Often versions of software are released and they do improve problems and replace the wording or keystrokes to repair the problem. ALSO often the replaced version makes other aspects of the software worse. Case in point, the star reviews were rmoved in the latest version. Library patrons use these stars for many reasons. In our circle of friends, the presence of the stars indicates to us that we have ALREADY read the book. I read appprox 200 books and it is a great help to me to have that self generated review. Easier for you as programmers perhaps and maybe cheaper to distribute, but the newest version is a decided step down for the patrons

So recently, there is a app named "Sora, by OverDrive Education" (I'll use "Sora" as a shorter way) that is spamming notifications without consent. I do not know why this is happening but it is illegal to spy on someone without someone's consent. It started a few months ago and they keep spamming it everyday. I did try turning off my location but they keep spamming. I did try turning off notifications for the app Sora but they keep turning it back on. So this means that this app is spyware. I am never using this app again and I'm reporting it to the government to remove this app. The date I provided was Oct 1, 2024 because I do not know what date it happened but it did start at Oct 2024

I have been please with my use of Overdrive through my library. There are a wide range of books available, ease of holding ones place in line, and automatically revoking of permissions to a book once your time allotted has expired. There is an easy ability to renew book orders and several tablet and e-reader devices are compatible.

For long plane rides where I don't want to pack several books, having the ability to download and read e-books is a great resource for any traveler. I'd highly recommend checking out OverDrive through your library for e-book recommendations and stop spending money on e-books through Amazon or other sources when you can get them free!
