Disappointed
Our guide was very pedantic in her delivery and conducting the tour. I felt like she was conducting a tour, thinking of us as 5 year olds. While it can be her style and approach, shr can be mindful of the different maturity levels of the group. Also she was not mindful of cultural sensitivity and in this particular tour called out generalizations related to the "Germans" and "Irish". Also the time gaps were not planned properly especially at Mondsee. Honestly disappointed with the entire planning. Especially on a day when the temperature touched 38 degrees. The least one can do is to provide water bottles, especially when you charge 70 euros per ticket.

The Eagles Nest….Amazing Tour!

This was one of the highlights of our holiday and far exceeded our expectations.
The scenery is absolutely stunning, but what really made the experience unforgettable was our guide, Conor from Cork, Ireland. He has an incredible gift for making every single person on the coach feel welcome and included. From the moment we boarded, his warmth, humour and enthusiasm set the tone for the entire day. My wife, Karen, is Irish and Conor really made her day!
Conor’s knowledge of both The Sound of Music and the history of Salzburg was exceptional. He managed to balance fascinating historical information with behind-the-scenes stories from the film, all delivered with infectious energy and genuine passion. Nothing felt scripted or forced, and he kept everyone engaged throughout.
He also had a wonderful ability to make every guest feel special. Whether you were a lifelong fan of the film or simply curious about the locations, he made sure everyone was involved and enjoying themselves. His enthusiasm never dipped for a moment.
The tour itself was beautifully organised, with breathtaking locations and plenty of opportunities for photographs, but it was Conor who elevated it from a very good tour to a truly memorable one.
If you’re visiting Salzburg, don’t hesitate to book this tour. And if you’re lucky enough to have Conor as your guide, you’re in for a real treat.

Absolutely fantastic
It was absolutely fantastic. Our tour guide Simon was excellent. Possibly the best tour guide I have ever had over the years of having done many many tours. The stories and facts were told with humour and passion, the stops were perfectly timed, and even on a boiling hot day, we had an amazing time. For those who love (or even like) the film, do not miss this.

The bus was alive with The Sound of Fun!
Absolutely loved it! So much fun and nostalgia. Mitch was a fabulous host and I also learned so much about Salzburg and Austria via his narration as we travelled to each Sound of Music destinations. The scenery is beyond amazing and the bus very comfortable during a European heatwave! Credit to our awesome driver too!

This is the second time in 8 years…
This is the second time in 8 years going on this same Sound of Music tour. This time, they no longer show you or drive by the various sites in Salzburg that is shown in the movie. Although, what was added was the history of the real story. Otherwise, it was an okay tour of the major parts of the movie. I'm not sure if I would do it for a third time.

As the movie was filmed in the 1960s, some locations and circumstances have changed over the decades, which unfortunately means we cannot always include or access every filming site as it appeared back then. However, we continuously adapt the tour where possible and have added more background about the true story behind the von Trapp family to provide additional insight and context.
Our goal is always to offer our guests an enjoyable and entertaining four-hour experience, combining the magic of the movie with the history and beauty of Salzburg and its surroundings.

Nice tour of Salzburg
Nice tour of Salzburg. But a bit over priced for looking at a gazebo and two filming locations from a distance. Best was our guide Simon, he was brilliant! And that the driver Dragan sold cold beer.
