Paro works with me to find the best clients. They take the headache away of having to manage marketing and billing. It's a perfect collaboration. I can focus on what I do best while knowing I have a team of people to support me.

I had them for bookkeeping services. After communications with the first bookkeeper failed because she would always be on vacation and not get me the monthly reports (with an excuse every time) that were why I had their service. I was going to cancel at the end of the year. I got a new bookkeeper and gave him a try. He made me miss my corporate March 15 deadline to file my taxes. His story was my emails must have been hacked since he did not get my emails asking when he would be providing the corrected reports. I canceled in March via email and a phone call. They just charged me again for April. No response from them at all. The worse service. Even my CPA thought they were the worse. I guess you get what you pay for.

I’ve spent enough time on Paro at this point to really understand how the platform works, and overall I’ve had a positive experience.

What I’ve come to appreciate is that Paro is not just a basic marketplace. It works best when you understand how to show up well, how to position your experience, and how to build trust over time. Once you get that, there can be real value in the platform.

I’ve found that it can lead to strong client connections and interesting work, especially for people who have clear expertise and know how to communicate it well. It’s not totally passive, and I think that’s important to understand going in. The people who get the most out of it are the ones who are thoughtful, responsive, and professional in how they engage.

Overall, I think Paro is a credible platform with real potential, especially for experienced independent consultants. The more I’ve worked within it, the more I’ve understood where it can be effective.

They help find my first clients, so I could make an income and leave my full time job. The communication is extremely responsive and helpful, support is always available. Highly recommend partnering with them.

Complete ripoff. They had someone as my "bookkeeper" who overcharged me for amended previous unneeded returns, then left the company. They then put me with another CPA, who charged me for me 2024 returns, never sent them to me, and then when I reported him to Paro, they fired him without ever getting my returns sent to me. I am out thousands of dollars, and extremely frustrated. No one answers their phone line, and the email responses I received simply told me it wasn't their problem. I reached out to the fired CPA and they said Paro didn't allow them to keep records, and that Paro should have the return. Paro said they didnt keep records, and that the CPA should have the return. I couldn't recommend them less. Extremely terrible company to work with. Do not use their services!

Update on my review for Paro. Still no effort on their part to help us file for fraud and loss after their bookkeeper we hired got caught up in a scam email and lost us $12,500. State laws are clear that bookkeepers are ultimately responsible for verifying before acting - none of which our bookkeeper did. Paro states in multiple reviews that they mandate that their bookkeepers carry Errors and Omissions Insurance but they refuse to provide the insurance information and ignore their responsibility to help the client retrieve stolen funds. I’ve asked them multiple times and they continue to ignore my request for help. I will update as things progress. Just be aware!

Paro has been a standout platform for me from the "Expert" perspective for the past 5 years I have been using it to grow my CAS & Advisory practice. It is easy to use and the sales team truly hustles to make good-fit deals happen. I consistently see a strong pipeline of vetted client opportunities that match my team's skills, and Paro helps manage engagements end to end so projects & client/expert relationships stay on track; this is something that not only my team and I but also clients appreciate. The operations team is responsive, leadership is inspiring (and accessible), and the company is clearly scaling to the next level. I also value their ongoing investment R&D, specifically their embrace of ai, which keeps improving both the client and expert experience.

TLDR: Paro is an excellent, professional, growth-minded partner that I am happy to recommend!

My experience with Paro has been very frustrating. They take a significant portion of the revenue earned (around half), yet they do not guarantee payment for completed work. When a client refuses to pay or behaves fraudulently, the financial risk is placed entirely on the professional — even when we deliver the work exactly as contracted.

I raised multiple concerns about a client who showed clear red flags, but there was little to no action taken to protect me. Despite that, I was still expected to continue working and remain professional while receiving no assurance that I would be compensated.

The platform emphasizes professionalism and accountability from Talent, but unfortunately doesn’t offer the same level of protection or support when things go wrong.

I hope Paro improves their vetting processes and establishes stronger safeguards so independent professionals aren’t left unpaid for honest work.
