SNCF - userfriendly company?????

To whom it may concern!
We are all encouraged to save our planet...I do it my way, no car any more only bike, train, bus and tram and sometimes if no other way airline.
my story: No way to put your bike in a TGV???? (unless dismounted and packed and I am ready to pay for it!) this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.
This public company, called SNCF, suffers from continuous strikes due to unhappy employees, this largely supported by unhappy travellers..What happens if you miss the basics? Bankruptcy...
No bankruptcy as it is a public company only surviving thanks to you and me....the EU taxpayers! Enjoy

a very unreliable service

No sockets in outbound journey but worse is bus scheduled at 1pm never showed up on 16/07/ 2018 in Paris Bercy . Finally they hired an old Parisian bus which departed at 6.30 pm! and took us to London . The bus arrived at 4.15 am in London on Tuesday 17/07/2018 instead of Monday at 9.30pm.That’s a delay for sure ! Besides bus waiting areas are really out of order well or non existing really and there was actually no seat for passenges, nor any place in the shade for us to wait . Consequently , we waited for 5 hours and thirty minutes sitting on the floor of the nearby dirty car park .
I must add that the Oui company had no problem to tell us from the start that our bus was delayed because it had been searched then because of traffic while being aware of course that there had been no 1 pm bus in service at all ... Then they told us later that they had lost the bus ...??? Then that they were going to hire a bus ... then that they needed to find a driver ...??? Then at 5 pm that they had a bus and a driver but we waited for 6.30 pm for the old bus without any toilet nor socket nit anything departed .
Oui bus company seems very poorly organised and their service and customer service is appalling ! No response from Oui Bus has been given so far .

AVOID USING THIS WEBSITE.

I have emailed, messaged on Facebook and called (only to be hung up on) in order to try and get a refund for a ticket that we shouldn't have been charged for.
The customer service is abysmal, probably the worst that I have every come across. Their website is difficult to use and to actually speak with someone directly is proving to be near impossible.
I am shocked at how bad this website is and can't comprehend how it is still running.
I would highly recommend avoiding this website altogether.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service! God forbid you have any medical issues, you will not get a refund even if you are in the hospital. You have to purchase insurance, otherwise you're out all the money you've paid. Stay away!

APPALLING DELAY IN REFUND

APPALLING DELAY IN REFUND

For over six weeks I have been trying to wrest a 400 euro refund from this company for a cancelled Auto-Train ticket. The UK office of Oui.sncf confirmed by e-mail the refund was due but only after I sent a copy of the tickets to an address in .....Barcelona, Spain. Since then, silence. The 'live chat to an advisor' on their website is defunct. No telephone number is available. There is no way to contact them. The after-sales service is appalling, and from previous reviews here, the company seems to be one of the worst-run in mainland Europe. If you can arrange an alternative method of travel, do so, avoid sncf at all costs.

SNCF is the WORST company in THE WORLD.

SNCF is the WORST company in THE WORLD.

Tickets are not given some times, they cancel your tickets off for no reason, some tickets for other places are given, trains are always late etc.

I think a highscholler can make a better website than them.

terrible services

Sent multiple email, no response until one week later.
On the other hand, for each email I sent, got an auto-response
that they will get back within 48 hours. Ridiculous.

Dishonest, unprofessional, and incompetent

I tried to exchange a ticket through Voyages-SNCF's online system. Both times I was told there was a technical error and received automated e-mails assuring me I was not be charged; in fact, I was charged both times. I submitted my refund claim and three weeks later have been through a series of Kafkaesque e-mails and calls during which the customer representatives claim my refund is still being processed but they have no idea when I will receive it. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there is none, which while not credible would at least explain the shoddy customer service. Don't use the company; it's a shambles if not a sham

First Update on 21 July (response to Voyages-SNCF reply):

Dear Jeremy,

I have not received my refund nor has Ann, the last Voyages-SNCF customer representative with whom I spoke on 19 July, e-mailed me yet as promised with any update. The reference for the ticket for which I was twice charged for failed exchanges is SIYZJB and the reference for my refund case is 290648

Thanks,

Ela

Second Update on 21 July Following E-mail from Voyages-SNCF:

Dear Jeremy,

I have received an e-mail from one of your colleagues advising that I will receive a refund within six to eight weeks. The amount of time required for my refund to be processed is quite remarkable. Nonetheless, I shall wait and provide an update on this forum about whether I receive my refund by 14 September

Thanks,

Ela

Third Update on 30 July

Dear Jeremy,

Astonishingly, my refund appeared in my account today. I imagine its appearance nine days into the promised six-to-eight-week period (albeit still over five weeks since two amounts were wrongly debited from my account) is because of your intervention, so thank you for that and I have upgraded my review by one star to reflect your assistance. However, I still won't be using Voyages SNCF again, as the difficulties in resolving things when they do go wrong are excessive

Thanks,

Ela

Appalling

Purchase of the ticket is the only easy and straightforward process when using this company/ service. Once you have parted with your money (and tickets aren't cheap) the service is absolutely non existent. Hung up on by members of the company on the phone (once I actually got through to someone) and am still trying to receive help with my purchase. Not hopeful.

this company is not justable do not use it!!!!!!!

