very slow to process claim, then took two excesses for one incident. charging excess for third party and for first party. the result insufficient funds to complete the repair satisfactorily. completely un trustworthy as policy states an excess amount doesn't tell you that they make a single incident two claims. go somewhere else to insure

Absolutely terrible company to be with, after I put in a claim they sent their assessor who told me I could have work start only to find out he knocked us back. After a 12 month fight through the ombudsman we finally one only to have them keep stuffing us around.
Please don’t use them it’s honestly not worth it.

I bought a charter deposit insurance together with all the extras (racing, travel health and crew, skipper liability). I paid by card and was charged. However, the system didn’t work and my policy wasn’t processed. I called few Pantaenius offices (all international calls at my cost) and after lengthy conversations haven’t received any help or advice, they didn’t know what happened. No refund, no solution for the system fault.

Used to be trustworthy, but are not anymore. Strangely enough I experienced that after having insured boats with them for many years, that they turned on me after my boat had a damage. It was actually a counterpart that was to pay, but Pantaenius were running the dialogue and dragged it our for months. Finally, firing me as a client because I pointed out that they were responsible for the dragging out. Very unpolite person at their end too. Cannot be recomended. My boat was insured for +100K EUR, and this was a case at around 15K Eur. They really screwed me over.

I ran aground in Greece. They arranged surveyors to come and attempt a recovery, when that failed they arranged a large recovery boat. The customer support team were supportive and professional, checking on my welfare with regular calls and constantly remotely co-ordinating with the teams that came to help. Help came fast even off season. All expenses were covered and handled by the insurers, it was an expensive recovery. The only negative is that my third party insurance didn't cover damage to the hull because the boat wasn't a total loss and the problem was caused by a faulty anchor chain, but hey, it's third party.

Our boat insurance is with Pantaenius Palma and after an orca attack destroyed both rudders, they helped find a company to repair and we were back in the water within 6 weeks. Claim paid without question!
