? They are really starting to drop the ball with customer service, which, you can only reach ai, not a real person.
I have been trying over and over to get a real person with a bonafide email address and their ai system just keeps screwing it up and doesn't understand what I am needing, and every email address I try is bounced back to me as not longer being a usable email address.
Thinking it may be time, after 25+ years, to end my relationship with PayPal.
AI HAS COMPLETELY RUINED PAYPAL
AI HAS COMPLETELY RUINED PAYPAL. NO WAY TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN BEING. I TRIED TO CANCEL 3 ORDERS. APPARENTLY YOU MUST CONTACT PAYPAL WITHIN 2 DAYS, TWO DAYS!!! IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL A PURCHASE.