I never write a review for any company, but this time i have to do it as this company's everything is just so s**t. I booked the tickets from its website and it shows 5 five for transactions are failed. but actually the money has been gone through, I get nothing about the confirmation letter.
Then I called the service center, they make you to wait for a longlonglong time and charge you highhighhigh phone credit without sorting any problem.
so do not use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i paid about 30 pounds mobile fees with no problems sort out!!!! And I am not sure whether I can get the money back or not. Let's wait and see.
This company should just close down. Whoever manage this company should just go di*. I mean how can you have a such s**t website.

I got charged 3 times the amount of my train tickets and did not receive my booking confirmation.

I tried booking for tickets for Madrid to Barcelona, but my DEBIT card got declined TWICE. Then using another card, I tried paying again and got declined again.

I then went on to check my bank account, and realised I got charged all 3 times but did not receive any booking confirmation as the website said my cards got declined!!

I am now charged a total of £435 with absolutely no booking confirmation whatsoever. And when I called their 08 number the next day (7p per minute), they said I only have been charged once on the second card, and no charges on the first card, the one that I have been charged twice, when they clearly did!

They then said the amount will automatically be returned to me in 5 days, if not I will have to call back again (7p per minute!!) and they will sort things out but then this time it may take about 1-2 MONTHS to get my money back. SERIOUSLY??

Terrible customer service!

I booked train tickets with voyages-sncf in October for travel in December from London to Bruges Belgium. On the day of outbound travel we had to change our tickets and when voyages-sncf reissued the tickets, they issued them incorrectly so they were only from London to Brussels. We didn't notice this until we got the Brussels and had to pay the extra fair between Brussels and Bruges. I contacted Voyages-sncf and they admitted their mistake and told me to submit my receipts and they would give me a refund. I submitted everything in January and as of the end of April, I still have nothing. I have called multiple times and they always have a sorry excuse. I think their goal is to wear people out so they just give up and then of course there is never a refund. Do not use this company. There are too many other reputable options.

Delay and Late Refund Gone After waited for 8 Months

The train is delayed and late arrival for more than hours so I submitted the used tickets and refund stuffs then they kept asking to me to wait and keep telling me the case had been elevated within the SNCF organisation every time I asked for the progress of the refund then it been eight months so I sent another email to ask for the progress and now they are telling me it is too late to claim the refund ... ... Totally speechless, is this how they conned the refund money??!! Dragging the procedure then after it passed sometime and tell you that they are sorry, you cannot claim the refund anymore.

Lousy service

Pre-booked night train Paris - Nice for October, was told around an hour before departure it was cancelled. No explanation or apology, I was offered a place on the TGV the next morning and was asked 'do you want it or not' or words to that effect. I then had to find and fork out for a hotel room which of course didn't come cheap. On the train next morning I was kicked out of my supposedly reserved seat twice as others boarded further down the line. Their website makes lodging a complaint a convoluted affair so I sent a letter - unsurprisingly I never heard anything from them, and needless to say never will.

AVOID. worst customer service I have ever experienced

Don't trust what this company offers. When I bought my train ticket from Biarritz to Saumur back in June, I was sold a fully refundable ticket anytime before departure.. As an emergency emerged, I tried to get a refund of the ticket a day before departure at the train station in their office, and they did the paperwork and said it will take a long process but I will get my money back.. LIES. I havent received my money even tho they took a copy of my card and all my details.. I do not understand how such a big company can have a terrible service.. I called them many times, since they dont give you the option to contact them by email, and we couldnt solve my problems. Very disappointing.. Rather take the bus or fly and avoid these bad times with them..

Mediocre experience

I have used Voyages several times to buy train tickets and this was the first time I had problems with them, but, if I'm honest the service was quite poor, just overall it was a mediocre experience.
Like I said, I have used them several times and they have always sent the tickets promptly and I received them within a few days.
This time, I ordered them and they never arrived- not their fault, they were sent- but they told me the only solution was to buy new tickets and have them reimbursed. Given that I was travelling from one end of the country to the other (Hamburg to Munich) and I was being told I had to buy brand new tickets a day before I wanted to depart, the cost did not leave me thrilled and it seemed like a kinda bad solution- why couldn't I change my ticket to an e-ticket for example?
Nonetheless, I bought new tickets and ended up having to take the 13 hour coach and lose a day of my holiday, as I simply couldn't afford to buy €400 worth of train tickets.
The biggest issue I had as well was just trying to get in touch with ANYONE. I am currently living in Germany, but used the english site, because I paid using my english card- made sense to me. But, it picked up that I was in Germany and put the prices into Euros. (This to me also made sense, I'm used to things picking up i'm in Germany and putting the price in Euros). But when I finally managed to call someone about my missing tickets they couldn't find my booking because I had paid in Euros, and said that i'd have to call the French helpline. I also was unable to access my booking online- the English website told me I couldn't view it,because I'd paid in euros and the German/french/basically every other website told me I couldn't view it because I had bought my tickets on the English website.
The whole thing was basically a mess. It's going to take them up to 6 weeks to even refund me, so make that 7 weeks in total, which is too long to be hanging round and a few hundred euros down.
I have used them several times and they've been so efficient, but the incapability of being able to contact anyone and everything being so slow means I've been left with somewhat of a taste in my mouth. Next time I'll pay more and go direct.
