Carol Laurence helped considerably with…
Carol Laurence helped considerably with the sale of my property, and although my purchase fell through due to Coronavirus and insufficient sales of adjoining apartments, I will have no hesitation in using her again when they come back onto the market. She kept me up to date completely by email, and answered queries by return.
I really recommend Owen Kenny
I really recommend Owen Kenny, they were excellent in helping me with a recent legal matter. I particularly wish to thank David Thornton for his advice and help in guiding me through the process. He patiently answered every question I had and explained everything so clearly.
I also wish to thank Ceci Voight for her kindness in arranging an alternative method of getting documents processed in these difficult times. First rate service.
Very good experience and response.
Having been a client for Owen Kenny for 5 years
Having been a client for Owen Kenny for some years now, I can safely say that they have represented my cases well, provided first class barristers to meet my specific needs, and are thorough with details, evidence, statements and so on.
The team are sympathetic to my needs and concerns. I find the team I deal with, to be friendly, helpful and considerate.
I would recommend Owen Kenny solicitors to any friend or family experiencing divorce proceedings as well as child cases.
Prompt
Prompt, efficient and friendly service from an experiences professional.
Service was efficient
Service was efficient, but could have been better if we had not dealt with three different solicitors, with only secretaries available during the interregnum.
An excellent firm of lawyers
An excellent firm of lawyers who have handled our property and probate matters for many years and we have received excellent service.
Exemplary service
I had occasion to instruct Owen Kenny in two matters. The first was to act as executor on behalf of my late father, and the second was to sell his house. On both occasions the service I received was exemplary, efficient and above all careing.
Fantastic made me feel safe
Unprofessional question and lack of interest.
I gained a conveyancing quote online which was followed by an email from a Sarah Jeffery asking if I wished to discuss the quote, then to call her.
I called and asked for her but my call was answered by a Richard Ayling who clearly was not interested in my request to discuss the quote. He made no attempt to look at my quote or to check the prices included everything, despite me asking him to do this.
He asked where I was buying and when I said that it was a new build but has been on the market for almost 2 years, he replied with "well aren't you worried why it hasn't sold yet?".
He has no idea why I am purchasing this property or why I have to sell my beloved current home.
He has caused me added anxiety and grief that I really do not need right now and I find a question like this unprofessional and unnecessary.
Needless to say I will be spending my £4000.00 conveyancing fees elsewhere!!
David Small is a very dangerous man
David Small is a very dangerous man. He cares not for you, your children or the partner you are fighting. He will destroy all of you simply to fill his pockets with your money. Please, please make a formal complaint to the SRA Solicitors Regulation Authority. David Small must be stopped before more children face lifelong damage and parents mental health damage if not even financial ruin. The more people that follow this advice and complain formally the more the chances are that this man will face his own Karma.
This company does not even deserve one star
This company does not even deserve one star!
Avoid this company, particularly David Small.
I went to this company for legal assistance regarding my divorce. What was actually a quite straight forward divorce ended in vastly inflated fees of almost £12,000. The case didn’t even reach a Final Hearing.
Much of these fees were generated by copious volumes of totally unnecessary letters produced to both me and my then husband incurring a charge on each and every occasion.
I found David Small’s approach to be quite unhelpful and aggressive at times. I felt he did not have my, or my children’s, best interests in mind. Often I felt bullied by David to unnecessarily aggravate my husband, thus making the case more complex, resulting in more unnecessary fees for Owen Kenny.
My experience with David Small only worsened when roughly £1,000 was added to my bill for David Small’s attendance to a particular Court Hearing.
On the morning of this hearing I met David Small at his office reception. I specifically requested at this time that David should not attend Court as I had a Barrister and I was cautious of the cost of both David and the Barrister being present. David Small agreed and said he would walk me to the Court and simply introduce me to the Barrister. Bizarrely, David then chose to stay for the entire day, much of which was spent waiting around. David Small then charged me roughly £1,000 for the privilege of his company!!
When I questioned these charges I was advised that I had run out of time to have charges reviewed by the court. Interest was added to the charges, some of this interest accrued due to the inefficiency of Owen Kenny in noting a new email address for me.
This was followed by a written threat from Owen Kenny of legal proceedings. Owen Kenny refused to negotiate on these unnecessary fees and the end result was an attempt by Owen Kenny to issue a County Court Judgement against me.
I am thoroughly disappointed with the service provided by David Small and I highly recommend avoiding this rip-off company. A totally unsatisfactory experience which has left me severely out of pocket. Do not use this company!!
